  1. He's from Toxteth? He should mention it occasionally so people know.
  2. Fair's fair, he was not only birthed by a woman but he's worked with some too. He's practically a Suffragette so you need to all get off his fucking case.
  3. As badly as he's playing, Diaz is playing worse. So I think Nunez on the left, Gakpo in the middle and Mo on the riight gives us the best chance of getting our form back quickly and winning football matches. This is isn't about desperately trying to accommodate him somewhere, it's about us being as good as we can be. If Diaz recovers his form then we can look at it again. But as (I think) you said earlier, I do think people are forgetting how good Gakpo was for a fair bit of last season when he was playing regularly as the false 9.
  4. Think there's a strong argument for playing Nunez on the left while Jota is out and Diaz is in such terrible form. Would play Gakpo through the middle though, rather than shifting Dom and Mo too.
  5. Totally agree, not fair to single them out - I prefer to hate every single player and member of staff equally.
  6. I was won over by what seemed to be a genuine improvement in the early months of this season - but the longer his current run of form goes on, the more it feels like that was a flash in the pan rather than this just being a temporary downturn.
  7. Absolutely no way they can backdate it, as funny as it would be.
  8. I really thought the semi was only one leg as of this season but have just checked and that's not the case. Would absolutely love the chance to knock Everton out, whatever stage it is. I think we will rotate the squad and lose at arsenal, and I wouldn't be too upset.
  9. Totally agree - we were as genuinely poor on Saturday as a lot of people seemed to think we were against Sheffield United.
  10. I thought he was an upwards curve as he got used to our way of playing, but he - along with Diaz, Gravenberch and Nunez - was utterly abject today.
  11. Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks doesn't actually mention the Thames by name, but think it's a fairly safe bet.
  12. Yeah - while it was far from our most free flowing performance, I'm not really getting the negativity about last night. We were mostly pretty solid (bar a chance entirely down to a momentary lack of concentration by Gomez and a couple of other bits and pieces) and kept them at arm's length throughout.
  13. "It is great for the public here at Vatican City to see us. They must have been wondering what this team everyone is talking about are all about and now they have seen. We were wonderful. Yes, I know we lost 2-0."
  14. Struggling to think of an English manager in the last 30 years who was as tactically astute as Venables at his best. Obviously he had a really good managerial career up until Euro 96 (Palace, Barcelona etc) but does feel like he was talented enough to have achieved more overall.
  15. Exactly. He's also getting plaudits for playing a suicidally high line with nine men that had absolutely no chance of working. He's a twat and I suspect he's not actually a very good manager.
  16. And he got booked for arguing against a decision last night! I've decided he's a twat and there's no going back now.
  17. Totally agree with you Code, he's been shit until this season.
  18. I passed in August at 45 - had never had a lesson until last year. I too learnt in an automatic and about two lessons in I was a mixture of happy I wasn't shit and just really fucking annoyed at myself for not learning earlier.
