Spot on. I am still gutted about Kenny. We had some bad results but overall the performances were far and away better than under Bodge. We started to see Shelvey, Henderson and Carroll come into their own. A couple of signings and I really think we were good for top four next season. Kenny make mistakes for sure, but if there was one man who was going to stand up and correct those and work tirelessly until we were back on our perch, it was him. Still haven't got over and I hope the owners have a bloody good long term plan, because sacking Kenny after one season was nothing short of a disgrace. I'm angry at FSG now and they have a lot to live up to now.

Great OP. I've been supportive of FSG until today. It was a stupid decision to not give Kenny one more year at least. Either money or a consistent long term manager are the only things that will get a team into the top four and we have neither. They have sacked practically everyone bar the tea lady and we are completely rudderless. There isn't a football man at the club to advise them on a new manager. It was clear to me that the performances were improving this season, that we needed a few tweaks here and there, yet a club legend is bombed out at the first opportunity. It's a sad day for the club. FSG had better know what they are doing because when they appoint Martinez and he can't handle the size of the job, they are in for a rough ride.

Downing must go. A bigger waste for me than even Carroll. Kuyt, Maxi, Adam, Cole, Aurelio, Aquilani and Cole. Get rid.

If we looked back at any manager in our history, there have been times where 90% of fans would take no positives from a game or two and based on that conclude that the club was not going in the right direction. At the moment it looks like Kenny is not taking the club in the right direction, but that's based on, maybe half a dozen games? I think he needs to be given more time than that. No manager can wave a magic wand and suddenly transform the club. He needs to be given more time, admit mistakes and rectify them.

Kenny is right to give him a chance, but also right to haul him off yesterday. He was the worst player on the pitch. I felt sorry for Kuyt because he was sat there looking at the player who got picked in a final ahead of him. As soon as Dirk came on he made an impact. I'm ok with Kenny giving Henderson chances, and he's having plenty, and will have more, but unless he starts to show some promise or have some impact on games then he will be reduced to getting a half here or a half there. It's up to Henderson really.

Simply ask any fan of another team that if we offered Luis to them for free, would they take him. That'll shut them up, because every single fan in the Premier League would like him in their team. A manc friemd of mine and I were dicussing the game yesterday and he said he genuinely hopes the fans don't boo Suarez. I told him I had the same feeling about Evra, but that realistically it's going to happen. Both teams should privately instruct all players to comply with the handshake, it does neither side any good if handshakes are refused.

Didn't like watching it either, despite my dislike for the old fart. You have to grudgingly admire how much passion the bloke has. He's a grandad who just won't quit and to put himself through this amount of pressure at his age cannot be healthy. As one poster said, I've seen a lot worse physical reaction to tension from fans about 60 years younger than him. I was shaking like a leaf myself at one point thinking Barca were going to blow it. I was made up they were beaten, but I have to give it to whiskey nose, he was gracious in defeat.

I agree with poster about Suarez. I think his ability to cause havoc and create space ahead of him has been a big factor in our upwards form. Lucas is the most improved player we have. I was not his biggest fan but he has been imperious last few months. Spearing has done his job well, but not sure he's the answer. I thought his passing was poor yesterday. Gave the ball away quite a lot and was covered, as were the full backs, by the excellent Lucas. Gerrard will always be first choice, but I think a game like yesterday could do with a genuine quality passer of the ball in midfield, which we don't have. If we could get Adam and put him on a fitness regime, then it might be a good signing.

We have no players on that team who can pass a ball. Shocking. Wilson, Skrtel, Carra (sorry to say but the hoofing was ridiculous), Spearing, Kuyt, Cole. Ngog. Absolutely terrible. A terrible season is at an end. Ship out some of this dross in the summer.

You, sir, are talking sense. I firmly believe they want to sack him, but this is a monumental decision. Who do they get in? If they sack him and his temporary replacement is even worse, then what happens? Do we fans turn on them because of that? I have no problem at all with NESV taking their time on this rather than pander to baying fans. It's about getting the decision right, not how fast it takes.
