  1. 2006 FA youth cup final. Liverpool won the first leg 3-0 and lost 2-0 away. Sturridge was the stand out player and scored the 2 city goals at Etihad.
  2. One thing is almost 100% certain. This match will not end RM 0 - Lp 2.
  3. All since the Shank’s days the “This Is Anfield” sign has been mythical. Players touching it to please the football Gods and benefit with some good luck. Never really knew what would happen if an opponent touched it. Now I know.
  4. From a football point of view Mason Mount would be a fantastic addition to the team. 24 y.o.! Arguably Chelsea’s best player the last couple of seasons! Cut price! An absolute no brainer. Still there are a couple of issues. 1. His salary demand. 2. He might just be a bit too Tory for us.
  5. As much as I loved Bobby's it has to be Gakpo's 2nd. The way Salah made their defence surrender into submission and Gakpo's lovely arrogant chip humiliatng de Gea. It doesn't get any better.
  6. Would it? Really? If you own a car that needs repearing and sell it to someone. Would you use the money to repair the car?
  7. Klopp has a huge influence on his teams, always had. He used to look like a proper maniac, a lunatic getting booked for running out on the field to celebrate with his players, fist pumping towards the fans. The team responded with the same aggression. Mentality Monsters they were. Now Klopp looks like an old, tired and grumpy man. So does his team. Mentality Mignons they are. The world has turned upside down. We now look like Arsenal a couple of seasons ago while Arsenal looks like us
  8. Voted for Pele. Maradona was probably the best ever, but when one of the iconic moments in his career was cheating, he's disqualified from getting top spot in my book.
  9. Last match of the season. Wolves needed av win to stay up. We needed a win (or maybe just a point) to win 1st division. Wolves lead 1-0 until Keegan equalized 15 mins from time. Toshack and Ray Kennedy added two more to make it 1-3 on Molineux. I remeber listening to that match on the radio. Never saw the goals or highlights. Does anyone know if there are any videos available from this match?
  10. It's called adapting to the offside rule. Same thing happens on free kicks from about 40 yards out. We sucessefully play the decoy offside only for the one who was never offisde to run in behind our defence, Not exactly rocket science this. We'll probably need to change the way we defend.
  11. It's never easy to predict how teenagers develop. Remember back in the 90's both David Thompson and Steven Gerrard scored in a match (Soton?) for us. Tommo was sensational. Most peole back then thought Tommo would be the Man, not Stevie. Injuries play their part. Jude Bellingham could be better than Steven Gerarrd, but could also end up like David Thompson.
  12. A manager who's able to transform a 2nd choice Everton forward not good enough to play for Spurs and a Leeds winger looking like world class players does deserve som kind of respect I suppose.
  13. Just stick the back end of a broom up their bums. That'll help them realize wearing rainbow colors is a sin. Female gays? Just line them up alongside the women who can't be bothered wearing their hijab right and shoot'em. That'l hellp I suppose.
  14. The World cup! The goal in 1966, Pele, Maradona, Brazil 1982 team… I could on and on. Mythical! Exciting! People!" The Word Cup is dead! This isn’t going to be a proper World Cup, is it? Is anyone really looking forward to this Desert Cup for nations? To me it’s just an inconvenient long footy break. I’m not going to watch it. Am I just a stupid protester perhaps? Yeah, in a way I guess I am. But mainly I won’t watch it because they’ve taken all the excitement out of it. It simply won’t be any fun. I might watch the final, then again I might wait for the highlights. Basically I’m just going to be a patient guy waiting for football to return on Boxing day.
  15. And something has to be done with the goalless draws. Let's just have the two managers in the inner circle with their pants down. Whoever pisses the longest stream wins it.
  16. Can we have John Arne Riise as left back captain please. North vs South? It would take a large number of Liverpool players not to support the Souths
  17. ....and f**** stupid. Football's got something the yanks could never understand, passion! If ever played and I was forced into the stadium to watch against my will I supopose I'd have to support the combined ManC, ManU, Lpool team against the Spurs; Arse, Chelsea team. 1-1 89 mns, then Fernandes finds Foden, goal!!! What an explosion of happy feelings that would be! .....or not!
  18. It's funny to see the Chelsea owner being so utterly clueless. North against South? Really? Got to admit he's putting a smile on my face that Boehly lad. And great idea from Kloppo to bring in the Harlem Globetrotters as well. Wonder what team Tiger Woods' going to play for, North or South?
  19. When you have an owner who sakcs a manager like Tuchel 6 games into the season, we all know what's going tio happen next. There'll be no patience. no 3-4 years to build a winning team, but plenty of new managers the next couple of years. Luckily for us it's a recipy doomed do fail.
  20. We pressed well yesterday. That high pressuer only works if every man's doing his job. Jota does! Until Darwin learns to do the same Jota should be starting for us. Once again TAA just stops after being passed, leaving biig bird with too much to do. Result 1-1. This has to stop. Unfortunately Tsimikas is a left back and we really don't have anyone except Gomez to fill in. TAA really shoukd be benched for this, but we may not have that option. Great performance from Matip, Van Dijk, Thiago and Tsimikas. Good to see Jota back too. Over all we did well.
  21. So have I, not only against us but as a general way to adapt to the offside rule and the high line. With our high line we're obviously more vulnerable than others. We should do it too. Let Diaz make a run, defender sees he'll be caught offside and instinctively takes a step forward. Then release Salah who coukd be yards onside and still be clear on goal because of that step forward from the defender. All teams shoukld adapt to this. Naopoli is just very good at it.
  22. Harvey seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He'll learn that position qiuckly. Maybe lack of muscles, strenght and speed will be a problem, but I'm confident he'll learn from this. Best option we have at the moment
  23. There's a reason he didn't play for Juventus. We shouldn't expect too much.
