He needs to seriously improve his quality on the ball, otherwise I’ll be making the Oyvind Szoboszlai/ Dominik Leonhardsen nickname stick.

Just came in to post more or less the same.

I strongly think we should still try for another midfielder in January. I know we have the numbers for players to play there (I think I counted 8/9 last month), I'm not sure the quality is there if we get a medium term injury to somebody. Jones has done a good job for England u21's there, I think Elliott could do a good job, I think Szoboszlai could do a reasonable job there (that would require a re-jig of the current set up...Chiesa at 10?), Slot doesn't seem to fancy Endo, Morton & McConnell are untested at the highest level and I don't like Trent in there. If we're serious about challenging for multiple trophies again, unless those not getting game time can make a significant step up, I think we need more depth in there.

I’m in 2 minds about 7-Hag now. They get a couple of good results this week and limp on a bit further. Sack him at the end of the season and there might be somebody good available. They have 2 bad results this week, he gets the sack and they replace him with, erm, well, that’s the question, is there anybody? Southgoat? Potter? Van Nistelrooy? Southgoat & Potter would at least get 18m, they won’t turn them round and then they’ll enter the 26/27 season in an equally average position.

We don't like players shooting from outside the box because it's statistically a lower chance of scoring than if we make an extra pass. I do agree with you though, the space seems to open up for a shot, the doesn't know what to do and then gives it away.
