  1. manchester has had hundreds of millions of pounds poured into it and its still a shithole. Even mansours near billion pounds hasnt changed much beyond a tiny area of eastlands.

And the mancs have stolen many visitor attractions from other places, the football museum in particular. Why the fuck the BBC decided to site the 'media city' in salford, an area not particularly well served by road, one can only wonder.

  2. Sacking a manager after three defeats? Are you drunk?

No, we should sack Rodgers after +3 trophyless seasons, for wasting £250m, valueable funds that could fund a whole new stadium, funds that were generated mostly by selling quality players (e.g. Suarez, Sterling) and cutting the wage bill, we should sack Rodgers for being overall incompetent, for being clueless in the defensive side of the game, for replacing Reina with Mignolet, Suarez with nothing, for Agger's, Sakho's, Illory's treatment.

We should sack Rodgers for his pathetic comments about providing Gerrard with the opportunity to have a standing ovation at the bridge of cunts, for shitting in his pants every time he sees or hears the portuguese shapeshifter, for his briefings about Sterling's texts, after the Jamaican pony pissed all over the club; we should sack Rodgers for being incapable to SHUT the fuck up.

We should sack Rodgers for being a useless, overrated Fraudster, a YESman. Fuck off Rodgers. Fuck off Rodgers.

    Rant-astic!

  3. You get a shallower depth of field, a narrower viewing angle and reduced image stability using zoom, so not quite that simple.

Zooms have a narrower viewing angle. If you move the camera back far enough to recreate the original area, you've lost your zoom ability, lost even more depth of field, and decreased image stability.

Software image stabilisation's a last resort. It's no match for true stability, especially not in a broadcast camera. No matter what type of camera you have though, the longer the lens (zoom) the less stable the image.

Here's why you can't just zoom in from further back:and get the same image

    Nm4ALbl.jpg

The second problem is that of course all cameras shake, but the greater the focal length, each mm of shake becomes multiplied, so a small tremor on a 50mm lens might result in a relatively small blurring on the image, but the same shake on a 200mm lens will result in significantly more blurring.

Most of the image stabilisation in a broadcast quality cam is optical / mechanical stabilisation. Digital image stabilisation is the last resort.

We're getting a bit technical here, and I'm sure Liverpool will have no problems finding a good angle, but still, you can't just move further back and zoom in and get the same image if you're trying to capture a 3d space (not a 3d image). You could only do it if you were trying to capture a flat (2d) image on a wall.

  4. Sad news of 'Little Bamber's' passing. I remember his first goal for Liverpool at old trafford in the 71 FA Cup semi against the shite.

I read he retired from the club's Development team 11 years ago, doesnt seem that long.

    YNWA, Brian.

  5. Unfortunately I can see the little turd doing well there. Aguero and others will be around drawing players off him, allowing him the space to use his speed, exactly the way Suarez and Sturridge did the previous season.

That being said, the eight goals he'll score per season won't be worth the money they paid for him.

Dunno. Suarez was constantly mentoring him during games, telling when and where to go, when to send him and stuff. Are aguero and co going to invest that effort in him now he's a s 'big' a signing as them? Time will tell.

If pelligrini is replaced by pep in a couple of years and pep doesnt fancy him, now that would be funny.

  6. The Professional Footballers' Association has said it is prepared to mediate between Sterling and Liverpool. The PFA performed a similar role when former Reds striker Luis Suarez was the subject of a bid from Arsenal in 2013

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/11733091/Liverpool-news-Raheem-Sterling-row-could-see-PFA-intervene.html

Mediate what? He puts in a transfer request or he honours his contract, should be fairly fucking obvious even to this twat and his twattier agent

I think it means they'll be advising both parties what they can and cant do rather that try and smooth out any disagreement.

Its pretty obvious to me sterling has played his last competitive 1st team game for Liverpool which was probably sometime in March judging by his end of season performances. Id be more than just exceptionally surprised if he ever turned out for us again.

Its just a question of agreeing a fee or sticking him the U21's in my opinion.

  7. Wouldnt surprise me that city are having a small input to this saga now. Suggest he makes his position at Liverpool untenable so they dont have to pay anywhere near the £50m we want.

I can see city waiting until late Friday then bidding £42m maybe £43m due to the player making it public he doesnt want to go on the tour and no longer wants to play for the manager who's taken a lot of time 'defending' him never mind give him his chance in the PL.

John Henry's going to need big balls to play this the way he wants it to go. Did I say sterling's a little shit?

  8. Cavendish went into the wind too early there I thought. Usually he was the one jumping in from behind. Great scenery at the finish.

Greipel isnt called the gorilla for nothing. His power is enormous. Mind he sat back a lot and let others do the hard work for him today.

  9. We either need a new stadium or at least three sides of Anfield rebuilt. This one stand will just tower over the rest of the ground and show it up further. At least if the Anny Road gets done as well (good luck with that under these losers) then it's half built, but it's still not really good enough. If it did get done then it's a long process to sort either of the other stands out.

I'd rather have moved grounds as well. Not sure Speke was the right location though. A city centre ground would be ideal at the heart of the city.

