  1. Assuming that is an accurate report......... How fucking brilliant is it to hear that Mrs. Benitez (she'll always be Mrs. Benitez to me) loves the club, the people and the city of LIV to not even bother considering any move to Madrid..... for now. Oh RAFA I Love you more than ever. And I know I'll Love you even more once 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 AND 6 & 7 arrive. We're not stoping at 19 & 5.... I'll tell you right fuckin' now This bodes well for interesting times this December......
  2. Nice win.......... We did the basics well.... the simple pass and move..... Leiva looking more and more impressive..... Encouraging signs that positive momentum is building......... Anybody have links to Rafa's press conference after the game?
  3. Proud of the boys, and proud of their effort..... not the ideal result..... But slowly but surely, the tide is turning...... Amen to that..... Oh and why were so many people leaving before fulltime?
  4. The more I hear from him, the more I Love this kid..... Man Love..... is that so wrong..... Break the bank if need be for The Chief........ Apologies if this link has been posted earlier...... Mods please delete as you see fit! From the Official...... http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N157399071023-1045.htm READ OUR EXCLUSIVE MASCHERANO INTERVIEW Jimmy Rice 23 October 2007 Javier Mascherano admits Liverpool's poor start to the Champions League means every game is now akin to a cup final. In an exclusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv, the Argentine revealed he and his teammates can't afford anything other than a win in Besiktas on Wednesday night after picking up just one point from their opening two Group A games. The Liverpool number 20 also reflected on his first ever Merseyside derby, insisting it is as big as any of the massive rivalries in his native South America. Part one of the interview is below. Stay logged on to Liverpoolfc.tv for Mascherano's Arsenal preview and his thoughts on our title chances later in the week. Well Javier, you played in your first Merseyside derby on Saturday – how was it? I've been fortunate to experience a few good derbies in my career: Argentina v Brazil; Corinthians v Palmeiras; Boca v River. But the fact these two teams are here in the same city makes it all the more massive. It's such an occasion, so the Merseyside derby is right up there. How much did that win mean to the players? A victory in a derby is always good for team spirit and morale. It means you go into the next challenge on a high. Everyone is always happy when you win these games, so it's worth more than three points. It gives us a boost going into Wednesday night, which is a crucial game, and hopefully we can get the points we need. Did the celebrations we saw at the final whistle continue in the dressing room and into the evening? Yes, sure. We did celebrate and it did carry on into the dressing room. When you are at Liverpool you are accustomed to winning big games, like Barcelona and Chelsea last year, and afterwards you have to celebrate. But you soon have to concentrate and focus on the next game ahead, and that's what we're doing. What was going through your mind when Dirk Kuyt stepped up to take that late penalty? I was just hoping and praying he'd put it away. It's not easy knowing everyone is dependent on what you are about to do. He showed so much character – all I could do was hope it went in. Next up is the Champions League – you really have to improve on the previous two performances, don't you? From now on every game is a final – at least in the group stages. We have to get three points, we have no other option. With the defeat to Marseille we've made things difficult for ourselves, but a win on Wednesday would go a long way to putting our destiny back in our own hands. We'll certainly be going into the game with a lot of desire and a lot of will to win. Is there perhaps so much attention on your Premier League challenge that your European form is suffering? No. I think that we've got a big enough squad. We have pretty much two players battling for every position, so we're able to battle on all fronts. Things didn't turn out well against Marseille but we can start to turn that round with three points in Istanbul. If I asked you to pick between winning the Premier League and winning the Champions League, which would you go for? I want to win both. I think the answer is easy – we try to win everything we enter. I know that's difficult, but we really do try to pull out all the stops. Our fate is in the hands of him upstairs, he'll decide what we win. All we can do is give our all. Will anything other than a win do in Besiktas? Absolutely not. We are already playing catch-up in the Champions League because we haven't got our first win, so that's what we need to do. Considering you need the points, will you go there looking to attack from the first minute? I think the manager will have a plan and we might not be going all out attack, but what we certainly will be doing is going there to bring those three points back home. It's going to be a very hostile atmosphere over there – will that bother you and your teammates? It's always great to have the fans behind you but at the end it's just 11 players against 11. What's going on around the pitch shouldn't have too much of an influence. You just have to get on with it. Liverpool have never played Besiktas but they have a few Argentineans in their side – will you be giving Rafa the lowdown on those? Yes, I am familiar with one or two of their Argentinean players and Brazilians too. Ricardinho is one and also Higuain. I have played with some of these guys, and we will look at how we can keep them quiet while at the same time concentrating on our own performance
  5. Just to stir the pot some more.... Interesting article from The Guardian: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/10/11/time_for_benitez_to_give_gerra.html If this has already been posted, please delete as you mods see fit!
