  1. Sister in law just bought us a little pizza oven. Half time in the f***y. Garlic bread. And blue cheese, onion and spuds.
  2. Mo misses for fun! Hell score though I reckon. Fucking hell . that’s a foul
  3. Still waiting for Szobo to justify the hype. Come on lad make me eat my words.
  4. I don’t care how it happens but win, Red Men. If you can play boss while doing so, great, but just win.
  5. Was it someone on this thread who recommended the Merlin Bird app? Step forward if so, I’d like to rep. We see the same species on the bird feeders but can hear loads we haven’t spotted, singing, warbling and quarking away, and this app is great for identifying them.
  6. Episode one of A Gentleman in Moscow with Ewan McGregor as the Count. I loved the book, slyly humorous and on the right side of sentimental with enough threat of bolshevik insanity to keep the tension going. This first episode just about does the business and I’m annoyed I have to wait week on week for each episode. 7/10, a promising beginning.
  7. You could of course be right but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he’d like to have a bash at the Champions league with a team he’s built himself.
  8. Good on Xabi. He’s worked hard to get a fairly average club a great team, and he’d be mad not to see if he could take it further. I’ve not a clue who we should appoint.
  9. I don’t know where to put this so here will do. A book of interviews with every living (then) World Cup final goal scorer and Geoff Hurst is in it. When he stopped playing he became an insurance salesman but it didn't go well. A hatrick scoring World Cup winner peddling car insurance. Quite the contrast with today.
  10. It took me 55 years to even enter a gym. I just go the local Pure Gym chain. It’s open all the time, no one hassles you or even takes any notice of you. Turn up run for half n hour in a steady environment, leave feeling better than when I went in. I don’t see the scam. If you pay and don’t go it’s on you.
  11. Yesterday. I went 3 times a week till last winter when I was as miserable as the weather and couldn’t be arsed. Started again this month. I go for cardio, I’m not legging it round outside in the pissing rain jumping over dog turds and shitty paving. Makes me feel good when I’ve been.
  12. One for Gnasher to carefully analyse and disagree with. For myself, I hope Hutton’s opinion is the more correct one, ‘Reeves does get it, but is careful and subtle about her response’. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/mar/24/for-the-birds-rachel-reeves-has-outlined-a-plan-to-give-britain-liftoff?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  13. The right wot’s got the power. The left wot’s got the blame. Ain’t it a bloomin’ shame.
  14. The yellow tree is Forsythia and we also have pink camellias flowering with some daffs about to. Titchmarsh was the only greenhouse book in our shop!
  15. We moved house in December. The garden is big, lots of bushes, trees and god knows what else. We also have… a greenhouse, a proper one and I have no clue how to use it, but I’ve bought a book by Titchmarsh. Two days ago the blossom outside the bedroom window exploded to life, ridiculously beautiful. Other stuff starting to reveal itself; more cherry blossom trees, darker pink, elderberry trees, a yellow one (ha, my ignorance), a big tall willow tree with yellow fuzzy buds. Amazing. we are going to see what comes up and have a bash at a load of toms in the greenhouse, perhaps with courgette and herbs. Very lucky.
  16. Our own fault, we were completely in control and decided to stroll around. Should have been against ten men but shit happens. At least it’s one game less to stress about. YNWA
