  1. Flange - total control and no risk of banging any teethe..all depends on the lasses experience though and her attitude to it - a flange is always a flange no matter what the birds attitude is...
  2. Denis Leary is Fukin hilarious, the media reckon he ripped allot of his material off Bill Hicks but I still think he’s the funniest American comic of his generation… “Hate vegetarians who whine about the animals, I don’t give a shit as long as it tastes good, I don’t even want my stake cooking, in fact bring the fucking cow here now and ill eat it alive, one of those mid west cows that’s been smoking so long its got an electric voice box”
  3. Cheers mate nice gesture! I’d like to get into it, just finished a ‘book’ just shy of 80k words – be nice to try and flog it sometime but wont hold my breath. Still, my gripes are with the industries attitude in general really rather than from what I’ve experienced, just feel its too hard for the best to rise to the top in TV and (what’s left of it) Film over here, something needs doing I think…
  4. The welsh are hilarious at times, I remember as a kid going to a place called Cardigan and me Mum asked an old local woman if they had a beach, and she said: “no, but the town centre’s been flooded” I shit you not Still the Welsh did well at Rourke’s drift, hats off for that one….
  5. Too right, especially where he says he’s a ‘normal’ manager who plays the game in the right way – nice touch that! All in all though, the fact he can appreciate the job done by other managers shows what a class act he is, not a bitch like taggert and Mourinhio…
  6. ^^^ Sound points lads – but I still think the industry over here takes little interest in new talent. I think when a writer does make it, even to a soap like hollyoaks, its taken a major slice of fortune to get even that far. In the states there does seem to be a coherent career path, like I said with David chase, goes to film school gets an internship and a chance to prove himself – I think if a writer has talent over there he’ll make it, if a writer has talent over here that’s probably about 5% of what he needs! I made enquiries with the Liverpool Film Office before it was pulled, and was basically told “don’t hold your breath” Which was fair enough, but there was little constructive advice forthcoming, no courses, no internships, no mentoring schemes, nothing. An old acquaintance of my Mum had a son who became a producer on Merseybeat, got a job for ITV when he was spotted going to the match wearing a ‘96’ LFC shirt, and got chatting to a news producer about it, he basically said “I’ll do anything in the studio and work for nothing” So he got a job as a run-around boy and then eventually got some kind of break on the Cameras. Made up for the lad, but talk about a long shot, what kind of a way into an industry is that?
  7. Thats what pisses me off though, why don't they put their money where their mouth is and actually fuckin do something instead of shouting their mouthes off? Anyone who wants to know what the Israeli government is feeling like at the moment, need only go for a night out in Warrington....
  8. Footy players have got too much time on their hands - end of
  9. They're withdrawing from the Champions League in case it interferes with their League Cup campaign - UEFA are outraged at the decision, and fans and pundits around the country fear it may lead to the competition being devalued
  10. My mate knows this bird whose cousin knows a lad who does the vending machines in MI5 HQ, and he assures me that the set of Pobol y Cwm is a prioirity target for Russian war planners. Find a blue-john mine and hide if i were you!
  11. Watching that - all i could think about was tits! fubar...
  12. I think the law states that if the accusation means your reputation is damaged by the insinuation, which being declared to be gay would... Rememeber the NOTW or was it the S*N that was sued by the guy who plays Ken Barlow in coronation street for saying he was boring? He won, but presumably he had to prove to the judge that the accusation was false - perhaps by skateboarding into court...
  13. Here here - they'll be putting 5m bids in for Shevchenco tomorrow...
  14. Link The Telegraph has an article on the Pentagon looking at possible military options With Russia recently declaring its support for the new Hamas lead reigime in Palastine and the USA seeking 'clarification' of Russia's position - things are looking grim in that neck of the woods...
  15. Nah no way! Don't wanna be taking chances against a good side like the Arse, just think it would be worth dabling with in some capacity against a lesser side, even just for a half. There was talk that Agger and Kromcamp had been bought to allow the gaffa to change formation if needed, and i have to admit with our problems down the flanks it could be our personel might be more suited to it, would just like to see it in action for a wee bit...
