  1. I'm imagining it and it makes me realise how poor of a signing Mane is.Our problem for years has been breaking down teams who sit back, a player like Mane who likes to play on the counter and is not creative is exactly the kind of player we did not need. He'll be playing simple balls to Coutinho and others with the hope of being played through, that tactic is not going to have much success against teams that sit back. I'll get behind him now as he is a LFC player but this is a baffling singing imo, people say we need a winger and he is the answer but my idea of what a winger is seems different to most.I thought a winger was someone who beats players and gets crosses in, not someone like Mane who plays sideways passes and just looks to be played in. Good luck to him but if he is the only am we sign we have not addressed the problems we had last season unless Klopp is changing our style of play and we are going back to the football we saw under GH.
  2. We don't need just pace on the wing, we need someone with technique who is creative.Markovic can add pace as can a few others we already have Markovics stats from his first season at LFC are not much different to Manes stats last season.Mane also got 8 goals in his last 8 prem games, that shows how inconsistent he is and how poor his record would have been last season if he hadn't had that good patch at the end, we gave him 3 goals away at Southampton. Our style of play is going to go downhill fast if the plan is to have players like Mane out wide, all he does is press and make runs behind.
  3. No because Mane is shit technically, if your trying so say Allen couldn't cope in Barcas team then you are the one who is very wrong.A bad ball to a player in that team is ok as they have the technique to control the ball, anyone who thinks Allen would struggle in that side is deluded. We can no longer take the piss out of city for paying 49m for Sterling, there isn't much between them and Sterling is better in most areas. He is also still very young and has years to improve while Mane is close to his peak.
  4. This is the worst deal the club has done, Carroll had an outstanding attribute with his ability in the air and Benteke had a 1 in 2 goal record.Mane is a poor striker who can do a job out wide, he's a very poor mans Bellamy and is very inconsistent. If we are willing to have someone out wide who is shit for large parts of the season we should have let Ibe have a run of games to develop.I was laughing when Manu were linked with him last season and I hoped they would sign him as he is not good enough for a top club, embarrassing deal and we should have stumped up for Teixera.
  5. As I said before I don't think my tweets had any affect but it does show you these people are reading tweets, I've tweeted 'famous' people twice and have got replies in a couple of minutes.Im fairly sure players are on their phones on the bus on the way to games, if those two tweets got through at random times there's a good chance my tweets were getting to the players before games.
  6. I only use Twitter to retweet things I see that interest me, people on here will know I give long replies and I can't get my point across on Twitter so don't bother. When I have something to say I come on here.
  7. I just called Fowler out about it on Twitter and he replied saying he was fishing, the only other time I called someone out was when TB was moaning about BR earlier in the season and he aswell replied straight away.Maybe my messages were getting through to the players the season we challenged after all.
  8. It's true, I've seen him attempt long passes many times but he literally doesn't have the power in his legs to hit the ball as far as players like Xabi. As for Fowlers comments I'm massively disapointed and can't believe he said that, I guess he was one of the fans moaning about paying 16m for Masch because he didn't score many goals.
  9. Not at all, I've said for a long time Allen is the perfect player to do the role Xabi used to do for us, he's never had a run of games in that role though and hasn't had a dm playing next to him to cover him like Xabi did. His style of play is very similar to Xabi but he doesn't have the power in his legs to hit the long range passes Xabi does.Xabi doesn't hit long balls all the time either and generally does what Allen does.Allen has more energy, is better defensively, keeps possession as good as Xabi, is better in tight spaces and can get forward from deep positions. The only things Xabi has over him is the long range passes and he isn't as injury prone.
  10. He was imo, as Bilic said let's not give England credit for keeping possession against a team that wasn't interested in keeping possession. He played the ball backwards in midfield while under pressure and didn't do anything in the tight spaces further up the field, a couple of decent passes doesn't make it a good performance for me and Noble and Drinkwater could have done a similar job.
  11. There's not much between Allen and Alonso imo, Xabi has better long range passes and Allen is better defensively and is more mobile.Xabi doesn't view his long passes as his strength, when he was here and England were flopping he said it was because they didn't have players like Spain who would play the five yard ball to keep possession for the team.He looks for the ball to keep possession for his team even if it is the easiest pass, the same goes for Allen. If you watch Allen closely he always makes the pass that allows his teammate the best chance of keeping possession. I'd disagree Henderson has done more for LFC, Allen played as big a part in our title challenge and when we were in form in Rodgers last season it was when Allen returned to the team, he also played a big part in us getting to the el final and was a big miss in the final.Henderson had decent stats in Rodgers last season but he was played further forward while Allen was being played as a dm.
  12. I hope your not laughing about me saying he's good enough to play for Barca because if you think about it everyone in our first 11 could, the problem would be if a few of them were all playing for Barca at the same time.Allen is the one who would fit in most comfortably and I think Moreno would also do very well for them.Hes shite defensively here but Barca hardly lose the ball and he would be getting a lot of good service.
