  1. Agree with all of this. Sturridge will almost certainly get goals but I can't ever remember him playing a decent pass.
  2. I went to get my hair cut on Saturday and the woman said "would you like me to trim your eyebrows?" Not good.
  3. I do quite a lot of work in Egypt and travel there over the last couple of years has been largely ok. As far as I know Sharm El Sheikh's always been fine. The risk is if the referendum coincides wth the time when you're travelling. One thing I can say for definite is that the weather will be better than Butlins.
  4. Or of course "JC going through the early, painful stage of resurrecting his career" If someone could tell me how to actually post a picture, that would be handy.
  5. I've just subscribed to the digital fanzine, which is great for oocs like me, but I can't see it on my ipad. Any ideas?
  6. People who misuse phrases like this should get their just desserts.
  7. Omnibi - person attracted to everybody of both sexes
  8. I put a fiver on each way on the strength of this. If it comes in, I'll be asking about the Grand National.
  9. If you want to go for a drink it's probably best to head down to the Grund (old part of town in the bottom of the valley). They've renovated it recently and you'll find plenty of bars there and if you're lucky even a little middle-european debauchery.
  10. I'd say about 3 to 4 mins each side. But the best way to tell is to give it a good squeeze with your thumb. It should be soft and yielding but not squishy (this applies to many things in life...). Make sure that the pan is good and hot before you start, plenty of salt and pepper and not too much oil. A griddle is perfect if you have one. It's worth leaving it to rest for 5 mins once you take it off.
  11. Three middled aged, white, Englishmen, sitting in judgement on whether something a mixed race South American said in Spanish to an African born Frenchman is racist?? This is brilliant. Great report, as ever. I haven't commented on your match reports before but I've been reading them for over 5 years now and they are consistently the best thing out there. Thanks a lot.
  12. I quite like the look of this, but I hope that is the formation. I wouldn't want to see Shelvey on the right of a 442.
  13. Thanks for the info. Join date May 2005, posts 1. Someone who doesn't speak until he has something to say!
  14. Except that this wasn't what happened. A private equity firm bought the company. It sold the homes, took on lots of debt and extracted a billion quid's worth of profit. The PE company is very happy, having made a 400% return on its investment, but the people living in the home are suffering the consequences. The private sector may be the right way to go sometimes but not always.
  15. Either real or genius. Some of the very best GF threads have started in Simon's head. Respect.
  16. It certainly made me laugh! Just going completely off topic for a moment, l'Equipe are saying that Hamburg may be offering a 4 year deal to Cole and that the transfer fee could be as much as EUR 12 million. They are normally quite a good source but that can't be right, can it? You'd hear the sound of hands being bitten off from here to China. Joe Cole vers Hambourg ? Info L'Equipe.
  17. I'm not racist, have never displayed any racist tones or language, and never had anything to do with any racist or xenophobic group, nor do I agree with anything that remotely prohibits people of any race, religion, physical ability, age, or sex from participating in anything they want to do. But if you're going to get all spastic about it then I suppose it's not the sort of open, adult forum that I thought it was. Hmmmm.
  18. According to l'equipe there was a disagreement about the contractual terms on Thursday evening. People were reporting 60k per week for 5 years and that's a big risk for someone with his injury record, so I'm pleased we said no. There is no way that Newcastle have beaten us to this signing as SSN are reporting. He may turn out good but Newcastle look like they are going the way of our previous owners - avoiding up front payments and paying high long term contracts on risky players as a result.
  19. I'll eat pretty much anything old in the fridge except rice; I'm paranoid about rice. Why is it a "best before" date and not "better before" date?