  6. Anyone else having trouble with online streams? Ive got nothing for last half hour...... just endless buffering....... Keep the reports and updates coming guys..... Much appreciated.......
  7. Didn't think this genius deserved a thread, but couldn't be arsed searching the entire GF for an appropriate cut&paste slot. Daft robber writes name on wall http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/manchester/6981558.stm
  8. Couldn't see a thread on The Monster..... I assume you lot have seen his interview below...... http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/features/this_season/FN11754070906-0910.htm He's seems more calm, more happy........ more, more and a damn sight more Monster Masch thanx very much. We absolutely positively have to sign him permanently before JUL'08.
  9. Jermaine in your Avatar looks a dead ringer for John Legend.
  10. Season 3 >>> Episode 22 >> Posse Comitatus Grace was a good album Didn't Jeff Buckley's dad do a version of Hallelujah too?
  11. Cheese and Chips have potential..... though highly dependent on the type of cheese used. You can fuck that Mayo right off though. Back home in AUS, a few fish&chips/yiros/kebab shops served a monster of dish tastefully named 'An Abortion'. As in I'll have an abortion, an iced cofee (Farmers Union, of course) and a chocolate doughnut thanx. You could choose from a lamb, beef or chicken Abortion. Although the chicken was for pussies. An Abortion consisted of large bite size chunks of marinated meat, mixed with chips, garlic sauce, hot chilli sauce and some vinger........ All mashed together to form an unsightly mass of steaming hot food. An Abortion was so named, as the food resembled...... well..... you get the idea. It was without doubt one of the most brilliant things to eat after or while bieng shitfaced. Pure unadulterated fat and protien and the token resistance of carbs from the chips worked wonders to fill you up, line the stomach and get back to work on your liver. Mind you the next morning or whenever your bowels came back online was excrutiating. It felt like shitting concrete blocks and a weight was indeed lifted.
  12. I want Jermaniniho on my the back of my shirt! Although the guys below seem to think Pennino is more accurate. http://www.minimalsworld.net/BrazilName/brazilian.shtml
  13. On occasion.... sometimes..... maybe...... The following link will have the whole game: http://liverpoolclips.blogspot.com/
  14. Really enjoyed the game today. Pity about the shithouse ShitSanta streams on Sopcast.... Don't know too much about Billy Davies bieng a cunt. But I am happy to defer to TLW opinion. Although that Fagan fuckwit should have been sent off for his cheap/dirty/gutless/malicious stamp on Arbelo's calf in the firts half. Cunt. Having watched El Jefe completely dominate teams in the last few weeks, I am more convinced than ever we need to pay full price for this lad, come JUL`08. Even better if we can wrap his transfer by JAN`08. He is fucking unbelievable. Plus the song wouldn't be the same without him. Babel is improving.... slowly but surely. Yossi added some pace and flair when he came on. How impressive is Pennant looking. Not just impressive, but consistent..... Thats even more impressive. Arbeloa, Finnan, Sami and Daniel looked comfortable and Pepe seemed bored. Thats the way I like my defence. It was brilliant to see all the strikers hungry for goals, running hard off the ball and tracking back. Good start to the season. Long may it continue.
  15. I reckon they might be a surprise this year. With their squad they should make a UEFA place easily. The small squad size would be the only issue. Injuries could really peg them back. Yakubu is good signing. Steven Pienaar will work well with Arteta and Cahill and Andy Johnson will run his guts out. Moyes may yet be able to work a miracle. I really couldn't give rat's ass about them, but Cahill is dirty fuckin' cunt. Hes taken over Kevin Muscat in the Cunt stakes.
