Quite hard to define a legend really, consider the fact that the vast majority of this clubs greatest nights over the past 5 or so years have been when Dirk has scored.

Lagos, is my favourite to be honest, decent music and not full of nobs.

With the Alan Green thing, and this we're risking muddying the waters a bit. It's an issue, but in the grand scheme of things...

You've got to give him an extra year, if we don't improve he'll pay the price for that. It's simple really.

That's a fair point, I wasn't exactly against the decision to sell Xabi originally.

I'm so happy with this shirt. Hopefully will give the players the confidence to score so they can look shit hot. It's all about the confidence.

The EDL where travelling somewhere at the same time a certain team from Merseyside where travelling down to London. When I was on the coach another passed on the right hand side, and waved to me as they went passed, so naturally I waved back, as they overtook a massive flag saying 'Fuck Islam' went passed. Needless to say i felt like a massive tool.

The stats are there. We win more games when he starts, He scores more goals when he starts, and perhaps for the first time in a long time we actually look a more rounded side when he's in the starting line up. He's not just 'putting himself out a bit', he's genuinely making a valid contribution to the team which merits a starting place. His link up play is improving, everything is improving. Which isn't surprising considering he's still young. Next season is a big one for him. With the right additions we'll have a squad worthy of a top four finish.

Not starting Andy in the final was worse than when Rafa didn't start Crouch in Athens. Really think Andy is boss, he's just amazing. I love you Andy

You've got to give Kenny the chance to give this team an identity
Antynwa replied to Antynwa's topic in FF - Football Forum
Probably not, but then again two wrongs don't make a right now do they? If I recall correctly I made that post in pre-season.- 678 replies

Antynwa replied to Antynwa's topic in FF - Football Forum
I think they where Kenny's players but DC dictated the price, I don't think that was the only reason DC got sacked. But if you consider we where also in for Phil Jones and Young, there was still supposed to me money to burn but we wasted it all.- 678 replies

Antynwa replied to Antynwa's topic in FF - Football Forum
I'm not going to talk about Rafa because we've done it before, and if yesterday was a migraine treating it into going to a room where everyone is shouting isn't going to work. Kenny deserves another year, if he doesn't improve, he'll pay the price.- 678 replies

Be it quality, be it luck, be it time. We need it to give Kenny time to build an identity of the side. At the moment we really don't know how to define our style of play, prior to the summer you could say pass and move was back, after this it's like, well it's a mix of hoof, and it's a mix of give the ball away and move. We know we've been shit for the vast majority of this season, two cup finals, and one win doesn't disguise that, it hasn't been as if we've been ignoring the shocking football, we know we need to improve. So what do we do? The overwhelming consensus on the coach back was we need to keep him for a year and give him a chance, and we all agreed he'll pay the price if we don't improve, but you know what, I think we will improve. We're approaching the cross roads that the Chelsea Squad did under Boas, granted the Chelsea squad are much better. But there are similarities in the sense we have old players surrounded by young ones, with the likes of Hendo, Shelvey, Carroll, Agger, Johnson, Kelly, Robinson, Suarez We now have the chance to give this relatively young team a style of play to take into the coming years, rome wasn't built in a day and sacking the manager really doesn't help with consistency, 3 Liverpool managers in the space of 18 months or so? Give me a break. I've never been a fan of the 4 year plans, but I think I realised yesterday just how far away we are, the team selection was bad, but the quality on the pitch just simply wasn't there, but you had Jay Spearing and Jordan Henderson coming up against the likes of Lampard and there really was only going to be one winner. A total mis match in midfield and the clinical edge they had when we gave the ball away was there to see, sometimes you've just got to hold your hands up and say you really deserved fuck all from the game, Carroll really only shone for me. I still believe in Kenny, I still want him to stay, but we need an identity now, we're going to face IMO another 2 years challenging for the top four and nothing more, but I want to stick, I want to give these lads another chance at it and I want to give Kenny another chance as well. We have some talent there, but we have some young talent, give them the time. Next year is big year for the club, Carroll's got to keep going, Hendo has to improve, Speo had to improve, Downing has to improve. If we add a clinical edge to our game, and an identity as to what our style of play is we'll be okay. If they prove to be shit they'll pay the price. We just seem unorganised, and like Bambi caught in the headlights half the time. Lets stick for the first time in a while, lets try and build something this summer. PS. FWIW I've heard Martinez is lined up in the summer.

In the spirit of another FA Cup Final. I thought it would be nice to share memories about your first ever cup final. Mine was the 2001 FA Cup Final. I was about 10 at the time, and went with my Dad. I remember my Dad bringing the ticket with him when he picked me up from school, I was showing all my mates being the big show off I was. Now to to the day itself, Bacon and Egg butties at 5 in the morning, me Dad had packed a cool box full of other shite, we got picked up by our friend who drove us there and back. It was a decent car, I think it was Vauxhall Vectra, brand new. I had my full Liverpool Kit on, a scarf and I had some J-LO On me CD to play on the way which was boss. Took us a few hours to get there, and it was fucking boiling, I just remember the heat being so intense. We went to the Mitre Pub and watched Soccer AM I think, or something like that was on the tele. They had a BBQ out back and it was ace, I had been to a few games prior to this, but this was different this was special. We walked around the city, through the castle, Dad was drunk as a fart, and i got my programme, and got one of those horns. Cue headaches all round. Oh and it was boiling, did I mention it was boiling. Now to the game itself, I was smack bang in the middle of the upper tier behind the goal, about 2 rows from the front. The hot weather was just simply too much and I just had scarf, my horn and my liverpool shirt over my back. I can't really remember much about the game itself to be honest, all I remember was crying my eyes out when Ljunberg scored. I was devastated, I was in buckets, my Liverpool Shirt was soaked in tears. However, when we came back, it was crazy everyone was holding me up, I shit myself at one point because I thought i was going to fall! I can honestly say that it was the best moment I've ever felt going the match, it was an incredible feeling, the day, the occasion, I know Owen isn't loved anymore, but part of me still loves him for that, he was my hero as a kid. On the way home, Dad kipped in the back and I sat in the front, on the way out of Cardiff a bunch of Arsenal Fans in a people carrier shouted 'Good Luck in Dortmund', I gave them 2-1 with my fingers and then got slapped by me Dad. What a knob, me I mean, not me Dad. Being the young impressionable fan I was, the driver taught me the words to Poor Scouser Tommy, How he dealt with me I'll never know. We got home just as the sun was setting over Merseyside, what a day. You see, we had this discussion about what is best, fourth or trophies. You can't buy memories like this, you can buy players, but you can't buy the feelings you get when you lift the cup. It'll remain my best ever cup final, until hopefully this week, when I see the reds at Wembley again.
