  1. I will be absolutely amazed if this happens. Lets face it the chickens are coming home to roost now. Even allowing for the terrible draws at Anfield, we were still in a decent position, but the carry on last week at Stoke and against 10 man Arsenal was criminal. Like it or not United have a more positive approach to games than us, and its starting to pay dividends. I was thinking today, who were the last team who didn't take chances to win the league? Arsenal late 80's? We are making a very difficult assignment even harder with our approach but I still don't think anything will change. Three very tough games coming up, I think realistically we need 7 points from 9 to be still in it.
  2. I could counter with the fact that we could have got Alves instead of (pennant and kuyt). Then you could counter with something else. Not worth it. All I know is that they are all playing the game, Rafa included. I expect it from the other cunts as their own personal bottom lines are their own welfare/bank balance and not the club, but I hoped Rafa would just put it off til the summer at least and not get involved. Sadly not. Last year should be a stark reminder of what can happen when the manager takes his eye of the ball. If we plummet like that again, Rafa will start getting it in the neck and justifiably so. That's not an endorsement of the owners, its the reality of the situation.
  3. Anyone else feel like Rafa is not putting the club first here? Surely all this could wait 4 months
  4. Lot of speculation and waffle there. Finnan was a great servant to the club. Rafa dropped a bollock on this one, we got an inferior perma-injured freebie who is on the same wages in as his replacement. Oh and it appears he can't defend either.
  5. Look at what has happened Chelsea since he left. Some people mightn't like him but his credentials are undeniable.
  6. I was saying last year we had the squad to win the league and we still do(a strong argument can be made that we have weakened it), but with Rafa we are hamstrung in certain ways. He isn't going to change and you will not see any of this throwing caution to the wind stuff, its not in his nature and you must accept this if you want him as boss.
  7. Kuyt on his own up front amounts to a 4-6-0 formation. That's not going to win you any title.
  8. I think that ship sailed a long time ago
  9. Jury is still out for me, judgment needs to wait until the end of the season. A reasonable and real challenge for the title if it happens is significant progress and would entitle him to an extension. As against that, almost the entire transfer budget was blown on players that weren't scouted properly.
  10. This will never ever happen and is one of the reasons I always said we'd never win the title under Rafa, and even this season it could be our undoing. We should be 8 or 9 better off, and I don't care if United also drew with some shite teams, this should be ours to throw away at this stage. Its a weird weird season, we haven't even played for for most of it and we should have the league almost in the bag. For that reason I'd count nothing out yet. I seriously wouldn't rule out one of Wigan or Bolton slipping united.
  11. True and he should now that Torres is back. He has hit in and around the 20 mark for his last 3 seasons, I see no reason why he wouldn't start knocking in goals if he settled in and started played up front with Torres. It has to be worth a shot. All that said I think he'll be on the bench more often than not.
  12. The one overwhelming positive we've got going for us is that none of our gamebreakers have hit form and i think we've got to believe that they will. Lets face it, only Gerrard, at times, and Alonso, consistently, have been at the races in that regard. If you think about it, its a great position to be in considering Torres has missed most of the season and Keane has been poor. If we get those 4 firing on all cylinders we will do it.
  13. I'd rather Rafa did this 5 or 6 times more this season. Keep naming names and keep sticking to the facts. Next stop, Wayne Rooney and his abuse of officials. "at 34 mins Mr Rooney is clearly seen telling Mr Webb to Fuck Off, this is a yellow card no? On 35 mins Mr Rooney turns his back, walks away from Mr Webb and refuses to speak with Mr Webb, this is another yellow card, On 44 mins Mr Rooney tells Mr Webb and the linesman to fuck off several times......These are facts, these are not mind games. This happens in every Manchester United game, what has happened the Respect campaign" Drive on Rafa. You might as well finish what you've started. It'll drive Demento mad
  14. Its illegal to do these days. Remember the great goal that used to be on the start of Match of the Day, possibly Justin Fashanu, some lad flick it up and he volleyed it, that wouldn't be allowed these days. ps just checked, it wasn't Fashanu.
  15. They key point here is that Keane's 5 goals have come in the last 10 games, in 4 of which he hasn't gotten a single minute on the pitch. On the other hand, Kuyt got one in these 10 games and he's played virtually every minute. Keane is a player who has always traditionally scored in streaks and I can't think of a better time for a player to hit a couple of months of red hot form, couple that with Torres and you have the makings of a very good front line. I doubt we'll ever see the fruits of that though as Kuyt will always be the first name on the teamsheet. Its frustrating to say the least
  16. I don't he's a paradox at all. He's pretty black and white, with a penchant for making illogical decisions. Pretty consistent in that regard. A lot of lads here shouting for a call to arms from the team, that is clearly not going to happen. They are concerned about the lack of passion and a degree of this is the managers fault, but Rafa just isn't going to let lads go out there and tear into the opposition, not even when its rubbish like Stoke or when Arsenal were there for the taking. Look at that board he has when there are subs coming on, there are about 6 subuteo scenarios being drilled into players heads, I just don't think passion and letting players expressive themselves are part of his take on the game, Rafa wants to "control" games. Unfortunately a bit of off the cuff stuff is sometimes whats needed to win these games. For what its worth, I think Dave has it just about spot on with his analysis 95% of the time. Even though I shouldn't do it, I sometimes fall into the trap of linking what goes on on the forums with the fanzine and just say fuck it, I'll just stop buying it. I made some flippant clearly sarcastic remark last week about Rafa, and its neg city from the usual dullards incapabale of thinking in anything but a straight line. Keep calling it like it is Dave.
  17. Can't believe we are setting the team up to deal with shit like Stoke. Torres and Keane on the bench is unacceptable. We didn't even deserve the point We still need a Chelsea win tomorrow.

  19. This stream has been rock solid since the start of the game Watch Live Stoke City - Liverpool Enjoy
  20. The best thing about this is the pre-mediatated cool clam and collected way it was presented. Somebody should have done this a long time ago, delighted that Rafa is that one. For too long people have been afraid to stand up to that bile filled old bollix, he breaks every rule in the book and claims they are the victims. This will put pressure on refs to stand up to United and that can only be a good thing.
  21. not looking through this thread for the link, apologies if its already up. beautiful stuff Footypresser Embed_UIP
  22. Chelsea win. Its a no brainer, they are nowhere near as solid as before and will drop further points before they come to Anfield. We need to set some distance between ourselves and United. Pity Ronaldo didn't shatter his two legs in that car crash.
