I'm surprised that, given this whole thing with Poll at the moment was started by Chelsea (Mourinho, Terry, Cashley), no-one has questioned Chelsea's version of events more. This is the club, after all, whose esteemed manager has admitted to making stuff up about that ref going into the Barca changing room two seasons ago. So for Terry(Mourinho puppet) and Cashley (not the most honest man in the world) to come out (no pun intended) in the press and lambast Poll for conversations they apparently had with him-conversations that no-one else can back up as they were one on one- seems sus to me.
Chelsea have made it pretty clear that they feel Poll has a vendetta against them by the fact that they point out the number of points they have lost in games he has officiated. So Mourinho then sends out two of his henchmen with dodgy stories about Poll in an effort to make sure that they never get him again- neither story from Terry or Cole can be proven to have taken place because it is their word against his.
I can just imagine poor Mongo going up to Moroninho after the game on Sunday, tears in his eyes, "oooh. that Poll always nasty to me. This never happen when nice Mike Riley our ref".
Thats said, I will never forgive Poll for that Arsenal game. Does anyone else remember the strange stare Houllier had after the second red went up? That was the first clue he was going mad. The second was talking to himself the day he had the heart attack. The third was taking Didi off away to Leverkusen. And it all went downhil from there....
