What if mediocracy turns to tragedy and we get relegated? It's something different to fight relegation with the weight of the Liverpool shirt compared to others should we find our selfs in that situation! Leeds 2.0? And what makes these same people think that youth players good enough to play for a league winning side will stick around for that to happen in a mid table team? One good season by sterling or others and they'd be off to Utd, Chelsea, city aso... You'd never get the luxury of time to build unless you are already up there challenging, and therefore most likely be stuck in mid table for the long term.... Clubs without money and ambitious owners don't win these days!

We spent what we earned from the Torres and Meireles sale (50+13=63) on Carroll, Adam, Henderson and Downing ( 35+8+16+20=79) (net amount of 16 mill!) I'd say that is pretty average and nothing short of what a top side should spend on average....(20-30 net spending yearly would be more like it)
