James Brown was always feted as the hardest-working man in music, but Aquilani's agent must be definitely the hardest working agent in the buiness.
If Wolves line up Jay Spearing & Jamie O'Hara together in midfield, they will have to change their mascot from a wolf to an Ewok.

Good report, Dave. I'm interested to know though, what differentiates a German/Hungarian accent, from, say a Romania/Austrian.
It's quite clear that we need a multi-lingual editor going forward & I am proposing Wladimir Klitschko who is supposed to speak about 9.
Failing that, Dave needs to buy one of those hearing aids that you can ' hear a whisper from 20 yards away' that they sell in the papers & then sidle up to Comolli whenever he appears.

If he isn't fit, I hope he isn't rushed back.
I think he has probably come to this stage by being too willing to play with jabs etc. & you could argue short-termism from managers who have used him when semi-fit.
I think it should be very straightforward, if you aren't fit you don't play.
I couldn't believe our 'world-class' medical team let him play in the Utd game last season, and don't start me about Carroll being left on against Arsenal.

Edit' date=' OOPS wrong post, wrong forum[/quote']
I've come back into this thread & waited about 5 minutes for the 'next unread post' to load & all for that Doh'nuts.

The boxing keeps on coming
Saturday, July 23
Dereck Chisora vs. Tyson Fury
Amir Khan vs. Zab Judah
The Chisora v Fury fight has just been advertised as being on Channel 5, which is an unusual one, but the more boxing on terrestrial the better for me.
( Assuming Barnes & Nevin aren't involved of course )

re: aquaman - i do hope we keep him and play him behind the strikers cos he's impressed on the Asia tour
hopefully his injuries are behind him now?
edit: we have lots of different attacking players available with different qualities now - especially compared to this time last year - no idea how Kenny sees this team shaping up for the game at home to Sunderland on Aug 13th tho
re: Carroll - he's just not fit enough imo - we need to train him hard and bulk him up a bit cos he could be our battering ram...
Would be more anxious if Andy looked as ponderous in the Valencia game, but not too worried at this stage.
On a similar point, did anybody see the brief highlights of Man City's win the other day. Dzeko looked that fat he made Carroll look like Crouchy.

He'll be fine. He could play for 12 months a year, he's like the fucking durcell bunny.
Plus it's good to have players with experience of winning major trophies. Hope Uruguay do it.
He had a decent mid-season break as well, due to his piece of partial-cannibalism

I'm in. Coming off my victory at the euro u-21 i'll be hard to beat. You've been warned.
I didn't even know you played for Spain, Moof.

Cut out the middle-man & go straight for Sheik M'Booty.
-
No. He played well and was our best player as several people pointed out. The resident drama queens then did their usual 'squealing like fucked pig' impressions for reasons as yet unknown.
If I could just place who bought him I get the feeling I won't need to call in Miss Marple to help with this.

Pretty scathing from Barry there.
Ill have to get his book has abyone read it yet?
It's a good read Lee.
He made me laugh when he went all technical & said that Burns would ' Beat the living daylights' out of Cook.
I like all the 3 experts but Sky need to have a word about them all trying to talk over each other constantly, they are like girls on a hen night.

I'm not too clued up on boxing, I only really get interested for the big fights so my knowledge isn't particulary good, but I see Curtis Woodhouse is on the card tonight. Anyone seen him fight before? Any good?
The reason I ask is that I used to play football with him (and against) when we were nippers, before he signed for Sheffield United. He was head and shoulders above (not literally) everyone else and it was no surprise when he went pro. The cunt once nearly knocked me out too, elbowed me in the back of the head going for a header.
Good line from Gavin when he was asked if he would be reticent to wallop a former Birmingham player as a big 'Blues' fan. ' Not really ' he said, ' I only tend to watch the first team games '
Rumours however that Gavin is frustrating his trainers & promoter & living up to his 'Funtime Frankie' monicker & while he should be well too good for Woodhouse, he may not be 'training on' as they hoped.
Looking forward to this bill.

Kaymer is playing like me on Bootle Muni & my money is disappearing fast.

