  1. I posted in the summer transfer thread that Swansea were looking at the top scoring midfielder in Spain for £2m and asking if anybody had seen him & why his price was that low. Nobody replied & I assume the same went for our scouts.
  2. I've seen a fair bit of West Ham this season & they always seem to be the poorer of the 2 sides involved, but always get a result. I do think they will end up in a lower-middle finishing league placing & hopefully the slide starts on Sunday. I agree with the Hitman that we need to give as few free kicks away in our half as it is a grock-fest on a par with Stoke once you do.
  3. At what point did we become fans who are happy to call a 17 year old player from our team a 'greedy cunt' without knowledge of any of the facts in the matter.
  4. Felt really bad last night, noticing one of my favourites, James Richardson, presenting some sted-fest on a minor channel, with a collection of guys shaped like perfect squares pulling trailers with their teeth.
  5. One of my top 5 Anfield moments of last season. Was still pissing myself 5 minutes later.
  6. And for not even bothering to turn up for an FA Cup tie when their fans managed to get here ( And then not only not getting thrown out the competition, having the nerve to knock us out ) And that fascistic chairman of theirs who was halfway up Thatcher's arse. And for Steve Foster.
  7. Scored nearly as many goals against Everton as Rushy & trashed the Blue Peter garden , what's not to like ?
  8. I thought it was Downing trying to pass the ball through a defender and it bounced back towards the area. It looked like he would have got lynched if it had gone in, the way Carra & about 4 others acted as it whistled over.
  9. Just in case anybody wasn't aware of the kick-off - it's 6pm. I've missed early ones like these before.
  10. Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman are the best double-act on tv. I like the Chase as well to be fair Use to hate the lying b***ards on Golden Balls.
  11. Was it Germany he scored the 2 goals against at the Euros ?
  12. Seems a bit odd, particularly as I believe it will be another 3 months before they even decide the venues for the matches & some teams haven't even been decided yet. When you relate it to the Football World Cup which is held a year earlier & won't be drawn for another year yet, it seems even stranger.
  13. Victor Moses seems to have gone in front of him at Chelsea & they seem happy enough to get rid. Having said that, if we buy him & he is great, I will be thrilled and happy to hold my hands about being wrong about him.
  14. He can't be that massively productive or he would be getting a game for Chelsea & they would be arsed about losing him. We have a player who has been talked about as special for years & is an England international at 17 & if this is the sort of player we are not going to make a real effort to keep, then it seems we have given up as a major force in this country.
  15. I am still a bit miffed by Brendan's team for the Young Boys game. We could have taken a shadow team for this.
  16. Not 'appreciably' better. I would be very surprised if Sterling is not much better at the same age. I think Sturridge is very hit & miss, and seems very greedy & arrogant to boot.
  17. This is the nearest to my thoughts on the matter. As a comparison, we are strongly rumoured to be thinking of paying £15m & £80k per week for a player who is 5 years older but not appreciably better than Sterling in my opinion. I'd be happy to give him £30k p/w with a £5k p/w increase year on year if he plays a certain amount of games.
  18. To be fair it's out of their hands & down to Schalke's result, so I would expect we would do the same in the circumstances.
  19. I know I'm hardly the target market for supermodel advertising, but I just look at Kate Moss and see a borderline smackhead with bad teeth who looks like she never gets a wash.
  20. A guy was saying on the BBC website that not a single player from England's first match of the 6-nations three years ago played in the win on Saturday, so a 'long time to go' is right. I think the upcoming 6-nations should be really interesting, I can see any one of four winning it & would be amazed to see a Grand-Slam.
  21. I don't think Fury hits hard enough to worry Price much, although I will allow that he is a much better fighter over his past 4 or 5 fights.
  22. Kraftwerk ( Autobahn tour - mid 70's ) The Jam ( Deeside Leisure Centre - 1980-ish ) Elvis Costello ( various - preferred the earlier gigs with the Attractions )
  23. England, Wales & a top 4 team would be a true 'Group of Death'.
  24. Surprised there has been no mention of the All Blacks game yesterday. Absolutely brilliant performance, particularly on the back of the criticism from the last 2 games. England seem to have a potentially brilliant pack, but still questions as to the make-up and personnel in the backs. If they can get that right ( I don't rate Flood at all & hope to never see him again ) we could be a force to reckon with going forward.
  25. The Everton team of 93/94 were only half an hour & a bribed goalie away from being mine.