  16. I am not well versed in the Rules, Regulations and by-laws of the FA or The Premier League. However following common sense (a dangerous precedent, I know) some of the rulings by the arbitration panel seem absurd. Since this is a business transaction and American Dollars are a preferred trading currency of choice in international business, would it have mattered if the original contract was quoted in American Dollars? Use a converter you fuckin' muppets. Regarding Heinze as player..... I'm not convinced. I strongly believe we are well covered at LB. JAR will run all day and has been for that last 5yrs. Aurelio was looking good, Insua looks very promising and Arbeloa seems to hold his own. If we really need a LB, I like the look of Chiellini. Heinze as cover for CB.... maybe. However since my esteemed opinions are based on youtube clips and always watching ManU games with a strong bias and great disdain I may not be the best judge of a player. Rafa has said he wants Heinze. Enough said. Boss Thy Will be done. An added bonus is Heinze fighting tooth and nail to come here. That shows his determination. He really wants to move and we should stick by him for that. That’s the Liverpool Way. On the assumption the above is true or has remnants of truth....... What if Heinze was sold to a European Club.... and then resold to Liverpool... all before 31 AUG '07. Highly unlikely I know..... but imagine the possibilities, no? It's mildly amusing to read some posts that would have preferred Rafa not to speak out. It seems some of you would have preferred to just let things pan out. Bullshit. There’s a time to be gracious, there’s a time to be humble and there are times to be patient. In that last three years Rafa has shown all these qualities in abundance and always......... always exuded class. That’s the Liverpool Way. There’s also a time to unleash the hounds, bring out the bulldog and every other dodgy metaphor/cliché to make a stand and say ENOUGH. We won't put up with this shite anymore. We WILL kick your ass on the pitch and we will NOT tolerate any crap off the pitch. That’s also the Liverpool Way. I am ecstatic Rafa has spoken out. For too long we have been the nice guys of football. Too guarded, too polite, too nice. Ball in the back of the net... Thanks for coming... Fuck off... 3pts LIV
  17. Whats the definition of irony? Your taking the piss......... Surely! Of all places... France??? Then again I guess its just a step from banning ads for cigarettes. And I hazard a guess sporting events in predominantly Islamic nations wouldn't allow alcohol sponsorship or advertising. Funny enough theres a shit load of cigarrete ads in those countries though... But in France???... I need a drink to let that sink in!
  18. Don't know if this had already been asked elsewhere, but........ Anyone know why we didn't have the Carlsberg logo on our tops today? I also didn't see the Champions League Badge on the shirts either.
  19. First things first. Is the computer running slow? Do you mean your applications/processes are slow or the web browser is slow? (1) Switch to a Mac and/or a Unix based machine...... (2) Stop using IE and switch to Opera or Firefox http://www.opera.com or http://www.firefox.com You might have to tweak a few things with Opera, but it will be faster. Firefox is less hassle, just download the program and you're away! Still shits on IE...... its more secure and definately faster. (3) Plonky is right Fuck Norton off and switch to AVG or Avast. http://www.avast.com or http://www.avg.com That takes care of your anti-virus! (4) With regard to processes... you may have too many running on startup..... Thats pretty easy to fix. But before any of this try the following websites........ they are fairly straight forward to follow. http://www.crn.com/white-box/59201471 http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html Also U don't have to follow all their advice, just what you're confident or comfortable with and you will still see results. Disclaimer: If none of the above works and you happen to lose all data in a horrific fuck up........ I am in no way responsible If on the other hand a more likely scenario of all going well occurs..... I will gladly accept black, blonde or asians stunners as payment........... Oh and if all else fails............... Try Rebooting!
  20. During a pissed conversation (these conversations always start under the influence) many years ago, a friend of mine succinctly summed his views on the existance of life outside our planet. Mate..... If ya have a look at how many fucking stars are out there and how fucking tiny we are down here......... Theres no fucking way theres not any fucking life out there..... some fucking where..... After this epiphany of sorts he began to violently empty out most his dinner (KFC), some lunch (pizza) and parts of his stomach lining I'm sure..... Following on from SM4Gravity, the links below outline similar thinking.... albiet a little more clearly. Still does your head in though. Radio Lab from NYC radio station WNYC - Beyond Time http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/episodes/2005/03/04 U can download episodes via Itunes (just look for Radio Lab) or stream the show. In the Beyond Time episode (at about 29:19min) Dr. Brian Greene explains about time existing simultaneously in concurrents spaces....... sort of.... Ah fuck it...... I can't explain it. Have a listen. I strongly recommend downloading the podcasts. The shows are about an hour long each, but sometimes have some real weird shit between interesting articles. Also, I'm a huge fan of Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson (if at all you can be a fan of an astrophysicist). Here he explains what he believes is our place in the universe. Dr. Tyson's bit starts at around 26min... ish, but I recommend you start from 17:58min... it works as a good setup for the rest of the info.
