  1. Reina is one of the most difficult players for us to replace, if not THE most difficult. As many have said on here, I just don't see the obvious replacements. That said, there seems to be the feel-good factor back at the club and Kenny has bought the pride back. He has bought the philosophy of the club is bigger than anyone back, so we will move on if needs be. I would be gutted if he left and I hope its all paper talk, but I just have a bad feeling that he will go. If he does want to go, I would want it demanding that he can only go abroad though as I wouldn't want to see him coming back to Anfield with another English club.
  2. Those who have said they want the likes of O'Neill coz we are in a relegation fight then you need to sort your head out. If we get a decent manager in who can motivate the players and actually play them in a their best positions in a formation that allowed a bit of attacking freedom then we wouldn't be in a relegation fight in a few weeks time! We need to be planning for the long term future too not just the next few months and if our ambitions are going to maintain how they should be for this football club then we need a world class manager that is going to get us playing the right way. Whether Rijkaard is that man I am sceptical, but one thing is for certain, O'Neill isn't.
  3. Fuckin hell Carra has been an excellent servant and is deserving of a new contract. I think Carra has been more exposed and made to look worse than he actually is particularly because of Johnson. Johnson is defensively inept and as a result the whole defence is under more pressure than it should but Carra will feel that effect moreso being on the right sided centre half
  4. Its early days to start making apologies. I think judgement should be reserved until the sale has gone through and the details regarding it come in to the public domain. But on the face of it, it does appear that a lot of people may have misjudged Ayre and Purslow in particular just because they were appointed by them pair of cunts
  5. Just heard a rumour that the last time we played Arsenal first game of the season was in 1985, Dalglish's first game in charge as Player / Manager??? Don't know how true that is but lightning could strike twice, except hopefully he wont be player / manager this time! ha
  6. Just been told the derbies this season are 16th Oct at Goodison and 15th Jan at Anfield. We are home first game coz Everton are away to B'burn first game. Fixtures are out at 9am
  7. I do not think that Johnson would be even half as effective playing in midfield. His strength is overlapping and taking advantage of lazy wingers who cannot tackle or do not track back. A lot of the time he gets the space he does due to the fact that Dirk is occupying the full back. If he was playing in midfield he would get marked too tight and wouldn't be as productive. I agree 3 at the back isn't really an option as we have no-one to play as a left wing back who could do a good enough job. I think if he doesn't play Agger left back (I do think he will though after resting him against Brum) that he could even play Masch there and play LL and AA in the middle.
  8. After standing in the Glwady and hearing them bitter bastards sing 'murders' though the Hillsborough minutes silence, I will never had them and their lot more than any other. I have good mate who are blues and sound with it, but the bad bitter twisted blues far outweigh the sound few. For that I will always despise the shite more than united. I don't really see much of the United fans in person and that may be a reason why I don't hate them as much, but the way the media cream over them winds me up something rotten. But it could never be to the extent that the shite do. There are too many of their lot who would rather they got relegated if it meant we went with them. They would rather we lost than they won. As Shanks once said, there is no such thing as an Evertonian, they are just anti-Liverpudlians.....
  9. I know Al has been very controversial at times on here and he isn't to everyone's liking, but you can't have anything other than respect for what he's done and is going to continue to do. Spot on mate, actually trying to do something about the dire situation we are in, instead of doing what the majority of fans (me included) do and just moan about it on forums! Class work by the both of you and Mick.
  10. This annoys me more than anything!! I was at the bus stop the other day and the bus before mustn't have turned up. Anyway, there was one big fat arl feller in front of me who looked like he was going to stand right by where you get on all day and there are a few different buses that come to this bus stop so it wasn't obvious that he was going to get on mu bus. So I brush passed him and heard him muttering to himself 'I've been waiting here for over 20 minutes you prick and you just push on'. He was lucky he was pension age otherwise I'd have lamped him! :telloff: And I didn't know that there was a rule that you got on the bus in order of how long you've been at the bus stop!!!!!
  11. Just so you all know. The match is DEFINITELY OFF. My mate runs a bar in the ground and he has just had a phone call to confirm its definitely off.
  12. I am disappointed we are not playing as mentioned before because Lennon is going to be back for the re-arranged game and will skin Insua repeatedly. But I think that the club are taking in to consideration that the weather is forecast to get worse and snow again early hours Sunday in sub-zero temperatures which will only make matters worse
  13. Me and my mate knocked a massive table full of ale over in the First National when Yossi banged that goal in, and no-one cared as they were all reds and were too busy bouncing all over the show and singing songs with us to care. This was the moment that made every Liverpool fan, no matter how pessimistic (and they don't come more pessimistic than LFC Brian!) believe that it was finally our year and we was going to do it. As many have said already, what a difference 9 months makes..... :wallbutt:
  14. Pele was saying he was the best player he's every played with and all that! A fascinating individual and player. I will be taking up your suggestion!
  15. In his book, Pele goes on about him a lot and I have seen a documentary about him and he looked amazing! He had really bandy legs that allowed him to change direction really quickly and he skinned many a defender as a result!
