  1. Some great points on here. Pundits are paid for their opinions. Some are better than others yes, but they are never going to please everyone all the time, so will always get stick all the time. On transfers, FSG have deservedly taken stick for the last window, they were far too slow/reluctant to act, but overall I'm fairly content with them. It's all about how you'd like your club to be run. For me, I can't think of anything worse than being owned by a middle eastern country or a Russian drug dealer etc, with unlimited money and no soul.
  2. Fabio Silva, a costly geek. Gave me a laugh! There needs to be a major review of all the shit VAR assisted decisions at the end of the season, it just has to be looked at. Who knows how many there's been already. Won't hold my breath though.
  3. Yeah, good point. I had a feeling I'd missed someone. Unfortunately he's easily forgettable.
  4. Horrible game. Certain players being below what we know is their best is something that can be worked on, but can't do anything about our injuries. It's unbelievable. Last night we had missing; Alisson Van Dijk Gomez Matip Fabinho Mané Jota 5, maybe 6 of them are in our best starting 11. Only teams owned by drug dealers or countries have the back up to cope with that.
  5. A great away win, no bastard VAR or ref stitch up, nice touchline moment between player & manager. We ride again.
  6. Brilliant. The kind of performance we've been spoiled with for the last few years. Hopefully as you say, that's the corner turned. At last a report to do about a great win and we've still been stiffed by officials. What in the fuck is happening here? Milner, what a player. That one near the end when he was flinging himself into everything and ended up looping the ball into our box. Had me laughing and shouting "nooooo" together!
  7. All things considered, that's the least shit I've felt about a loss to them for a while. It's still smarts, but I was more angry about the 0-0 last week. We saw what are hopefully the first shoots of recovery growing from the bag of manure we've been in for a bit. We all know the front 3 have been poor, but pretty much all of them have been to one degree or other. Even Robbo hasn't looked himself. It's a collective slump for the many reasons Dave has covered so well for a while. Thiago has looked very good and also very average, who hasn't lately? A note on Portugese Gyllfi. His importance to that lot cant be underestimated. He has been fucking phenomenal. Whether he lasts we'll see, but in a year he has dragged those fuckers back from nowhere. The twat..
  8. Always want to read these Dave so keep 'em coming. We have to take the shit times when they come along, and this is a whole new level of shit in every way off the pitch, but nothing we haven't seen a hundred times on it. Apart from the officiating, which is also a whole new level of shit. I'm struggling with that stuff. My eyes tell me we are getting done over much more often than anyone else, but is it my bias? Just frustration at results? Why do you think, as it appears, that we are being targeted? It just seems too mental to believe, yet we see it pretty much every match. We aren't out of the race yet. We have the European & F.A cups ahead. I know its not fashionable to say it anymore, but the FA cup still means something to me (probably my age). If you have a great team, but they have an off year and don't do well in the big 2, then you try to keep that winning mentality going by picking up a cup.
  9. Excellent summary of current affairs Dave. Each thing compounds the other resulting in an overall feeling of gloom. I'm trying to take any positive from it, like despite this shitty patch we're still only 3 or 4 points off, but it is a challenge at the moment I'll admit. Nobody's won or lost anything yet and there's still a lot of footy to be played. I hate using the officiating as an excuse but you just can't ignore it as it's fucking scandalous. It has to be raised and highlighted somehow but as you say, the main reason we've dropped points over the last 4 games is the front 3 without a doubt. Culprit #1 is Bobby. He is getting into good positions but making a mess of it every time. I'm afraid to say he is shocking at the moment Mo is #2 and the worrying thing for me is he's not getting into positions, he's being mostly nullified. I agree he seems to be playing for himself, and I wonder how much that is rubbing off on the other 2. #3 is Mané but at least you can see he's trying, it just isn't happening for him. I think we should drop both Bobby & Mo, play Shaq and Minamino up there for Burnley. Just to shake it up a bit and maybe it'll help liven up Mané.
  10. I don't do much of social media, I guess it's great for some things, but it's just too easy for twats to be, well, twats. If you are not of that mindset, i.e a twat, then you will never understand why they do it. A few non-virtual smacks to the gob might wake them up from their keyboards to the real world. I get what your saying about footy at the moment, it can be difficult to watch for all the reasons you've pointed out, but it's still footy, so I'm still uncontrollably drawn to it. There's so much on at the moment it's impossible to watch it all (unless that's your job!), but I'll always watch any that I can. "Tony the cunt" fits best!
  11. Absolutely spot on with the lot. Concerns over form and officiating are both growing with every game. As Klopp said after the game, the football they can do something about, the officiating.... No one else gives a fuck about it, they just laugh, take the piss, or gloss over it. I often question whether I'm just being too one-eyed, too biased. I watch these things over and I just can't help seeing that we are getting blatantly stiffed. That challenge on Milner, if that had been a Liverpool player it would have been more than a 50% chance of being a red card, and they would defo have VAR'd the shit out of it.