  16. Good points but how does someone even get into writing in this country unless he or she has extensive contacts? There seems no 'path' as such, no course no internships no college (I know meida degrees are frowned upon to say the least) Thats why TV is shit on the whole - there are probably thousands of writers out there who could churn out better comedy and drama than the people doing it now, but there is nowhere for them to go...
  17. I prefer 4-4-2 but there was some speculation the new siginings were bought with this in mind. At the moment with weaknesses down the flanks and a need to fit all of our quality midfielders in the team but still have Gerrard involved down the business end of the pitch... Reina Carra Hyypia Agger Finan Riise (wing backs) Xabi Momo Kewell Gerrard Crouch with Gerrard in a free role - gotta be worth a punt that has kids.
  18. Thats what i'd think - but crouch is actually pretty bad in the air! And morientes? well... To be honest I think there is room to get in behind the Arse back four, they're pacey but naieve and can't hold the line, much as i don't like him, i'd stick Cisse in there for a punt.... Traore is a walking disaster zone - I'd only have him ahead of JAR if the bung boy was a parapleigic Dudek Finan Carra Hyypia JAR Gerrard Momo Xabi Kewell Cisse Crouch
  19. Deffo agree with that! There is no career path for writers in this country, its a closed shop, a very small and shit one at that. Reading the biogrophy of David Chase who created the Sopranos, it says "Attended New York Film School - then was hired as a production assistant" Just like that! There is actually a ladder over there, over here its a case of being posh and kissing the right arse - pisses me off
  20. Quotes from the offal Nice article from Stewart Hall - usually regarded by all as a putz.... On a side note - my old editor said Hall had a penchant for making money from all the guests on his slot, i.e interviewing a woman who made one-off silk ties, he bought them all and now they're worth 5k each, he also bought the private collection of Lowry artworks of another guest - hats off!
  21. 'Black Angels' the story of the waffen-ss, bloody brilliant read! Did you know the waffen ss existed seperately to the german army and actually fired on them on more than one occasion? instead of loyalty to the state they were loyal only to Hitler and fought simply because he wanted them too - its akin to having regular army units in Basra fighting alonside the 23rd Tony Blair division, who were all members of the labour party and had sworn to do his bidding until death... Instead of army drill and press-ups they trained using atheltics, fencing, and horsemanship? They had indoctrination sessions were they were schooled in the art of hate and antipathy to lesser peoples, but they were also the most daring and capable fighting formations in the German military.. They had no class system, and the officers had to serve two years in the front ranks, frequently socialising with their troops? They had a combat unit trained to speak and act like Americans who were deployed behind the lines in the battle of the bulge, with the Americans having to resost to questions like "who won the world series in 35?" to any unidentified soldier to make sure he wasn't a kraut... They had a hitler-youth division of 16-17 year olds who fought some of the most brutal and savage battles with suicidal contempt for their own safety, and most interestingly of all, there was a Brittish SS unit composed of prisoners of war, some of whom fought in the final battle of berlin! Gonna read the biogrophy of Marshall Zhukov next - the 'John Connor' of his generation, stopping the Nazi's at the gates of Moscow and driving them all the way back to the Reichstag - legend...
  22. Gerrard is the only player in our squad who has the 'random' element about his play i.e if the team isn't playing well he can create and score the winner. The only players in my time who i can think of who had that were Barnes Mcmanaman and Owen, i'e they didn't have to depend on the others in the side to just get the fukin ball, jink past a few players and launch it! Every great side needs one, Henry Robben Giggs Ronaldhinio Nedved Shevchenko, and he's ours... doen't mean we're useless without him, just means that if all dpeartments of the team aren't singing from the same hym sheet, then not much is going to happen.
  23. Yeah i'm sure he can, the mancs did it with Hughes and Cantona up front and Chelsea are doing it now, but its not simply about how many goals the guy scores its his overall contribution to the play. Owen for instance, when he used to carry us, would dart out to the wing and make space for the others, even if he'd only scored ten a season that would have been acceptable, but what we have up front now (Mainly Nando) are offering absolutely Nothing!
