    Coronavirus

Only came on here to post a twitter thread for all graph fans but got distracted by @Bjornebye US sitcoms threads which have caused me more stress and anxiety than Covid-19. Anyway:
  2. It’s only highly rated on some lists because they say it’s groundbreaking for being female led and featuring elderly people, completely missing the fact that it’s a crime against humanity. Even my Nan wouldn’t watch it and she used to make me watch Little house on the prairie.
  3. What have you took out now for Rules of engagement? Are you just picking programmes you personally like because it doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near top 16 of all time. It was shite.
  4. The Golden Girls is one of the most depressing programmes that has ever existed.
  5. What the list should be: 3rd Rock From the Sun The Office Community Cheers 30 Rock Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Arrested Development Frasier Seinfeld The Phil Silvers Show It’s always sunny in Philadelphia The Larry Sanders show Curb Your Enthusiasm Friends Parks & Recreation M*A*S*H
  6. Not sure I can vote now that’s It’s always sunny isn’t in it. It’s a top 2/3 sitcom at a minimum. How the fuck isn’t that in it but How I met your mother is?
  7. The Office is miles better, though I did like 3rd rock from the sun back in the day.
  8. In the US they own Hulu which makes the adult stuff like Handmaid’s tale etc... and they licence that stuff out over here to other channels like Sky or Channel 4. I’ve read they want to launch Hulu in Europe at some point but not sure if the UK will be included in that. They also do a lot of Fox stuff on Hulu now and in the states you can either buy a straight Disney subscription, a Disney + Hulu or a Disney + Hulu + ESPN which they also own.
  9. Simple question. Personally I think he's been a disaster so far and I want shut now. I respect people who think he's doing a good job and realise he's hamstrung to a certain extent by a very hostile press and also his own MPs but I don't see him ever getting close to winning an election so he's got to go for me. He might have the backing and resonate with the Labour membership but I don't think that translates to Labor voters. Things are about to get a lot worse than they are now under that cunt Johnson and we desperately need someone to step up and take him on and I don't think Corbyn with McDonnell and Dianne fucking Abbot as his generals can do that. Cameron couldn't convince Tory voters to vote the way he wanted and ultimately that cost him his job. Corbyn, whether you think he made a decent attempt at convincing Labour voters to stay or not ( and for me it was a half arsed attempt ), couldn't convince enough Labour voters to vote remain either as evidenced by the scores of Labour heartlands that voted to leave. That's not just a failure from him but he's the leader and he carries the can. He did an interview a couple of days before the referendum saying there could be no upper limit on the freedom of movement of people and I just cringed watching it. Whether that is true or not don't fucking say it! I realise that's part of the appeal, that he speaks his mind and won't play games, but on an issue as important as this you need to do whatever you can to win and I don't think he's ruthless and pragmatic enough to compromise So like I said, simple question; do you think he should stay or go? And if it's go then who replaces him?

This doesn’t make you a coronacunt. But you are one.

I also have seen it word for word numerous times on Facebook and WhatsApp. From specialists all over the world apparently. It’s all been debunked plenty of times.
  12. A draw is a shit result. The poll is open until Fawlty Towers wins.
  13. The Hardy Boys books were boss but the best series like that, by a mile, was The Three Investigators. I still read them now on occasion.
  14. Blackadder shouldn’t have even got through the first round. Fawlty Towers pisses all over it.
  15. Fawlty Towers by some distance. Every episode is brilliant. Blackadder on the other hand was a lot more hit and miss.

So about 1/3 of people may have been asymptomatic according to this. Good news because the death rate won’t be as high. Bad news because thousands will be walking around unaware and infecting others. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/23/life-after-lockdown-has-china-really-beaten-coronavirus?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Documents seen by the South China Morning Post reportedly showed more than 43,000 people had tested positive for Covid-19 by the end of February but did not show symptoms. They have not been included in the official number of infections of more than 80,000.
  17. Since no one asked, my top five: 1: The Witches. Love the film too but the book is better and bleaker. 2: Charlie and the chocolate factory. 3: Danny champion of the world. 4: The Twits. 5: The BFG.
  18. A remake is underway you’ll be sad to hear: A new film adaptation co-written and directed by Robert Zemeckis is to be released in 2020. The adaptation takes place in Alabama during the 1960s and the protagonist is a black American boy.

So going off these stats there are/have been circa 100,000 symptomatic cases in the UK? https://cmmid.github.io/topics/covid19/severity/global_cfr_estimates.html

I’m not sure, I can’t find conclusive stats on it. I did read somewhere though, might have been by that WHO fella, that most asymptomatic people do eventually show symptoms even if they are really mild like just a cough.

You need trolleys because some stuff is clearly too big or heavy to be carried in a basket. For example the only dog food (which is also selling out everywhere by the way) they had in Asda last night was a 24 pack or Pedigree chum for a tenner. Now I can carry that but a 60 year old woman couldn’t. Or a couple of 2l bottles of lemonade and your basket is full. Also with being told you might have to self isolate for two weeks I can understand why people are buying a little more. I’m not condoning full on panic buyers but it makes sense to have a little bit extra in your house in case you can’t go out imo.
