    Nike deal

When is LeBron gonna pull his finger out do something. We got told that part of the reason we went with Nike was because of all their mega stars celebs and how they were going to help to promote us. Load of bollocks.

Surely there's a young up and coming forward who could at least challenge Firmino. Firmino has a specific role obviously but we need to be able to mix things up a bit. At the moment it's Jota or Firmino or stick one of Mo or Sadio down the middle. It's all very samey. We should take a punt on a talented 20yr old if we are not going big. Anything has to he better than Origi and God forbid Ox playing up front for us.

I reckon Haaland would score 30 league goals easily for us. Salah would still get his fare share. There's way to tinker with things to incorporate top players.

There may come a time when Jurgen decides to change the way we play. Let's just say Haaland was a possibility next summer then maybe we would change tactics to suit. We're not going to have the same front three forever and maybe we won't find anyone to do that Firmino role well enough.

    Joel Matip

Imagine(I know, I know)we got 30 league starts out of him this season? That we give us an amazing base to go close to the league this season. As long as we don't get ridiculous injuries elsewhere obviously.

Just slap the money on Fiorentina's table and get Vlahovic signed. He will either be top drawer or complete Markovic.

Ideally our starting three don't pick up too many injuries, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain stay fit and find some form, and Harvey Elliott excells when he gets a chance in midfield. Not sure how realistic that is though. Think we should have shifted Keita and brought someone to really challenge for a starting spot. Still time I guess.

This full-quota excuse is a load of bollocks. Let's say we want two players, Saul and Vlahovic for arguments sake. Surely we are not going to let the opportunity pass just because we can't get every penny we want for Shaqiri and Origi? Irresponsible if we do. I think the most likely outcome is we will sell those players in the last day or two or deadline day and then bring in at least one signing.

    Go fuck yourselves FSG

Not at all. I don't want some Man City or Chelsea situation where we ridiculous sums every summer, but I think there's some wiggle room with regards to our transfer spend. I'm happy with a lot of what they've done. The revenues are obviously much better and they finally got the management side of things right when they brought Jurgen in, so I'm not someone who is anti-fsg. Take January for instance. If we had spent what needed to be spent and got our centre backs in early then the end of the season may have been a lot less dicey.

    Go fuck yourselves FSG

No idea about the figures and what we should or shouldn't be spending but I suppose my main gripe with them is that when they sell us, they are going to make an absolute fortune so I think in the meantime they should increase the transfer pot a bit, at least for the odd massive talent. But they are business men and they run us as a business so that's not going to happen unfortunately.

    Nike deal

I saw something similar to that black one on Twitter. But replace red bits with grey I think. A few people said they had bought it and it's some sort of special edition kit.

    Joel Matip

Matip is such a good player and it's cruel that he Is so injury prone. The best we can hope for is that he fit enough to play twenty or so games at a high level as he doesnt seem to need much of a settling in period when coming back from injury. If he wasn't prone to injury, he'd be seen as the second best centre back in the league I think.

The fees banded about for Wilson, Shaqiri and Gruijic don't seem very high. Chelsea have just sold some 21yr old who's been on loan to Swansea for around £20m.

Real and Barce take the piss. We are all told how they are the dream clubs for players to play for but they have to spend astronomical wages and transfer fees that financially cripple them. And some how they wriggle themselves out of the mess they put themselves in. I mean, at least Man City and Chelsea have ridiculously wealthy owners so although that's annoying, it's understandable. The two Spanish jokes though live widely beyond their means for years upon years.

I think he/his agent wanted a club where he was a guaranteed starter and one that will be fine selling him after a couple of seasons so they can have another pay day. I guess he knew that he would have his pick of clubs in the near future.

Report: Newcastle line up Nat Phillips bid

Ah yeah I remember now. He interrupted his loan spell at Stuttgart I think.

Report: Newcastle line up Nat Phillips bid

I'd keep him for at least one more season. It's imperative we have a good go at winning the title and Champions League again. There's question marks on the ongoing fitness on all our other centre-backs so the more we have the merrier. From his point of view, he has obviously had a taste of first-team football but when he does leave the only way is down. Plus the chance to play at least one game at a packed a packed Anfield would be something to look forward to. Give him an improved deal with the promise we will sort him out a good move next summer, if that's what he wants.

I watched Commando last year, it was the first time I'd seen it in over 10yrs. I was pissing myself laughing. Some of the lines are brilliant, I'm not sure some of them were written for comic effect, or if that's just 80s action movies for you.

Aston Villa love splashing the cash. And considering we keep hearing that the Pandemic hit finances and we are going to see reduced fees, £38m for a Norwich player is a hell of a lot of money.

Champions League Final - who do you want to win?

Chelsea have shown that when you have as much money as them, stability, continuity, 3-year plans etc don't really matter. They have the odd bad season, change manager constantly but keep winning stuff. The one time they fucked up big time was when they hired Lampard. Twats.

    Ozan Kabak

I think we're glossing over the most important issue when it comes to not signing kabak, which is no Tetris theme tune inspired chant. It will be a travesty for that not to get an airing.

    Long shots

Now this might just be my memory playing tricks with me, but is there a lack of long distance shots in the modern game? I seem to remember that in the 90s and early part of this millennium there used to be a veritable cornucopia of shots either flying into the back of the net or smacking against the bar. If this is the case, is it something to do with players have less time on the ball to pick a shot, players being trained differently or is it something else? Or am talking bollocks?
  25. Street Preacher

    Long shots

After a quick Google there's quite a few articles about this. It definitely looks like having a go from 30 yards is dying out. Like has already been said, there's such a small chance of a shot over 30/35 yards going in that it's generally not worth it when the likelihood is you're just going to lose possession.
