Aye, they did similar with the original Witcher game, released an enhanced version months after the initial release, and gave it to previous owners free of charge. That was a massive update too.

Haha- to be honest, I can't really justify upgrading other than that I don't want parts to start failing on my current PC- it's 6 years old now so it's unlikely just to go boom but I could do without the hassle. The most demanding game I've played recently was probably Witcher 3 and that held 60 fps at medium- high settings quite easily. I'm not that interested in the really big budget tentpole games, but the ones I have played run fine anyway. Still, I'd really like to play at 120 or 144 fps for the experience.

I'm due a new PC next year- I'm still using a 970GTX- so hopefully the availability and prices will be better by then.

I think it's made well over $6 billion now, I'm sure it was noted as the most successful 'media product' of all time. Pretty amazing as I always found the GTA games a bit boring...

Oh definitely, Rockstar are cunts when it comes to the PC. It would have made a bit more sense in this case as they might have been able to get the game out more quickly, and the market for the new consoles won't be that big for a while yet.

Strange they didn't go for a GTA5-type release schedule- get it out on PC and current consoles now and then do an enhanced version for the new consoles a few months later to get the double-dippers.

Careful, this sounds a lot like the divide and conquer rhetoric the Tories and Lib Dems used to justify austerity. There's nothing wrong with giving pensioners free TV licences, bus passes and decent pensions- as long as every other group or demographic is treated fairly too. Even so, wanting to strip one group of its 'perks' because others don't get it is just a race to the botton.

I'm into the second series now and it's definitely an improvement over the first. It's not riotously funny, but it's a really good watch.
