  1. In the two years where we came second by a point, we had the air of a title winning team throughout the season. I can't think of a single point this season where I've really felt that. Don't get me wrong. I've loved it, and it's been a huge bonus to see us competitive again after such a rebuild. And if Jurgen was staying I'd be confident of this side smashing everyone next season. But my feeling is that we're currently a bit like Rodgers' 13-14 side, or indeed Arsenal last year (albeit with better players and a better manager). We have obvious flaws which I'm not sure the other two challengers do (I watched Arsenal against Brighton and while they weren't amazing, they were efficient and ruthless). It's so draining to constantly have to go to the well game after game, and it's rarely sustainable over the course of a season. Of course, we're only second on goal difference so I think to say we have no chance is ridiculous. But I can't shake the feeling we're the side most likely to drop away.
  2. Pretty sure Mark Kermode says bi-oh-pic, and he's about the biggest film nerd I can think of.
  3. Biopic. Also, until embarrassingly recently I thought segue and 'segway' were totally different words.
  4. How has delaying done that though? They're haemorrhaging money every day, so surely the delay only makes administration more likely?
  5. There's a lot that winds me up about this country. But the way in which the tories will manage to sweep this under the carpet without returning a penny, while simultaneously using Labour's links with the unions as a successful attack line, is one of the main ones. Absolute bunch of boot lickers.
  6. You're all so suspicious. Don't you know that we're British, and as such are above corruption - we leave that kind of grubbiness to the foreigns.
  7. Always found her really annoying when she presented The Evening Session though.
  8. Definitely. I still think between the start of his first full season and the injury, he might be the best player I've ever seen play for the club, regardless of position. I thought he was done last season - the drop off seemed too steep, and probably terminal. But he's been brilliant this season, 90% of the player he was pre-Pickford - which makes him the best defender in the world again.
  9. Sam Cunningham is a dreadful journo so I'd imagine the story is bullshit.
  10. That's an absolute joke. Does this mean they'll escape the further punishment, or does it mean they're likely to get another 6 points deduction?

  12. As always, am torn between saying 'wind it in, for once in your fucking life please wind it in and spare us all from your relentless, forced negativity' and 'crack on, it's clearly working'.
  13. Wiley used to be a brilliant MC, but he's a monumental twat.
  14. Pochettino also thought Spurs deserved to beat us in the Champions League final - a pretty much complete mismatch in which we had about eleven extra gears we could have gone to if we'd needed to, but didn't because Spurs were shit.
  15. Alisson out for the City game is sub-optimal.
  16. 15 years later, and I still need to give them another go.
  17. Spaced I'm Alan Partridge Brass eye The Day Today Always Sunny The Wire The Sopranos Breaking Bad Nathan Barley Garth Marenghi Father Ted (thanks to Mook for the reminder on the last two)
  18. Haha yeah I didn't even pick up on that. It's practically performance art.
  19. This is a classic of its form. Somehow Everton will automatically become an awoken giant. And then somehow that might affect sales. So Sky must quash it. Anyway, you do the maths, no further details required.
