The FA cup loss could be a blessing in disguise. We were so nochalant against them and it bit us on the arse. At home in the league we could have had seven if we were competent. Genuinely one of the most frustrating games I've seen. Today, we are even 6/10 as a team and we win. If they have Casemiro out it will be a boost because even though he is past it, he was a top player and knows big games like this. Varane out is huge if he is out as we expect. Similar to Casemiro. No laughing at the back of the class, but Evans is a loss for them. He was a good defender in his day and has a bit of nous that kid isn't going to have. He might be a mid level Championship player now, but nous is worth a bit in a one of game, which this is for them. They have enough players to worry us, but again we show them respect *not the occasion* and we win. -
Come on mate, that's not the spirit. Firstly with City, we are most likely allowed one slip up against them in the run in - maybe not if they run in a cricket score in one or two games because then it's goal difference. I don't see them like the previous City teams that pipped us by a point. Don't get me wrong an excellent team, but I think they have a draw in them. With Arsenal, they are an excellent team, but I still think they'll drop points somewhere. With us, we have a number of tricky games including the most mediocre United team since 1990. We have a number of top class players due back in the coming days and weeks. Pretty good timing. I see us dropping points at Villa or tomorrow. We win tomorrow though and it's huge.

She's girl next door good looking. Likes the football and seems a nice enough girl. I actually like her for being pissed off we scored. Shows it's not some kind of an act.

We aren't going to Ferguson's United or Kendall's Everton (80's one). We play the games and the team in front of us and it's 6 points. We play the occasion and it's probably 2-4. They are shite but the FA cup result may turn out to be the ultimate blessing for us.
-
Being honest, Arsenal only winning by two might be a bit of a gift. I had that boxed off as at least five. If we can eat into that goal difference tomorrow, it would be massive. Very good result for City. That Foden is some player. I will say that City don't like fast and physical players and if Villa's second team had a bit more cop on, they may have caused them more difficulties. All three of us will drop points imo. This weekend is one I'm seriously worried about so if we come through it with 3 points, it's gigantic.

I don't dispute that Haaland has world class attributes. Guardiola essentially changed their style to accommodate him and reluctantly I consider him one of the greatest managers of all time. My point is that Kane is a better player and being honest, I genuinely think he is one of only a handful of players that could have improved City - I know City won the treble last year but I still am not sure Haaland made them better. The fact that they won the treble is possibly proof in the pudding for his supporters that he did.
-
I just think Welsh he mightn't age that well. I guess you could argue he has a form of footballing intelligence to be in the right place to finish things and he does have serious power but lads that have a footballing brain can make up for loss of their physical attributes. Kane definitely fits that bill imo.
-
Fair point. Kane is a world class finisher imo - maybe Haaland might slightly have the edge in this respect. As footballers, it's night and day. Kane could be still world class at 35. I'm not sure where Haaland is at 35, but I don't think he'll be elite level. It's funny though. I love Nunez. He seems a very likeable lad and you can see he would kill his granny to win a game. Very talented...but wasteful at times. That is one thing Haaland generally isn't. As a footballer, Nunez is superior though.
-
Kane is a far superior player to him imo. His all round play is outstanding. Thank God, he didn't go to either Mancs. His links to Spurs, means he won't go to Arsenal - imo he would be near perfect for them. I would love him here but that will never happen. I couldn't give a shite about England, so it's like I've a personal interest in the guy. Mind you, he doesn't piss me off in any way. Haaland is a world class finisher, but his general play is mediocre. Not league 2 like Keane said, but maybe lower end premier league. He can't light a candle to Kane. If City had Kane, they would be pretty incredible. As good as Haaland is in terms of elements of his game, I actually don't think he enhances City.

Hello season 2019/2020 hope you're keeping well. Edit: before the pandemic obviously!