  13. I feel the same, it would be horrible to see Allen go while we keep Henderson. He was shite last night again against a shite team, a couple of decent passes but most of the time he was just playing his safe backward passes like he always does. I can't understand LFC fans who think he is good enough unless they are very young, just think back to the cms we have had in the prem era.We had Masch, Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko and we were only the third or fourth best team in the league.Henderson is not good enough and shouldn't even be in the squad if our aspirations are to challenge and play in the cl.
  14. He would have no problem fitting in the Barca team and I do think he is good enough to play for them, they won't sign him as they go for big names but if he came through their youth team he would be starting for them. I also agree he would shine in a European league, he won me over against Everton away where he was keeping the ball with ease while the Everton players charged at him.In Spain where he would get time on the ball he would look outstanding, he'll go to Swansea though and lead them to a domestic cup during his time there and will play against LFC and school our midfielders.
  15. Yeah I agree with that, he won't sign a player who only wants to come for the money but I don't think he'd be against signing a big name for a big fee if they were still hungry.
  16. When Klopp signed players on the cheap at Dortmund that was because they had no money, people say he only wants cheap players who he can develop but there's nothing to really back that up.Two players we know he definitely wanted at LFC are Gotze and Teixera, they are not cheap.
  17. Our owners are either geniuses or are getting very lucky, they hired Rodgers when no one else would have and he nearly won the league. They hire Klopp and now fans are celebrating getting a cb on a free and buying a gk for 5m.Its all starting to make sense why they would change all their plans for Klopp, they can get away with doing what they have been and if he fucks up by the end of his time here they will probably be looking to sell the club.
  18. If only we had qualified for the cl the season before last we probably would have signed him and he is the perfect player for us imo.A top dm and him in Allen in midfield would have us playing like Barca.
  19. @LFD there was weeks of speculation before we signed Karius and Matip and we've known about Gotze for months. The only signing we didn't know about was Caulker but that transfer only took a day. Missing out on the cl probably fucked up our targets regardless of what Klopp was saying before the final. If I was to guess what's happening we probably don't have a number one target in any position and are looking at a few players, as the window goes on we'll see if anyone else becomes available and decide what is the best deal for the club.
  20. Like Ferdinand the talk about Agger bringing the ball out from the back was a myth, he hardly done that and I can remember the three times he did.The goals against West Ham and Blackburn and he set a goal up against Wigan when he ran from the back to their box.Defensively he wasn't anything special imo and we have had quite a few who were better in that area and we have a few now who are better. I never saw Hansen but I've heard he was a one off and one of the best of all time, if Agger was close to being as good as him then Hansen was overrated.
  21. I'm struggling to think of a rb who's played in the prem who was better than him at his peak, Neville was better defensively but was nowhere near as good on the ball. Some seem to remember him for the palace game while I remember him as being our best attacking threat playing at rb and pocketing Bale when he was flying. The semi in the carling cup against city at anfield under Kenny was the game I realised LFC had gone downhill, we were nowhere near their team and GJ was the only player good enough to get in city's team.He was head and shoulders above the rest of our players and was the only one able to play in tight spaces against that quality. I can't explain why LFC fans treated him they way they did, all I can think is they were influenced by the media who made out he couldn't defend and games like Palace stick out in their minds.
  22. Is there a better full-back in the country than Glen Johnson right now? Retweet if you doubt it #LFC That's what the LFC account was saying a couple of years ago and a lot of people agreed. He was excellent his first three seasons, injury problems started in his fourth but he came back in January and played a part in our title challenge. His last season he was fucked from injuries and couldn't stay fit. Excellent player imo and one of the only signings we've made in the prem who turned down top sides to join us, he should get a lot more respect from LFC fans even those who don't rate him, like Agger he turned down top sides in the cl to stay here while we were shite.
  23. It's an honest opinion and I said the same thing many times when he was still here, admiring his loyalty doesn't mean I have to think he was a great player.Just look at Glen Johnson, was one of the best rbs in Europe while here and he was loyal.Fans who don't rate him were far more critical than I have been and his loyalty meant nothing to them.
  24. Ok number 10 then, Gerrard was an am but he plays the role very differently to Coutinho.
  25. Spot on, history shows that most of the deals happen after international tournaments in the summer. It makes sense to take things slowly as a lot of players could be available later on in the window. We should copy Spurs strategy, let all the other clubs negotiate but LFC keeps informed about every deal that is happening. When a player looks like moving who we are interested in we come in and match the bid and its saves us having to negotiate, we may get players cheaper than if we had been in for them for at the start aswell.Clubs like to fuck LFC over for fees but if they've already agreed a fee with a smaller club they can't take the piss.
