  1. i think these results went great, ok, it would have been nice for the mancs to drop points, but come on, it was botlton, Utd still have to play arsenal, Chelsea, and us of course,

god willing we beat the mancs on sunday, i can see them lose at the very least, one of the other big 4 games, i was more worried about chelsea, as i thought they had a handy enough run in

ill worry about Sunday, if the manc cunts beat us, then thats it,

Great results if you want the Mancs to win the league....

We're 11 points behind so even if we win on Sunday we'll never catch them. If Chelsea had won today, they'd had a fair chance to win, and I would prefer them to win over the Mancs any day.

  2. He said going up to girls whilst they were with their fellas trying to chat them up offering them drinks etc... i'll find out were he was.

It's unlikely that he offered anyone drinks - he can't afford it...

  3.

Barnsley did not steal victory here. They richly deserved it.

That's a ridiculous statement. I can't remember the last game at Anfield where we had more chances. I just checked the stats and we actually had more goal attempts in this game than the 8-0 over Besiktas in the CL.

Our finishing was awful (as usual!), but to claim Barnsley richly deserved to win?? Come on....

  4. Our movement is quite appalling. Only Lucas is running out there( he has been poor aswell, but at least he is working ). Whenever one of our player is in posession...the other just stands in their posession. In a situation we are in, the least thing you`d expect is that they are running, moving into positions, helping your team mate out.

Totally agree. Our movement off the ball is shocking. We lack creativity. Why isn't Alonso even on the bench?

  5. Cracking deal for mascherano. Absolute bargain. When you think the mancs paid 18million for carrick. unbelievable. I actually like the current stadium plans aswell, wouldve been interesting to see the manc firms plans. Im sure theyl be leaked some time or another. Cheers dave

I very good point. I think Carrick was signed for £18,6M on a four-year £50.000 per week, which totals £29M!!

  6. Fortunate to lead at the break according to Keys. I fucking hate that man so much it's unnatural.

Fortunate to lead?? That was the most one-sided 45 mins I've seen for ages. What a clueless knob that Keys is!

I think we have quite played well, but lack that killer instinct as usual...

  7. Paying £6M for Bridge would be utter madness!

First og all we don't need him as he's no improvement on Aurelio or Insua (I'd much rather give him a shot in the team). But more importantly we need to use any available money to strengthen our weakest positions (2 wingers, a striker and a backup centre back), not on an average left back! :wallbutt:

  8. October 1992. Sheffield Wednesday 1-0. Don Hutchison of all people scored the winner after 80 minutes. My only game in the old standing KOP, something I'm very grateful to have experienced.

    The team on the day:

    1 Bruce Grobbelaar

    2 Mike Marsh

    3 David Burrows

    4 Steve Nicol

    5 Torben Piechnik

    6 Don Hutchison

    7 Steve McManaman

    8 Paul Stewart

    9 Ian Rush

    10 Jamie Redknapp

    11 Mark Walters

    Subs:

    12 Ronny Rosenthal

    13 David James

    14 Nick Tanner

One thing I enjoy about the fanzine is that there's plenty of reading in it, but this could also be working against it. There's possibly enough articles and commentary in each issue to produce two issues rather than one. One way of doing this would be increasing the font size so one page becomes two for example (it would certainly help us older bastards to read it as well). I've often thought that the format looks squashed.

By doing this you could, you could have twice as many publications from the same amount of articles.

This is a very good point, Dave. I've yet to see a magazine filled with so much text in each page.... I would easily pay £3 or more for half the content in bigger fonts. Also the excellent diary would be a bit more up to date with a few more issues per season.

I also think the supporters clubs could be a route to try. I remember that I first got to hear about TLW from your excellent articles in the Norwegian supporters clubs magazine "The Kopite". Shortly thereafter I became a subscriber. Perhaps you can get the same articles published in other countries as well and widen your market?

And you should definitely try to get some sort of a deal with TTWAR to offer their subscribers to continue with TLW instead.

Finally I don't think you should be worried about making money off the website. Whatever profit you can make on both the magazine and the website should go into your income.

Anyway, I hope you find a solution to secure the fanzine for the future!

  10. I think this is bad news for us. I fear this will make it more difficult to win the PL.

This means a top manager like Capello or Hiddink will come in and probably have an ulimited transfer budget to build an even better team. Mourinho is a good manager, but Rafa has had a tactial edge over him and I'd prefer Maureen to continue and having to settle for mainly bosman players like this summer (Malouda apart).

And the PL will be more dull without "the spesial one". He's a big twat and has an ego ten times the size of the moon, but as someone said earlier in the thread now we'll be back to the boring wenger and fergie mind games :no

  11. Torres is our best striker and the other three are all from a class below him, having their merits and flaws (Vornonin benefits from being a freebie, though obviously we've not seen too much of him yet). If the team keeps winning and Rafa keeps putting Kuyt in to play his part then that's fine by me.

I would guess one of Crouch/Kuyt will be off next summer, and my bet will be on the former. If Babel proves to be more of a winger, then we'll bring in another top notch striker. If Babel proves to be more of a striker, then we'll bring in a top notch winger.

Happy so far though. We've just won 6-0. We're top of the league and everyone is working hard and looking hungry for this. Long may it continue.

I think it's a bit early to classify Voro as second rate. He looked ace i preseason and has scored 3 goals in 2 starts. So far so good...

  12. Rafa's into his 4th season and still people cling to the idea that we have a first 11.

Spot on. I am amazed how many people still thinks there's such a thing as a first 11 with Rafa. It's now a squad game (for sure!) We've already used 20 players this season in the first 6 games. Rafa will change the team for almost every game depending on the opposition, tactics, injuries and form. He likes his possibilities does Rafa....

  13. Indeed he will. Tonight convinced me he isn't good enough. His goalscoring record has been poor since he joined us, but tonight he really was shit.

Kuyt shit?? No way. Kuyt was MoM for me. Two goals, a great cross for the first goal, hit the bar, some good link-up play and incredible workrate all game. What more do you want?

Very good performances from Benayoun and Mascherano as well.
