  1. Are you some sort of mod oh here - or Professor Emeritus hired to adjudicate the quality of posts and posters and the balance of the debate? You sure make a lot of references to those topics. Really odd considering your anti Rafa obsession.
  2. Yossi under the influence of a truth drug. (This written in Bascombe style - i.e. I made it up). Yossi why did you go to LFC? Because Rafa wanted me and I wanted to work with him and he offered me more er....money. But if Rafa was such a nasty man and so difficult to work with and would not guarantee you a starting position in the first team why did you accept his offer of a new contract in 2009 to work with him until 2013? More er...money And why did you want to join Chelsea? More er....money Did the nice Mr Ancelloti who respects players guarantee you a starting place in the first team? No but he offered me more er....money And how long will you stay at Chelsea? Until somebody offers me more er....money. Finally, why did you insist on proceeding with the transfer to Chelsea once Rafa had left LFC? I already told you. More er....money.
  3. Should start a poll on whether Bascombes a cunt or a twat, don't think there are many other options Could you amend that choice to a professional or amateur. He's amateur in that he's not very good at it and professional in that he gets paid about 2,000 quid a week for his 400-500 lines of anti-Rafa gossip/propaganda on Sunday.
  4. I notice how you and the other anti-Rafa zombies changed your reasoning from - Yossi was told he had to leave by Rafa before the last game to - Yossi left because he could not stand Rafa.
  5. You should know about denial. You deny your own serialized hatred of Rafa paraded on here for two years even when we were 2nd and scoring more points than ever before. You and Bascombe deserve each other.
  6. This may not be the right thread but I cant start a new one. It seems that Hodgson has surrendered the role Rafa had to approve the buying and selling of players. It looks like its Purslows train set now. Roy Hodgson is impressed with Emiliano Insua, but the Liverpool manager admits “talks with Fiorentina have already started.” The Viola have been linked with the 21-year-old wing-back for several weeks and it seems negotiations are reaching a key stage. “I saw him play in the last three days and I like him both as a player and on a personal level,” Hodgson told Radio Blu in Florence. “However, talks with Fiorentina started before I got here, so I don’t know how advanced they are. “I cannot say if Insua will stay at Liverpool or not. I’ll have to discuss that with the club.” The Italian media is confident that Argentine international Insua will join Fiorentina over the summer. 7. Benny thought his performance last year warranted him a guaranteed starting place and he told Rafa as such informing him that he was prepared to leave if Rafa did not give him a guarantee. Rafa told him he needed him and gave him a new contract to 2013. Rafa then selected him for critical matches, but Benys form had fallen off from the previous seasons standard. Beny then tried to pressure Rafa again to give him a starting place and again said he would leave and instructed his agent to start making soundings. Rafa said go if you want to. The transfer was held up until Hodgson could approve it. He did. I suppose we should be grateful that Beny did not take his tittle tattle to the Sxx but he did the next best thing in spilling his guts to its sister rag and its resident gossip.
  8. Talking of "senior players" making disparaging remarks about Benitez (or stabbing him in the back). Its over a month now and the Captain and Vice-Captain of LFC have made no comment about Rafa's leaving. Both of them have been full of gab about other things. No other senior players would have done that to Rafa - not Pepe, Dirk, Masch, Torres. Rafa said he had good relations with all but 2%. My guess is that Purslow's little helper was Carragher with Gerrard playing his usual game of sitting on the fence waiting to see which way the wind blows. Riera would be another but he is not a senior player. Its been about three days since Carragher made one of his weekly "look at me" announcements. The last one was his laughable second permanent retirement from international football. We are about due for another public lecture in which he will imply that only he has the LFC Holy Grail. He should keep his mouth shut and concentrate on getting fit and focused so we want have to watch him stumble through another 8 weeks at the beginning of the season giving away own goals, making crucial defensive errors and cursing everyone but himself.
  9. By definition, paranoia is an "irrational or unreasonable fear". The arguments against Purslow have been rational and reasonable and therefore they are not the product of paranoia. One of the symptoms of paranoia is fake rationality - the neurotic repetition of a set of reasons or arguments that are not based in reality and serve to disguise the unreasonable fear that generates them. In using the term paranoia Code72 was probably reflecting his personal experience in which for several years he has been muttering a set of loony analysis to expose the evil influence Rafa has on players, the club and the world at large and how, if it were not for Rafa, Code 72 would be manager of LFC.
  10. Among the sneaky things Purslow did was to claim credit for the appointment of Kenny. Some of the anti-Rafa Taliban on here were only too keen to deny Rafa credit and hand it to Purslow. But when the crunch came it was Rafa who recommend Kenny for the manager's job and Purslow who omitted him from the short list. He even claimed to his friends in the media that Kenny had put them in a difficult situation by making his availability for the job known.
  11. He was brought in (a) because Purslow did not have the credibility or expertise in the financial markets to raise the funds he was hired to raise and (b) because potential buyers of the club were reluctant to enter a process involving Purslow and the Yanks. A secondary question is why did Broughton allow himself to be drafted and to put his reputation at risk by association with these same people? I don't know. But I suspect (a) there is potentially a lot of money in it for him (b) he is paying off some favours to those who introduced him or he is hoping to get future favours from them © poor judgment.
  12. Because Gerrard wants to be wooed but nobody is wooing him. He's not good enough for Real Madrid and nobody else wants to pay his kind of wages or pamper him the way he gets pampered at LFC. But he's still hoping. Torres has a perfectly good reason to leave. He was persuaded to come to LFC by Rafa. His form and his reputation blossomed under Rafa. He renewed his contract last year on the basis of strong assurances from LFC that Rafa was at the centre of its long-term plans. Unlike the Gerrard situation, there are several teams willing to buy him and meet and exceed his current salary and they are more likely to be about to have multiple years challenging for top honours than LFC since Rafa left.
  13. Well said! But you are wasting your reasoning on the anti-Rafa Taliban. They defend Purslow soley because he undermined Rafa. Their motto is "the enemy of Rafa is my friend". Not one of them have given any other positive reason to justify Purslow's continuing in his position. They're not worth debating.
  14. Gerrard is not going to tell Hodgson that he is leaving for two good reasons: 1. No team has asked to buy him. Hodgson knows this. 2. If he were to receive an offer - something I find unlikely - he would not talk to Hodgson about it, but to Purslow.
  15. This thread proves you are cracking up. I'd like to think its your guilty conscience about Rafa Like the treacherous MacBeth you see Banquo's ghost everywhere. But I think you're just flapping around until you get the party-line from Bascombe - who is also flapping. Bascombe's problem? How do I report this incident in a way that will not upset and might even please my Lord Cecil,
  16. By that criteria you have won every discussion you have entered.
