'Failing at life' happens because we compare our lives to other people, and we invariably look at people who have 'more' than us. We compare up not down. I daresay you don't consider yourself failing at life when you compare yourself to homeless people begging for food and living on winter streets. But the real issue is that we should judge ourselves at life at all. There is no succeeding or failing. Life is not a competition. Life is the very short amount of time we get to spend on this earth with friends and family and nothing more. If there is a concept of success, then it's finishing each day alive surrounded by those we love.

The problem is that they can act with impunity. Nobody is going to do anything unless the US does it first, and the US won't do anything. At least not long term. So the Israeli's frankly don't give a fuck what the rest of the world thinks.

I was comparing the threat faced by the UK to that faced by Ukraine. It was simple enough.

Why not? The country faces an existential threat greater than the UK faced. And how can you hold elections in regions disenfranchised by enemy invasion?

There's an irony in our government trying to suppress our freedom of protest in the name of honouring those that fought and died for it.

There were no elections in the UK during both World Wars.
