  1. Agreed.Joe has been brilliant this season. He's back looking like the player he was three or four years ago.
  2. We still have a really good team out there. Kelleher is the third best keeper in the league, Bradley is an incredible talent and Quansah is very promising lad. Anfield will make a huge difference today. I hope it's fucking feral in there. I'd be delighted with a draw but we can win today.
  3. Arsenal are good enough no doubt about it. I still think if we finish above City, we win it, but they are a fucking nuiscance. I just hope they cancel each other out in a few weeks and we can get to work on that goal difference that they have over us. If we draw tomorrow, it's seven. We really need to demolish Sheffield United, but a few days before the Mancs, that's a big ask. Being honest, if we draw tomorrow, it's a solid good par. We can sit back and play the kids in Europe and have a proper smash at the Mancs next weekend. Hopefully, Arsenal get through in Europe and they play City. I can't help but think that Spurs could be kingsmaker. They play City and Arsenal at home and we have them at home. I think they will take points off at least one of us. Villa will be nasty for us away and they are capable of taking points off the other two away. We all have nasty fixtures left. We will have players coming back at the right time. This will go to the last game and I think there will be three teams right to the last.
  4. Right now with the level of injuries we have, a draw isn't a bad result. A good par on a horrible hole. I hope we go for the win because going for the draw would be dangerous against the best club side in the world (I know cheating bastards) and ironically they struggle against pace and physicality. In fairness to Palace and Brentford, they always have a go against them and you can see they don't like it. They struggled against the basket case of Chelsea who have a bit of pace and power. City and Arsenal have to play each other so hopefully they both drop points, but at the very least one of them will. We'll have a lot of players coming back in the coming weeks so we may be the freshest squad at the most unlikely time. All three teams have nasty games left - that's why I want West Ham and Villa going far in Europe. Equally, we want the Mancs needing something against Arsenal and having a chance of top 4 (5?) when they play. If we win, I think we're strong favourites. Hopefully, it's one of the great Anfield days.
  5. Last year my mate said to me he could be a future player of the year. He said that when he was struggling but there were glimpses. I didn't laugh at him but equally thought he could be bombed out to La Liga or Serie A after two years. I agree with my mate. He's terrific and has it in his locker to be an elite player.
  6. This. He will be our next number 1. Let Ali have the next two years - realistically he will get plenty of games anyway because Ali gets injured a lot. We can't let this turn into 1991 again with stalwarts leaving the club. Equally we can't let top class young lads leave. He's great with his feet but I think I heard that he played outfield until he was about fourteen and he was exceptionally gifted, but it was just by chance that he ended up in goal and loved being a keeper. He's a great presence about him and just like with Conor, I don't see them as weak links for Sunday. That's a credit to both of them.
  7. It's mad isn't it - he's always like looks okay etc while Pep is always talking like his players have just beheaded by ISIS and then show up fit as fuck at the weekend. Hope Konate is okay for the weekend. We need a bit of luck with injuries.
  8. I couldn't give a shite about England, but Southgate seems like a thoroughly likeable and decent man. A small part of me doesn't want me to wish incredible ill will on a guy who seems sound, but being honest it would be hillariously car crash. Like Ole, he would have all the media covering for him after home defeats to Bournemouth or Crystal Palace. To be fair, I found it hard to dislike Van Gaal, who seemed like a good egg. A mate of mine met him once and said he was really sound. Said he was chatting away with his wife in the car about how much he loved our great sides of the 70s and 80s.
  9. Simon Jordan is spot on about the fuckers right now on Talksport. Jim White is such a little weasel.
  10. Arsenal are a very good team. Rightly or wrongly, they are title winning quality and even though they have spent big, Arteta has done a good job. I personally think City remain the team to beat for obvious reasons though. They also pipped us twice (i know i know) in tight races. Equally, I have a feeling they would view us as the bigger threat than Arsenal because they know we can last the course, whereas Arsenal have no such history. I agree they are like us around 2018. Hopefully, them and City end up going far in Europe and batter each other in a dirty two legged encounter.
  11. Fanbases can change. They were a relatively biggish club with a loyal 30k group. They got a bit of success and added knobheads and probably some of the "sound" ones became knobheads with a bit of success. The opposite of Everton, who were very big and now are as small time as they come. I mean City are small time, but more dickhead pricks that won the lottery types and lord it over others. Showing my age, but I used to like Everton winning if we couldn't. Now, they can go fuck themselves and all the others can as well. City were just never on my radar bar a period in the 70s. Fact is, going on the few times I've looked at Bluemoon, they are as toxic as you can get. Never used to mind Arsenal, but again they have turned into a horrible bunch. I walked into a pub in Norwich with a few mates for an away a few years ago and got the full Scouse gags from the pub comedian with the old "why do Scousers hate England" topic brought up by others. We just stand out in this country. It's what makes me laugh about the Blueshite these days. They're like Uncle Toms.
  12. I'm terrified of them taking out a few of our lads. City should feel the same but I think they would be snidier to us. Gutted playing them in the cup but our squad is looking a lot stronger because of the young lads compared to how it did a few months ago.
  13. Semi-bestial supporters made me laugh in fairness.
  14. Really love him. A world class player. What a steal he was.
  15. Ali may be our greatest ever goalkeeper. Possibly is. However, we would be daft to let this kid leave without a buy back. Personally, I would loan him. He has the tools to be top class.
  16. Cockaamamie - nice reference to Clint Eastwood in In the Line of Fire. Classic film that.
  17. Great post that. Sums it up. Ali is world class and arguably one of the top ten goalies of all time imo. Qweef is a really good young keeper - bear in mind goalkeepers keep maturing. He's not Ali and most likely will never be that good. Equally, in a few years time, he could be world class. We have had lots of great midfielders since Souey went off to Italy. They weren't in his class because players that good don't come around too often. Same logic with Ali and Qweef. They were still Liverpool class whether it was Whelan, Molby or McMahon in the 80s, or Alonso, Mascherano, Gini and Fabinho and yeah Hendo, even if he wasn't in the other's class imo. Even Stevie wasn't as good as Souey, but I guess that's for another debate. Ali fucks up often enough and he is the best keeper in the world. For me, a top goalie shows how good they are by their response. Qweef was poor for Luton's goal the other night, even if he was a tad unlucky. He played well the rest of the game and was world class yesterday. That shows he's made of the right stuff and Jurgen and our great players like Ali and Virgil are constantly bigging him up so I'm sure they aren't doing it just to be sound.
  18. Wow just wow. Qweef was the motm for me, but the senior players really stepped up. Delighted for Virgil getting the goal. The kids were amazing. They looked so composed. I mean I consider Bradley to be absolutely top class already, but the lads that came on just looked so comfortable. We might have the walking wounded coming back in the coming weeks, but these lads will be vital for us in the coming months if we are to win more trophies.
  19. It was only lads on here that made me aware of it. Might as well be a free tenner coming out of an atm. Have young Conor to score as well. He's a confident kid so will get a few goals for us.
  20. Put him in my bet builder. The classic Endo yellow. Love the lad. He's been a great signing.
