From what I'm led to believe, that's not true. He HAD to take the bigger offer, and that comes from a well informed source. I know fuck all about business deals or anything like that, so I can only go on what was said by the source. And also, Moores knows he fucked up and is apparently doing his best (no laughing at the back) to rectify the situation.

If you were in M&P's position you wouldn't have had a choice. They offered more money than DIC so, from what I am led to believe, they were legally bound to sell to the highest bidder. Something to do with responsibility to shareholders.