West Ham will more or less fill the Olympic Stadium as long as they're showing ambition. The amount of tourists in London plus all the ex-cockneys in Essex and the other Home Counties who can get to Stratford a lot easier than Upton Park, which will see them pick up the floating supporter. If we don't start getting a grip we could be overtaken by Spurs and West Ham. We're trading off history now and a global fanbase that won't stick around forever.

And where's the money coming from to build this super duper new stadium? xerxes is already advocating letting fans in for free because of the tv revenue money (while thinking the club is still going to remain 'competitive'). Fans are rightly complaining about the price of tickets so there's a limit on where the money's coming from.

In contrast city and west ham have effectively been give new stadiums http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jun/19/olympic-stadium-cost-rises-west-ham

See, you're still at it, speke wasnt the right location! And getting into and out of the city centre on matchdays would be an utter joke except it wouldnt be funny!

I dont share your optimisim about tourists filling the OS even if its only 54,000. We'll have to wait and see.

  10. When the stand is completed in 2016 Man City and West Ham will have more seats than us in a modern stadium. We'll have a shiny new stand. Even Tottenham will have a new stadium soon around 60k.

Ours is basically what Newcastle did 15 fucking years ago leaving us with a lopsided ground with the same capacity. When you're idea of finally 'sorting the stadium' is catching up to Newcastle United then you know for sure you're finished as a top football club.

Give it a decade and under new, proper owners and we might do it properly.

Both city and west ham have effectively been 'given' brand new shiny stadiums. city will fill theirs (although they still heavily discount as advertised on the radio) because they are now a successful title winning club. It remains to be seen whether west ham manage to get 50000 regular fans in the Olympic Stadium.

I'd actually say what's held the club back are the people moaning that the Kop must stay as the largest single stand and not wanting to move outside of the Anfield area. Some people have short memories if they dont remember Anfield4eva and the commotion there was when the club was considering a site at speke, aintree and other places around Liverpool.

David Moores held the club back from moving to a new stadium years ago but even then, there was a considerable majority in the matchgoing fanbase who said they didnt want a 'souless' bowl.

I was heavily in favour of a move to a new build when it was first proposed. Its never going to happen now and in some ways, Im happy with that.

  11. If City blink first we've chucked away a forty million quid offer here for a player who's burned all his bridges with us. I'd have already had their arm off.

Agreed, can see us fucking this up and we end up with the little shit buying out his contract next summer.

I love the way some people get the shits when the chips are down and want to fold.

Its amazing how quickly people go from 'we always get shit, low fees when we sell' to now wanting to accept the second bid received which is only reportedly £35m up front and £5m in add ons from the richest club in England.

Fuck that. If city or anyone else want him, they pay the sticker price. Despite what sterling and his bitch think, they arent in the boss seat here, the club is.

If sterling's bitch thought he could cake walk his trick out of the club then he's in for a hard lesson. sterling will be due back for pre season training soon and if his bitch doesnt start whispering in the ear of mansoor, wenger or any other tart he thought he had the ear of, he's going to find his trick is either going to have to suck it up or go on strike.

I think the club is playing a fucking blinder here.

  12. Whilst he and and his agent are a couple of smeg heads we've certainly got a little smeg on our faces from the way we've handled it. Leaking contract negotiation info to hand picked media outlets then pretending we're not going to sell him when it's obvious that we've been gearing up to do so since the last time they broke down. It's amateur hour once again.

What!? That post alone is comedy gold.

You swallowed the line from the club when it said he wasnt for sale? Did you believe them when they said the same thing about Torres?

Its a game to up the resultant price, make the player hand in a transfer request so we dont have to pay shitty 'loyalty' clauses to some twat who wants away.

  13. Babel could shoot, Raheem is a stupid cunt who I wish nothing but utter desolation and failure when he moves on. Really can't fathom why the top clubs want him, he's some serious poor technique in his shooting and crossing of a ball and he's a fucking cunt to boot.

Might be better holding that thought about why 'top' clubs may want him until after we get £30m, £40m or even £50m for him!

  14. I actually wondered recently if, knowing that Klopp or Ancelittii could come in a few months down the line, they've kept Rodgers in situ with the excuse that they don't have to give him spends because they've already given him money in the past, but if they brought somoene in during the summer they'd be expected to give him a 'war chest'. If said manager comes in in November or December though, there will be limited players available to buy anyway.

Its possible. I read that milner wanted to know if rodgers was staying on else he wouldnt sign. Clearly, he wanted to know the guarantee of playing in his favoured position would hold if he did sign rather than if someone else was appointed and they wouldnt sanction the guarantee.

So it could be a combination of convincing milner to sign,, knowing klopp et all are taking a break and seeing how rodgers performs to December.

  15. I love the naivety of people who think you can convince a Championship or even PL first choice keeper to sign as a second choice. Just because 'we are Liverpool.'

The ungracious twats should be greatful we've given them the chance to sit on our bench at places like the hawthorns, st mary's and carrow road instead of actually playing week in, week out.
