Can’t believe I missed him out, Gravenkaard

A drab attempt at a song for him… https://x.com/mrmattyjohnson/status/1840113181273751610?s=46

Yes he has / is. He’s a boring, miserable, Postman Pat look-a-like, Chelsea cunt…. Doesn’t mean he isn’t an all time great keeper.

Jones for Szoboszlai and I'd start the same team as v Wolves. Like Milan, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tsmiskas or Gakpo start. It would be nice to get a few early goals and make changes ahead of Palace, keep everybody fresh, ultimately, just fucking win. -

Announcing dates at 1pm tomorrow… The international break in September’25 is 1-12th, if they could play somewhere I want to go during that window, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think that is a bit harsh. We have had a favourable start and results have been a bit better than performances, I don’t think our start should be dismissed. I do wonder if there is a bit of mentality shift we’re struggling with slightly at the moment. The more patient build up could drop into sloppiness, like Forest & yesterday. Forest were happy to let us have the ball and we fell into their trap and yesterday was just an odd game. IMO, we need to fine tune striking a better balance. I actually think playing against better sides might be a benefit to us. Bigger games, more motivation, better atmosphere, better sides will come out, play and attack us more.

BLASPHEMY !!!

As high as I am on Gravenberch, he’s had 6/7 good games so far. Mac Allister has been pretty good for >50 games for us. They are looking a good combination.

I thought Ait-Nouri was decent again last night. Mo rarely gets much out of him. Needs to be more consistent in his defensive work, I think he’d flourish in a better side. I’ve generally thought Tsmiskas was decent back up for Robbo, I’m starting to lose a bit of confidence in Tsmiskas recently.

Where is episode 2?

I see they play Fulham at home next. Although I expect them to win, Fulham are on a good run and City might start to doubt themselves a little now. Plus, cometh the hour, cometh the man…

Szoboszlai might be doing the defensive side of the game well, he’s certainly covering a lot of distance, I’m not impressed with his contribution with the ball this season, he’s just too casual on it. Definitely think Jones is worth a go in the #10 position. Appreciate Elliott isn’t really built for covering long distances, he doesn’t have the physical attributes of Jones & Szoboszlai, I’ve no issues with his quality on the ball. I would never say Elliott doesn’t work hard. If we continue playing with a #10, I can see why we’re being linked with Wirtz and Musiala.

I genuinely think Vince and Mr McMahon have become the same person.

I think that is very harsh. A lot of our moves start with Mac Allister, he might not swing the ball around like Alonso did, he plays a role of similar importance.
-
He’s not playing well though. I don’t deny there is plenty of endeavour and he does the press etc well, he’s just not doing it on the ball. I’m not convinced he’s actually doing what Slot is asking of him either. Elliott would have the same endeavour. I think he’d have more quality on the ball. He just doesn’t have Szoboszlai’s physical attributes, as Neville said last season, Elliott is a bit of a Bernardo Silva player. I think Jones there makes sense. He’s came into the side as a left winger / 10-ish. I don’t think he has the pace like Mane or Diaz to play there for the first team. Hendo / Thiago / Gini / Fabinho were all more deeper players than Jones, he was being force to play a more restrained game. Maybe this is the position for him? He puts a shift in and rarely wastes a pass, even if it’s overly safe (which might be because of the deeper role). I hope playing him further forwards allows him to be a bit more of the maverick he was when he broke into the side.

I agree. Mac Allister & Gravenberch won’t be fit all season. I do like Jones, I also find him very frustrating - he takes too long and goes backwards too often. Szoboszlai needs to pull his finger out. He might run about a lot, he’s too lax on the ball. I get the impression he isn’t the most intelligent player.
-
Don’t agree with that. Mac Allister has been very good in an understated way, he’s also being more closely marked this season. Szoboszlai though… I completely agree with that. I think Jones should start in that #10 position on Weds.
-
Did he take over form Villas-Boas? They weren’t great under him. Still, I’d settle for winning the CL at the end of the season.
-
Players improving with coaching? Blasphemy.

I think I agree. Has their been any coaches who had great starts and then fell away the more they coached the players and changed it? Not saying it will happen to Slot, genuine question. Can’t really remember it with the bigger clubs, although taking over from a good position isn’t a normal situation.

Not sure Konate can complain after their goal and his performance for the 10 mins afterwards! Personally, I think Alisson should have collected it, however, Konate’s performance was rocked afterwards. Probably both at fault.
