We had this a few pages back, mate. If you report as ill with the Zoe app, it asks a couple of dozen questions about your symptoms- I'm pretty sure that it then assigns a weighting based on earlier responses combined with actual test data to determine whether or not you likely have it. The guy who heads up the research team said earlier in the week that if you have the classic cold symptoms of sneezing and a runny nose, then you almost certainly don't have Covid. The app has pretty much been spot on with trends in actual testing data and such a large increase- it was about 1600 a day not so long ago- is really bad. As for deaths, they will lag infections and hospitalisations, so it's a few weeks before you see the figures. Both deaths and hospitalisations have pretty much doubled from a couple of weeks back already though.

Does it detract from it? Someone's getting an acknowledgement of the work they've done. If it bothers you, don't read it and just get on with your day.

It is a bit. I'll have a look at the games I've got installed and see if any of them have benchmarks- from memory, Thief and some of the Total War games do, but I've uninstalled them. Doom 2016 might have one though. Edit- it doesn't, that's a bit shit.

Shouldn't do, you're running at 1080P resolution, so you've got the same amount of pixels to push around.

Not sure then. To be honest, if you're getting decent results in actual games, then you can just ignore a synthetic benchmark.

Pretty much the same as before. Strange, you should be getting 20 percent more performance than me with your system. Are your nVidia drivers up to date?

I re-ran it on the same settings as you. I'd have thought your 1060 would be pretty much the same as my 970, and your processor's certainly better, so not sure why you're getting a lower score. I've got 16 gigs of RAM, but unless you had 4 gigs or less, that shouldn't make much difference. Did you have something else running at the same time?

I ran it in benchmark mode and got this, so yeah pretty useless for gauging how it'll do with actual games, especially as it's 7 years old now-

What was the program? I used to run 3D Mark a while back to benchmark my graphics card, but anything above a 960 these days should run most games fine at 1080P.

Thanks. It'll probably be around Easter next year when I get a new PC, so might coincide with a sale on the game, CDPR's games seem to drop in price pretty quickly.

Nice- is there a release date yet? If it's early next year, it'd tie in as I'm due a new PC.

We've had to cancel 3 this year. It was my missus's 50th earlier in the year, and we had a trip to New York planned which has been moved to next year and a family holiday to Spain in July got outright cancelled. A bunch of her school mates are also turning 50 this year, and we'd hired a big country house in the Borders for this weekend which has also been nixed. I've got 10 days to take before the end of the year now, and was thinking of taking our youngest down to my Mum's in North Wales in the October half term as we haven't seen her since all this started. Looks like that is very unlikely to happen as well- she may or may not have had it as she was really ill in March, but as she's asthmatic and in her 70s, we can't really risk it.