Anybody who says ' it won't change my life' should forfeit their win in my opinion.

hey guys,
I am a lifelong liverpool supporter from Melbourne, Australia. This is my first post on this forum but have posted numerous times on other forums like TIA or the LFC TV online forum. I heard about this forum via the 'epic dwindle' book I have just finished reading and it sounded like the place to be so I hope I can help/contribute to the place through my thoughts and opinions through the eyes of an International supporter plus my little bit of knowledge I do have (I follow everything Liverpool on the hour every hour).
I am a SOS member, and now an international club member who has been to Anfield and Liverpool once to see us beat Bolton 3-0 on a boxing day clash (Keane x2, Riera 1).
Thanks guys
Welcome A.S.
The only warning is that it gets a bit addictive & I spend far more time on here than is wise.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter outed as a Liverpool fan
Kenny Dalglish was charged with taking Liverpool back to the big time - but it seems King Kenny's influence may reach further than anticipated as even Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have bought into the Reds revival.
Angelina Jolie with her daughters, Shiloh and Zahara Jolly: Angelina looks happy with daughter Shiloh and her Liverpool bag (XPOSUREPHOTOS.COM)
The A-list couple, who have recently been in England, were spotted leaving Los Angeles International airport with their brood of children – where one was spotted sporting a Liverpool string bag.
Little Shiloh used the carrier to transport her London souvenier bear under the guidance of her Tomb Raider actress mum, who has previously insisted her son Maddox would 'only be allowed to play for the Reds'.
The Pitt/Jolie family are the latest to join the celebrity Kop fan club, which already boasts the likes of Samuel L Jackson, 007 Daniel Craig, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Nelson Mandela.
Arsenal are probably the only other English side who could rival the Reds in the celeb stakes, with Jay-Z, Kevin Costner, and Alan Davies all avid supporters.
But Everton do have Rocky, so….

The young Asian lad they have is a Reds fan ( not sure of the lad's name ) and has had a Reds shirt on in a few pictures, so I assume the little girl has picked it up from him.

Decent 1st day for my selections
- Kaymer ( £5 win )
- Day/Choi/Cink/Overton/Larrazabal ( all £2 each-way )
All between 2 under & 1 over.

I advocated buying him when he went to Villa few years ago & while you have to say £20m is steep, we are in a market where 'run of the mill' defenders like Samba and Dann are being talked about as £12m+ & a ( to me ) very ordinary Cahill as £17m, so you could argue that as an attacking talent with 27 England caps it isn't so far out of line.
I think he has a fair array of wing skills , I like his work ethic & also the fact that he is a team player who is happy to play on the wing, working hard & isn't thinking it is beneath him like Ashley Young et al.
He will provide assists in the obvious way for Big Andy, but I suspect he will help Suarez even more as he will force the opposition right back out wide to face him, leaving more space between the full back & the right central defender where Luis does his best work for me. At present the right back can sit around the corner of the area & Luis gets effectively double-teamed.

Quite enjoyed that, pretty good entertainment by pre=season standards.
On a slightly negative note, I think our planning of our pre-season itineraries is pretty poor & never seem to lead us into the season at a decent level. Once again we seem to be all over the place in random games with fair amounts of travel involved.
-
Poor signing but I do feel that he became an obvious focal point for the antagonism toward Hodgson & this has slightly magnified how bad he was.
Will give him credit for showing professionalism in trying hard to find a club prepared to take him on & not attempting a 'Winston Bogarde'.
Seem to be genuine prospects of moving on all of the guys who don't seem to have a future here which would be an excellent boost to financing the wage bill for the new squad. Good luck to them if they go.
-
With the kind of money there throwing around,10 million a season might buy them the arm of there next target.
Take into account what there annual wage bill must amount to etc plus running costs of the club,it dosent amount to alot.
They may be using a backdoor or exploiting the new ruling in some small way,but dosent every club try to bend the rules in there own favour.
Will be interesting to see how/if Uefa react to what there doing,as its obvious the ruling was made to stop English clubs becoming so dominant in there competitions.
They are now talking about it being worth £400m not the original £150m that was mooted.
They have sponsored the groundsman's boxer shorts for £1m per season which seems realistic.

I just assumed he had shit taste in clothes.
His wife certainly doesn't look the type of lady who would be happy living a lie covering up for a gay husband. At the risk of going a bit Danny Dyer, she looks
' pwoper norty'

Isnt he mates with Dalglish aswell?
You're right Phoenix they made it quite clear they were good friends when we played Brum late on in the season.

shhh he might be reading this
I'M ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED. MASSIVE RIP OFF ETC
I know you are taking the piss & so is RiS, but I genuinely wince when I see things like this.
I know I am probably attaching far too much significance to websites like this but I can see that West Ham would be happy to take these 2 cockney lads & while i can't see them paying £7.5m, when journos start telling them about the reaction from LFC fans it isn't going to help our negotiations is it ?

Is anybody getting a bit uneasy about the amount of detail that is made public these days about people who haven't even been charged with anything, never mind convicted.
Can't see it being long before barristers start banging the ' Can't get a fair trial ' drum.
Obviously this girl could be guilty , but I never doubted that weirdo looking landlord guy killed the girl around Xmas once I'd read the papers etc. & it was all bollocks.
