Vote with your feet. If anyone's interested, I will be redecorating my bedroom on the day of the Boro game. You're all more than welcome to come and watch the paint dry. Alternatively, you could go to the match and bore yourself silly.

The only way to protest (and it wont be an enjoyable one)
Original202 replied to Steve's topic in FF - Football Forum
There's a lot of people I know who don't want to renew their tickets, but they know that if they don't, they'll won't have a chance of getting one for years. With any other industry this type of action works, shame football is different. All the clubs are aware of it aswell. We all moan about expensive ticket prices, but we all still pay for them. No win situation? -
Can't really see Cisse and another 'big' signing unless we offload a few players. Diao, Diouf, Heskey and a few others clogging up the wage bill. I like Wright-Phillips though. Everytime I've seen City play he's stood out. If Houllier was allowed to sign him though we'd no doubt see an end to the little lads attacking style and he would lose his pace. If he signed under a new manager however, then maybe it'd be a good move. £10m is a lot of money for a young player I think. Doubt City would be in a position to turn down lower offers if they got relegated.

I think the sides competing for fourth place are embarressed to go for it. And so they should be. How any of the Charlton, Villa, Newcastle, Birmingham, even Boro, and ourselves could be in the European Cup next year is beyond me. How English people can say the Scottish league is shite I don't know.

I don't really think the board are going to be too arsed by a handful of signatures on a website thats been set up by some kid* who's studying web design at college. I don't think any protest will work anyway. The board don't give a shit about what the supporters think. How about we have a silent protest? Sit in complete silence for 90 minutes at the match? (Whats that? We do anyway?) Wouldn't too hard to organise, as long as no one snores we could do it no probs. I'm actually thankful to Gerard Houllier, I've catched up on quite a bit of sleep these last two games. *Probably

Sad. Someone actually spent time setting up a website? FFS

Probably would have been better if the kit heads won. We aren't getting fourth place, we're competing for a UEFA spot now. Had Villa won they'd have gone ahead of us and the kit heads would have the game in hand.

I don't think theres that big a difference between 4th and 5th place. The money that the champions league generates is over estimated. Qualifying for the group stage via fourth place wouldn't give us as much as people think. If we went on the quarter finals we'd make a lot more out of it. But thats doubtful that we would get that far. There's no guarantee we'd even get through the qualifiers. Would it prevent us from attracting new players if we didn't qualify for the champions league though? That could hinder the next managers options. Where would it leave Owen? (Is anyone really arsed?! Great player that he is, he hasn't looked too interested recently). No win situation. Get fourth and he stays put. Finish fifth, he goes, and its another year in the UEFA cup which isn't as rewarding in terms of the financial side and in terms of attracting top players. Be a joke if we do qualify, it'll just show how crap the competition is! We'd be as crap as the likes of Panathanaikos!

Bet he's a Blue. Can't stand people behaving like that. Be they Stewards, Policemen/Women or worst of all, Bouncers.

What else did he treat us to? "We've turned the corner" "Our season starts now" "We know what we have to do" "The effort of my pliers was magnificent" "Wolves are a good side" "Don't forget, we are a young side" "Don't forget, we had a game in midweek" Don't care what he says anymore really, until he announces: "It's time for a change" But at that point, I'll stop listening before he rattles off everything he's done for us and how he's prepared the new managers team for success etc....

He's available on a free in the summer as his contract is up. Meijer for Player Manger

Wheres the bald guy with classes gone? Stewards getting really strict now, making far too big a deal of people standing. Didn't recognise half of the people sat near me. Don't know if STHs were staying away because of the performances on the pitch, or if they had made other plans...

Last night was better, but like we've said so often this year, it means nothing on its own. We have to carry on. Baffled at why Henchoz was dropped, but Igor actually did well so real problems in the end. Think Baros was rested which wasn't a bad idea. If we got desperate we could have always brought him on. Allez allez got going by the usual lads at the back of 202 - along with the usual songs about our past.... Can't moan though really, at least some people try to get a bit of an atmosphere going. Can't expect everyone to be really up for it though, football has been awful and people just can't wait for the end of the season. Credit to the Pompey fans though, nice to see them applauding Gerrard off.

Good work Gav. It seems Didi is an expert in connecting with shots that are either in the air or are moving. When it comes to dead balls, all we get are daisy cutters!

Off the echo site. ------------------------------------------------------------------ LIVERPOOL youngster Neil Mellor has been prevented from playing another match this season because of Football League red tape. Mellor recently returned to Anfield after ending a loan spell at West Ham early. The striker, thought he would be eligible to play for the reserves and force his way back into the Reds' first team squad. However, the Football League are refusing to sanction the premature termination of his deal at Upton Park. That means, technically, he must stay registered as a West Ham player until the summer. Since the youngster has no desire to return to London, the rest of his season may now be limited to training at Melwood. Liverpool have appealed against the ruling and have been supported by the Premier League. West Ham also had no objection to Mellor returning to "We would like to have Neil available for at least the reserves, but the matter is in the hands of the Football League," manager Gerard Houllier said today. "The Premier League and Football League officials are meeting to try and sort the situation out." Steve Finnan, who missed the weekend fixture with a shoulder injury, is expected to be available tomorrow. Vladimir Smicer has returned to Merseyside. training and could be back in the next fortnight. Bruno Cheyrou, however, isn't likely to recover in time to face Portsmouth. "It was very unfortunate Bruno couldn't play because he was firing in training," said Houllier. Steven Gerrard clashed with him in training accidentally. "Stevie was okay, but Bruno's injury flared up in the warm-up. Hopefully, Bruno will be back by the end of the week." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats absolutely pathetic. Another set back for the lad. Wouldn't even be able to play our reserves would he?

Think he's an awful writer. Programme is always full of mistakes and the magazine is no different. Sick of all this patronising "True fan" balls. Since when did their become a set of criteria we have to meet?

Waltonred, you say the Portugese league isn't that strong, but what is the Scottish League? Erik Meijer's contract is up this summer by the way..... ;-)

Two crackers on .tv today: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N144231040316-1342.htm See if you can read that one without shaking your head or getting wound up. Should be used to such comments about Referees etc but everytime he opens his mouth it seems to get worse. And this one has my favourite GH quote in it: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N144229040316-1315.htm "We know what we have to do" Difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it though isn't there? Heard it all before. Change the record.

Toshack Britsh Knows the club/city/fans Well respected Lot of managerial experience at different levels and range of clubs Manged the biggest club in the world Has his teams playing attacking football (His first Real side still hold the record for the most goals scored in La Liga in one season) Good contacts throughout Europe Wouldn't take or give any crap Either him or this Mourinho fella, don't know much about him, but from what I've heard he seems like a good candidate. Does he speak fluent English though?
-
Kenny has never denied he wants the job either though.
-
What makes his latest gaff even worse is that we didn't have a game last weekend! He even said the rest last weekend would do us good. Surprised he never used the "blessing in disguise" line after not having to play in the FA Cup last week. He either has a very short memory or/and thinks we're all fools.
-
Can you imagine the ticketing policy if he did get involved? Kop full of Thai's with cameras and Michael Owen scarfs! Come on Riverpool! You never wark arone!

I get the feeling that at least one of Moores and Houllier won't be at the club come August. Sadly, I think it'll Moores who ends up leaving. Houllier is too stubborn and arrogant to resign. Either Moores will do the right thing and sack him, or he'll end up walking himself. Don't think Houllier quite understood the point Moores was making at the AGM when he said he may have to stand down if results didn't improve...