  12. Happy New Year to you too Dave. Thanks for all the round ups, rmatch reports & weeks that was through what was a hell of a year! They are always something to look forward to, rain or shine. Let's hope '21 brings a bit more shine!
  13. Spot on report, and what a fitting match to be played in Gerard's memory. What wasn't fitting was that twat Mourinho's post match interview. He always goes into deflect mode after losing a game, but that shit was unprofessional, deluded and almost childlike. Because he's been having a decent spell again it's all "ho ho, Jose's back on form." He should have been slaughtered for those comments after his team, although the score doesn't reflect it, were pretty much battered by a side missing so many players, and whose crown they are meant to be challenging. Fabinho man of the match for me, just.
  14. I originally thought it might be good, to change those obviously unjust decisions, such as the Wolves penalty the other night. But it is a farce at the moment. They need to take it away, clarify some rules, and test it properly before we ever see it again in any form. I won't apologise for thinking it might be good, as it could and should have been, but I totally agree it has to go.
  15. Totally agree with everything there, a draw was fair. As you say, and similar to a couple of times we've played them lately, we didn't make the most of our spell on top. I'd like to know how many times we've been screwed by VAR as opposed to how often we've benefited. And by benefited I mean had a decision that is just plain wrong go for us, not decisions that are correctly overturned? It's good technology, but it's being operated by absolute fucknuggets.
  16. Good round up Dave, well done for getting some humour in there! That Lamela incident, even though it was the Mancs who suffered you just can't help being angered by it, and it was just absolutely staggering that VAR did nothing about it. Why they didn't tell the ref to go and view it on the monitor who knows, unbelievable.
  17. Good write up to an utter embarrassment of a match. I only saw highlights of the Stoke game but thought at the time that that has to be the worst I'd ever see from any Liverpool side in my lifetime. Wrong. It's made absolutely incomprehensible because this is one of the best Liverpool sides I've ever seen. Aston fucking Villa. My God, there is just no explanation.
  18. Tremendous work fella, these are always good, but that is another level. Why I pays me money! "Ralph Hassenthwrththehwel" Made me dribble me tea that did.
  19. "I guess being Smithers to Pep’s Mr Burns has it’s advantages when it comes to how people perceive you." Haha, brilluant that!
  20. Marvellous report on a slightly mad game at the end of a totally mental season. I've felt a little bit detached since we won it, it's all seemed a bit surreal, but watching them finally lift that big ugly trophy has brought a touch of reality to what these lads have achieved. Just really, really incredible stuff that will probably take a while to properly sink in, but will be remembered alongside the greatest succeses we've had. Looking forward to the mag also.
  21. Great write up as always. Bernardo Silva defo seems to be a bit of a knob. Portuguese players just seem to have "snidey" inbuilt into them. Had to look up the meaning of "Phyrric victory". Educational 'an all!
  22. Good report Dave. This game has just added to my overall feeling of quiet satisfaction at being champions instead of the all guns blazing, hell for leather fuck all you bastards glee that it should be. Its daft, but I can't shake it. Just like the derby, you just knew after an hour we were getting absolutely nothing from the game, it was so frustrating. And it is never, ever, ok to lose a game 4-0, to anyone, anytime. It should always sting. I said to a mate last night that if you had to picture a smug, full of himself looking Manc, then you wouldn't go far wrong with Foden, but I'd forgotten about Terry Christian. Very good player though, unfortunately.
  23. 30 years eh, where has it gone? I was a very young man in 1990! I think maybe it's a bit different for those of us who have seen us win it before, I would think most were a little bit subdued when it happened without playing. The best scenario would have been to have won it against Palace, playing like that, showing everyone how and why we are champions. But truth be told, the overriding feeling for me so far is of great pride in the team, great satisfaction in having done it in such a way, but that we've been robbed of our time, of our celebration. I'm meeting a couple of mates tonight to watch and have a few beers in celebration, hopefully that livens me up a bit!
  24. Terrible game and performance, the fake crowd noise added to the annoyance and frustration of watching it. The way City have shot out of the blocks is making it look and feel worse, hopefully Wednesday will see us a bit more fired up. What a relief though to see them back out there, to be able to play this season out and take whatever may come knowing it was done as normally as can be. And wouldn't it be glorious to see Lovren score the golden goal! He isn't quite good enough for us, but he does not deserve the disgusting stick he takes from some of our "support".
  25. Haha, just showing some appreciation to a fella I've never met. I've lived down south for years, and don't get to go the match much anymore. For a long time this website, and before it the fanzine, has kept me in touch with things in a way I can relate to and understand. Helps me still feel a part of it all in a way. If I ever do meet him I'll shake his hand (if we're still allowed to!) and buy him a bevvy.
