  1. Code, do you have the numbers for the amount of times the leagues top scorers have won the league in the last 10 years? Could you break that down for us?
  2. That's my main concern with him, sometimes the service to him hasn't been good, but just as often it's been excellent, and he's either been on his heels, or jogging out of the box. I'm hopeful that it's just his head not being right, because I trust Kenny to sort him out. I'm sure he'll turn out alright, but I don't think he should be starting until he starts showing he deserves it through some strong showings off the bench.
  3. A tablet is something you buy if all you really want to do is get on the internet, or you have to have tons of gadgets. It does less than a cheap laptop will, with the one major caveat of hold a charge longer. Admittedly, that can be a pretty big deal depending on when you plan to use it. People that travel constantly should get one, as you can go much longer without charging them. Or you could just buy an extra battery.
  4. I still go back and look at some of the pics on the CARADONNA USES A HAIRDRESSERS!! thread. Cracks me up every time.
  5. Agree with this. I don't think there's anything wrong with the shirt. That it's our shirt is what's wrong.
  6. Forget the rest of the article, is that really that guys first name?
  7. It may be greedy of me, but that would be great. I actually have some disposable income this summer, so could actually travel to wherever the match would be held. I don't see it happening though.
  8. The only site I could find that had past seasons transfer numbers for Portugal show them as the biggest spenders both seasons he was in charge. To be fair, I couldn't tell how accurate that was, but the ones I was able to track down were accurate. During Mourinho's 2 full seasons: 02-03 - Porto - 8Mil Pounds 02-03 - Benifica - 150,000 Pounds 03-04 - Porto - 13Mil Pounds 03-04 - Benifica - 900,000 Pounds Porto Transfer Numbers Benfica Transfer Numbers Once again, I have no clue how sketchy most of those numbers are, they could be terrible, but it was the only place I could find transfer history for either team. Of course, you have to spend well, and he has spent remarkably well. Of course he is a great manager. He's in the top 3 in the world right now, and has been for a while. He know's how to succeed, and has managed to succeed every year until now. The thing that irks me is that some want you to believe that money has nothing or very little to do with his success, and the truth is, there's no way to tell. He's always had plenty of it.
  9. I don't think anyone can question or qualify his achievement in the champions league with Porto. That was a remarkable success against long odds, to me that will always be the most impressive thing he's ever done. That said, even domestically at Porto, he spent at least double what everyone else spent. Of course, you have to spend that money well. He's only every succeeded against the odds once, but what an impressive success it was.
  10. But think of the money you save! It's madness not to go DIY. 1) Reina to take a dump on Furguson's Lawn 2) Reina to take a dump on Wenger's Lawn 3) Reina to take a dump on Mourinho's Lawn 4) Myself to take a dump on Tom Hick's Lawn 5) To punch Tom Hick in the ovaries.
  11. How does this signing not make sense. Experienced and quality cover if Reina gets injured, or hell, even if he just get a bug. Allows us to send out a young, promising, but ultimately unknown and untested keeper, so we can know and test his abilities where it actually matters. I don't understand what's not to like about this.
  12. Got to say, Clark has done an excellent job of improving Skrtel's heading. For a while he could not head a ball to save his life, and since the arrival of an assistant who has a clue about defending, he has improved to a point that I don't cringe when he goes up for a header, and that's saying something.
  13. The sad thing is that is how tons of people choose the teams they follow in this country. Some people here love an underdog, most bandwagon, and tons only care about individuals, and will follow whatever team they say they should. That said, it's exactly why it is damn clever of FSG to find some way to associate our club with one of the most dominant personalities in US sport. If the Heat win the playoffs, his popularity, which is already huge in countries that watch the NBA, will explode, and you won't be able to watch a commercial block without one spot featuring him.
  14. I think 2nd is where we'll be next year. I'd say first, but I think we'll drop some points as new players adapt and settle in. Having fun following the club again is fun in and of itself. I love the King.
  15. The-Sir is on a ridiculous run of form here, Every member of this forum that can should be repping him. I am particularly fond of the high jump one.
  16. I don't think you can assume Mourinho would have gotten them there. Would they have finished better than 4th? Probably, but then again, he's never managed a club in Man City's position. He took Porto from 3rd to 1st, he took Chelsea from 2nd to 1st, he took Inter from 1st to 1st, and he took Real Madrid from 2nd to 2nd. He's not really had a tough job has he.
  17. I don't even think he'll end up running, or if he does, he'll pull out early. He's terrible at everything except the only thing you need to be famous. Promoting himself. I think he's just trying, and succeeding brilliantly well at gaining as much press as possible.
  18. Beard trimmer most days, but if I ever have to shave, wet shave in the shower with my fogless shower mirror.
  19. Never fucking heard of them, and I'd bet 90% of Americans would say the same. Of course, that's probably why they're paying us so much. They pay over the odds for the sponsorship, and in turn they get huge exposure.
  20. Absolutely loved Memory Sorrow and Thorn. Brilliant books, great shout. Runelords Saga - David Farland Easy read, but very entertaining, and very unique magic system. Demonwars Saga - RA Salvatore Black Company - Glen Cook. I've only read the first book, but it was excellent. Sword of Truth - Terry Goodkind As far as the Wheel of Times Series is concerned, Brandon Sanderson and Jordan's son are writing the final 3 books using an extensive outline that Robert Jordan left for them. Supposedly Sanderson was Jordan's choice to finish his series. The 2 new books are excellent, and though I get why people don't stick with it, I'm glad I did.
  21. I enjoyed, but was a little underwhelmed by the first episode. I think I got my hopes up too much. I love the books, and have been following updates on this ever since GRR Martin announced it on his site. Those who are not sold on the show by the pilot should try sticking with it until episode 5. Every review I've read on this says the first 4 are a bit scattered, but episodes 5 and 6 just blew them (the critics) away. HBO released the first 6 episodes to critics. As for the first episode...I like the cast, the cinematography was amazing, the violence was appropriate considering the source material, but the tits were a little out of place. That said, the tits were wonderful, and 2 sets in particular in the scene with Tyrion were top quality funbags. I would have liked this to have been gritter, the first book is less fantasy and more medievel war in my opinion, and the cinematography, while stunning, doesn't quite feel right in the dialog heavy scenes. I love it when you have scenes with the vast landscapes and such, but scenes set in Winterfell seem too pretty. Not big issues, and certainly not something that will keep me from watching the show, but things that I wish were a little different.
