  1. You really cant overstate his importance to the side. Not just defensively but what he contributes to our tempo, posession and ability to play out of defence. Agger is the single most important player to how we play tactically.
  2. When did this new quota come in about us having to hit the bar/post twice a game?
  3. So frustrating to watch at times. How many times are we gonna come away from a match and say "somebodys in for a hiding soon"?
  4. Suarez must have been fucking boss at lollipop when he was younger.
  5. This exchange suggests Suarez has said something "less severe" and therefore likely to get off. Not that Barclay has a jar of glue.
  6. I think if they had substantial proof they'd have found him guilty tonight. The burden is on Evra to prove his case. He hasnt been able to do that obviously.
  7. I can see 2 scenarios here. 1. They cant reach a verdict because the panel are at odds on a decision. The longer this goes on the better I'd say it is for Suarez. The longer it takes a jury to deliberate usually means there isn't enough to convict and normally favours the accused. Either you are stonewall guilty or there is flaws in the case which means they simply cant decide either way. 2. They have him guilty in which case the news is massive. They will have PR guys working over the next few days working out the best way to release the story and break the news to the public so as to ensure the "message" they want to send around the world is communicated in the right way.
  8. The panel require unanimity to reach a verdict. Smith will have him guilty. Therein lies the problem. It will have to be an open verdict and Suarez will be put on a "probation".
  9. Spot on again from SOS. I think the club also need to be asked how it defines the word "loyalty" because it seems to differ from what I know it to mean. Clearly the criterion applied here breaches any concept of loyalty and is motivated purely by greed. Are they looking to abolish season tickets in the future or is it the club's intention to change the demographics of the attending fan base from the local man who doesn't spend in the ground or club shop on a match day? The vision the men making these decisions have worries me and this ticketing poolicy speaks volumes about their intentions for the future. A lot is being made about the atmosphere at the ground lately and by further ostracising its most loyal supporters in this way, the club is only serving to increase that sense of detachment. Enjoy your sky generation, seal clapping, jester hat wearing brigade. Fuckers.
  10. I seen Gratty saying how much he wanted him back as well. Not sure he'd be so public about it if Gerrard had any problem with it. I can see it happening in January. Anyone know if Chelsea paid us the £50m up front? If not then it could see a similar deal to the Robbie Keane one being struck whereby we just write off the balance and pay something a smaller fee to them.
  11. A fit Steven Gerrard would score 20 goals a season in this Liverpool team. Easily the most clinical player in the squad, which is just what we need. Finishing and anticipation are attributes you never lose regardless of fitness levels.
  12. There was 2 empty seats next to us in the Kop on saturday. Anyway, some fella arrived at half time with a massive bag and sat down next to us. Turns out he'd come over from South Africa just for the game and bought two tickets coz in his words he "was a big guy" and needed one for his bag as well! That must be the same fella! I know its going to affect the atmosphere but for someone like him he was clearly fulfilling a lifelong dream. Part and parcel of supporting us I suppose.
  13. I think the atmosphere on the Kop has dipped sharply over the past 2 years due to 1. standard of football has been poor (especially first half of last year), no big games etc to get excited about; 2. ownership issue, as much as it created some atmosphere when we got the protest chants going also served to divide the fanbase (it took some far too long for the penny to drop that we were up the creek) so the kop was split; 3. the RTK section has only served to "group" the most vocal fans together so the songs arnt being sung "across" the kop so more can join in and learn the words; 4. elderly people who wont move out of the kop as they have been going for years and dont sing anymore; 5. stupid kick off times for the bigger games;
  14. Yet again another massive kick in the bollocks. Sometimes I do wonder why I even bother. It doesnt even make any fucking sense...if your a fan card holder with 3 prem games you get priority over someone who's paid 800 quid for a season ticket AND been to all 4 away league cup games. Another completely illogical mess of a ticket allocation. Common sense ey?!
  15. Modric wasnt even touched for that pen. If that had been Suarez then he'd be on an FA charge by now.
  16. I always remember Fowler saying how good a footballer Kevin Gallen was. They played together at U-21 level and he had it all as a front man. Suffered a bad injury early in his career unfortunately. Had the potential to be a great english striker but guess we'll never know now.
  17. A home draw would be nice. Nailed on to be city away though. Make it 4 games in 3 weeks agains them in january.
  18. I havn't seen anything from him for 18 months now to make me think he was on his way to being the player he once was, or was getting back to his best. For how long does a dip in form have to last before people just accept the fact he's just playing at his level? Some players improve and others get worse. Supporters for some reason fail to acknowledge that fact. We don't have to look too far away from home to see the massive improvement Lucas has made in the last 2 years. I think too many people were guilty of failing to accept he had improved and were happy to pigeon hole him as the failure they thought he was going to be when he first arrived. All the great managers can spot when a player is about to decline and are able to push those through they know are ready to do the business. Its spotting these trends which ultimately prove to be the difference between decline and progress.
