  1. Doesn’t look like there’s much wrong with him at the end there. Unfortunately. Does Richarlison ever stop whingeing by the way?
  2. The whole shitshow that is this season isn’t down to Firmino or other single cause. Around this point last season, City with Laporte out were 20 points behind us and had lost more games. During last summers “break” they strengthened and integrated players to kick start the run they’re on now. The situation is worse here in that we have fewer players than City to call on, but we’re not as far behind as they were and may not get those 20 points behind. I do believe we should now have players in their correct positions, no square pegs in round holes, because it has rarely if ever worked before and isn’t working now. As it stands, we have little more to lose by putting in Kabak and another CB, and playing our strongest midfield and forwards and taking what comes. If it doesn’t work out, are we any worse off than now?
  3. Sad news for the Boss, hardly surprising he’s seemed pre-occupied recently and likely explains perhaps why he’s looked pissed off at times. Who wouldn’t be given his situation. Sometimes life is a bugger.
  4. If we can somehow get past Leipzig, then get some defenders fit, I could see Klopp concentrating on trying to win it again. The CL is our only hope this season and it’ll be literally the luck of the draw for us to progress.
  5. More to that than just words. Recall Guardiola saying that the “This is Anfield” sign was not just an advertising ploy, and that when full, it was one of the hardest grounds to play at. Must really fancy his chances today of breaking his duck.
  6. Grealish has that socks down, dodgy haircut, unshaven, scruffy, looks like he needs a scrub demeanour, but he can play, that much is sure.
  7. I should get my second one by 20th May. Where’s the Champions League Final again?
  8. This. Exactly. We bought two centre backs, one wasn’t named in the squad last night, one was on the bench. Are neither fit enough to play? Surely it had to be worth a shot to put Davies on as it became obvious very early on that it was going to be “one of those games”, and yet we didn’t really change tactics or performance for the better with the substitutions. Fuck me, even if we’d told Phillips to go up front with Origi for the last 10 and got crosses in, it might, just might, have resulted in a goal from somewhere, we were a goal down and not looking like scoring at all, never mind getting two back. Brighton players were throwing themselves in front of everything and busting a gut to cover back on the few occasions we broke, so credit to them and Potter for doing what they did best. We didn’t change anything and they had us at arms length, just as a number of teams have had us this season. I know we are missing big players, but we have to use those we have still fit knowing that playing the way we usually do will be severely diluted in effectiveness, and much easier to defend deep against, so change it! City will come at us Sunday, who knows, we might get a result against them, but 3 points against them and none against Brighton equals 3 points. Somehow I doubt we’ll beat City though.
  9. The miss by Salah in the first few minutes was crucial. Score that and their game plan has to alter, if not immediately then later in the game certainly, but that wasn’t the sole reason why Brighton won. They based their game plan on solid defence, as have many teams against us this season, and they were able to carry it off because they were so disciplined. Add to that they scored with the first chance from either side on target and we had no alternative plan and the result was all too predictable. The depressing thing is that even with a lack of first choice players available, we don’t ever seem to be able to change the way we play, to try something different. I’m not looking forwards to the City game at all.
  10. Even if he’d have been there he wouldn’t have stopped that big grock heading it back. They’ve been trying to do that all game, we should’ve known they were going to try it.
  11. No point crossing anything in just to have their grocks head it away, knock it in low and hard, and tell ours that you don’t have to wait to get in the box before shooting, at least make their keeper make a save and you might get a deflection on the way. Currently, I’d take any goal for us to take the lead.
  12. Having seen all the above captain our team, I can state, unequivocally, that the best captain I’ve seen is definitely one of them, or it might have been Matt Busby when he played for us. Souness. But not by much, from Jordan and Stevie.
  13. King to Fulham would be great, especially as the bloos have shown their hand over wanting him too. Arry reckons he’ll want guaranteed first team football and he’ll get that at the Cottage, might not a Woodison, as he’s looking to the Euro’s?
  14. I don’t think it would have been out of place for Rashford to be given a standing ovation at Anfield, had fans been allowed in. Some things transcend football rivalry. He’s shown up politicians for what many of them are, and he’s made them eat humble pie. Fair play to the kid.
  15. Dirty?Rash? Maybe he doesn’t like getting rinsed? Surely that’s a plus for a defender? Get him in!!
  16. I’ll take that, as it stands, if he is instrumental at stopping them from scoring. Square peg in a square hole is good.
  17. For us it might mean a double whammy, we gain a centre back worth the fuss and weaken our next opposition in the CL. For them it is gaining the fee, likely more than the fee, they might get for a player who could be coming to us anyway and, if they’re being pragmatic, knowing they don’t have much of a chance to progress in the competition even if they put us out. Unlikely that a deal will be struck this late though.
  18. There’s no doubt that the phrase “Flawed Genius” applied to Suarez. Outrageous skill, dark temperament at times. Still a privilege to have seen him at his best.
  19. Nice one Crouchy, bet with Ferdinand Liverpool will finish above United, hope to see him pick that up at the end of the season!!
  20. How many fouls does Hojberg have to commit to get a yellow???
