People vote in a general election. A party gets elected into government. Yet, people are still allowed to challenge and discuss the policies which they have a mandate to enact.

It's always been the way. There's never been an attitude of you lost, get over it. Just accept those NHS cuts, those student fee increases, those welfare cuts etc. That's never been said. There's always been an acceptance of the result, but then an open forum where it's allowed to question the best way of going forward after that result.

Until the referendum, that is. Then came the pathetic "you lost, just accept it" rhetoric. Utterly stupid reaction.

It's argued by some that all Brexit voters are thick, unsophisticated beings. I don't necessarily agree. But, comments like this which just instantly try to shut down any discussion on the subject (even when replying to a person who has accepted the result) make you think that their assessment of the average Brexit voters intellect might not be too far off the mark.