I was rightly told a few days ago by a few on here that we can't take Sheffield United for granted in terms of working the goal difference. 3 more points please. United does feel huge because as shit as they are, it's a gigantic banana skin. If we get the win there, it will give us gigantic momentum. The 3 points on City with a nice goal difference on them is huge. Obviously they are a huge threat but they don't have much wriggle room. Arsenal are a very good side. Still, I see them dropping points along the way.
-
The next three are huge. Brighton are awkward enough. Sheffield United to work the goal difference and the Mancs for retribution and a horrible away out of the way. 9 points and a big swing for the goal difference is the par here and a really good par. Any win at that shithole is to be celebrated but the fact is only for us being fucking imbeciles at finishing, we would have thumped the bastards over 90 mins in the cup. Some nasty hurdles left then...but I think that will give us huge momentum for them. The Champions League draws for Arsenal and City are a thing of beauty...ideally a lovely Battle of England in the semis and a few games postponed. Hillariously, Akanji has now picked up a knock. I'm convinced it's pre-arranged with both sets of managers. In fairness, friendlies are ridiculous at this stage of a season and players going for multiple trophies shouldn't be risked.

Fair points in there. Football was changing and we were hanging in because of the team we had. I was out in town with a mate who worked with the club one time at the end of one of the seasons in the 80s and he was literally telling us that in the space of a week, the club had got huge offers for McMahon, Barnes, Whelan, Nicol and Houghton. Kenny didn't want to sell, but there was apparently a bit of pressure on him to do so. My mate was saying it was a constant thing from the Italian and Spanish clubs. Ultimately, none of those left on his watch, but that did impact us getting other top notch players in. The price for Pallister was bonkers at the time, but what a good defender he was. I'll be honest, some of those signings had talent. If Kenny had stayed past 1991, a few of them probably would have had decent careers here.
-
Reading back on that era brings back a lot of memories. Two things here; we have to make sure we get the right manager this summer and secondly we support him. Kenny wasn't supported near the end and we were holding on to being the best just by virtue of the players we had who were getting on. It's no secret from that era that nearly all our team was being offered serious money by Spanish and Italian clubs and the club was open to selling. The fact they stayed showed old school loyalty and maybe the massive hurdle it was for British and Irish players to go abroad then. The European ban really seemed to hurt us more than other clubs. Souey seemed like a great fit (Xabi now?) and he was backed massively but the players he bought were expensive flops. I can't really blame us for going back in for Rushy - I'm trying to think of an equivalent but maybe Trent going to Real and us buying him back the following year if he was shite there. I've no doubt Shearer and Keane would have ended up here if Kenny had stayed and maybe the Mancs would have got fed up and sacked Ferguson. Sliding doors moments.

Feel very sorry for her, William and her kids and the rest of her family. I'm no fan of the monarcy, but she is a person with a young family and it's a fucking vile disease.
-
It's horrific looking but seeing the flag shaggers lose their lives is hillarious.
-
Fingers crossed our lads get fuck all minutes for the most part and our rivals and the bastards we are going to play have their little darlings run into the ground and pick up as many knocks as possible. I'm looking at Belgium and Portugal here, as well as Ingerlund.
-
Good news that. I think Arsenal play Spurs the weekend of the West Ham game so could see that being the 4:30 game with us getting the 2pm game.
-
Anyone have any idea when the Fulham and West Ham games may be scheduled for. I could see Fulham being the classic 12:30 Saturday job.

Blues are our dads, our mams, our siblings, our husbands/wives, our kids, our best mates etc. My dads a Blue, my mams a Red. They're both in their 90s and watch the derby games with another couple in their 90s who are Red and Blue. They despair at the way things have changed between the fans. The rivalry has gone toxic over the last twenty years, but the Mancs (both to be honest) and Chelsea are on a different level with nearly every club like Luton, Newcastle or Villa ready to sing the ditties in the name of banter. My mate clocked a lad on the Kop doing the Munich years ago and nearly everyone applauded him. The stewards just looked away because 99% of people realise that's not "banter". The decent Mancs need to speak up. Imagine that cunt is a policeman. What a fucking beaut. Words fail me.
