My brother and his mate have been going on about the greatness of Arcade Fire since they went to see them (about 2 years ago), I've seen them live on MTV, listened to their album numerous times, listened to the many positive views from numerous friends, and I still think they are a group of smelly Canadian students who look like propeller head knobs. Am I missing out on something? P.S I voted for Kid A, only because "ip dip dog shit" decided that was better than Amnesiac.

Have a drive down/up highway 1, but watch out for the bends. Or, drive north out of San Francisco, take the Lucas Valley turn off (about 15 miles north of the golden gate bridge) and keep driving until you come to Skywalker ranch (http://george.lucas.net/prologue3.htm). Loads to do in the bay area without even setting foot in San Francisco.

Sky can be installed and viewed over here in Zurich, but you have to make sure your landlord lets you install the dish and neither close buildings nor Uetilberg (big hill) obstruct the signal. http://www.englishforum.ch may have some more info. There are a few bars that show English footy: Red Lion, Nelson and Paddy's bar. Where there is always a good turnout of Liverpool fans. Good luck with the move.

My mate lives in Sheffield and he commutes to Leeds everyday. He says the traffic has got so bad over the past couple of years that he is going to find a job nearer home - M621 then the M1 up to the M62 turn off is a pain in the arse. If Swiss Air flights were reliable then I'd consider a weekly commute to Zurich - weekends are boring as hell in Zurich!

I'm currently in Zurich, watchng the footy whilist drinking my way through a 10 pack of chilled Feldschlösschen. By the way, Vollmond is the best Swiss brew I've sampled. And for Germany, it has to be either Hofbräu or Augustiner.

This was about 8/9 years ago, when almost all the DVD players had to be imported. Anyway, one of my workmates had been going on about his DVD player for ages. So, when I went to get some speaker wire, I asked to have a look at one of their players palying on a big screen. 30 minutes later I had bought a DVD player, Amp, full set of 5:1 speakers, and some wire that was a lot more expensive than I had planned to buy. To be honest this is not the worst!

I've been known to make quite a few impulse buys: 800 on a jacket that didn't fit 3500 on DVD equipment when I only wanted some speaker wire! Worst of all, is spending 300 on PitMaster BBQ - it was raining as well. I still have no idea why I ever bought it!
