  1. This thread is just going to cause shit, and anyone who names people in it is a bit of a cunt. But yeah, I'll second fowlers god.
  2. Just showed tomorrows Daily Mail on the bbc. Headline is ' still think striking is a good idea ' Wednesdays Daily Mail front page - Still think striking is a good idea tomorrowspaperstoday as2011 nov30 : suttonnick
  3. So, your daughter who is a teacher, is the rest of the school she works at shut due to the strike? Or is the whole school open? And what are you basing the bit in bold on?
  4. Yeah, someone said only 13 took voluntary so the other 7 got their notice. Shit time of year to get it as well. ( Not that there is a good time. )
  5. Same here. I was going to stream the game live. Not anymore.
  6. Heard some people just got their notice your side paulie, not you I trust?
  7. The pensions are forecast to be a lower percentage of GDP over the coming years aren't they? And is the extra money this would raise going into the pensions pot? Why does it matter what Labour were going to do anyway? I'm arsed about what this government are doing now, not what labour might have done if they were in power. If labour were in power imposing these cuts I'd still be going on strike tomorrow. I also doubt labour would have cut pensions with the severity of the coalition. No pay rises in the public sector for what 3 years, then the two years after that capped at 1%. On top of pension increases it's a fucking scandal. And that would apply to any party doing this.
  8. Were the pensions not reformed in 2008 though, and said to be sustainable for the forseeable future?
  9. I saw that in Tesco the other day and was tempted. I'll put it under consideration.
  10. Oi!!! I object to being called work dodging.
  11. Spot on Monty. Bigbak, we are striking over the pension reforms. Not anything else. The different unions have only been allowed to strike together due to the pension difficulties. And there is plenty of support and sympathy for the strikes. BBC News - Strike: BBC poll suggests strong support

  14. It is only the likes of Alexander and Maude who are saying a deal is close. Some unions say they haven't even received an official offer to study. They will drag it out until the end of the year and just impose what they want. Obviously whilst blaming the unions for not taking up the ' generous ' offer they tabled.
  15. Can I ask that no one responds to Funnneeee, who is quite clearly thick as pigshit and trying to derail yet another thread with his ridiculous attention seeking. Really sad news about Speed, seemed like a genuine fella.

  17. 2/10. Try harder next time. Come on, you can do it. I don't think you can do it without making yourself look stupid like, but it's the trying that counts.

  19. I think people can clearly see that you are a sad, bitter crank so no need to ' torture ' you thankfully. * shakes head * I will await your no doubt witty rejoinder with bated breath.

  21. I must say that is my fear - that all the strikes will achieve is giving the government a ready made scapegoat for some of the fuckups it's making. I wasn't born in the 70's, but the strikes back then were mainly because the unions wanted bigger pay rises wasn't it? Totally different now in my opinion, the only thing the unions want now is not to have the pensions of their members made considerably worse. They aren't the aggressors in this.
  22. They all sat in someones house and had a drink. And listened to some music/watched the telly. I think.
  23. Just had a bottle of the Peroni Gran Riserva, it is nice, but has a much stronger taste than normal Peroni and is a lot darker. It's 6.6% so is quite a strong beer. Unfortunately, I lashed those cans of Sapporo in the freezer to get them cold and forgot about them. So they are now ice.
