Watched Robocop for the first time in about 30 years last night. I think it was the first time I've ever watched Murphy's execution all the way through (I used to close my eyes before is hand gets blown off.  Hey, I was 13!!). That scene is still shocking today.

I disagree. He was a character who knew nothing of the outside world, he didn't know death and hated dwarves. By the end he understood so much more and was best friends with Gimli.
