  1. A great listen on the walk this morning, thanks to all.
  2. We went to our first gig since January 2020 last night in the Town Hall in Galway. They had vaccine certification checks at the door and compulsory mask wearing throughout but it was worth all of it to hear live music. We saw The Lost Brothers with Irish music legend Donal Lunny (Planxty, Moving Hearts etc) and it was an incredible show. The Lost Brothers are an Everly Brothers style duo, brilliant song-writing and harmonies but Donal Lunnys bouzouki playing elevated it so much.
  3. I loved the new Connelly book, Bosch still has teeth in it but it's Ballards show now. I think she's an interesting character and could see her teaming up with Boschs daughter eventually.
  4. On the sending off, maybe the ref was going to give a yellow and VAR had a word and told him it was a red.
  5. I've started The Gunslinger 3 times, Once as a book and twice as an audiobook and I gave up each time - could it be skipped?
  6. Almost finished the final part of Lord Of The Rings read by Andy Serkis. It's incredible, wonderful, like discovering it for the first time as a teenager. Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien on Audible. https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/0008487294?source_code=ASSOR150021921000R
  7. If he comes to Ireland next year I'm dragging my two sons, 14 and 21, along - both like music but are not Bruce fans. They need to see him play though, he's a one off live perfomer and it may be one of the last chances.
  8. One thing that is being missed from all the mainstream coverage - they are the Spanish champions - they are a really good team, have spent a fortune and we beat them. If it had been Real Madrid or Barcelona in their place we'd be lauded but it's all lucky Liverpool and plucky Athletico.
  9. From The Guardian min by min on Saturday (Scott Murrary) "29 min: Matip strides out of defence, not so much avoiding a couple of Watford challenges as ignoring them. He’s a magnificent player. Previously under-rated, but everyone’s caught on these days."
  10. Paddy Moloney, an Irish musical legend RIP.
  11. I've been listening to loads of Tom Petty recently, on top of him being musically amazing his videos were so weird and wonderful.
  12. What a line "No pasaran the pledge that made them fight" also Declan Sinnot is a musical genius.
  13. I loved this album, hadn't heard it in years until Spotify added it to a daily mix.
  14. He coached at a soccer school I attended when I was 13 (1984). He was incredibly funny, kind and generous with his time. I was a kid and didn't appreciate it at all, typical. I said to someone on twitter the other day he played on my 5-a-side team and they said "you played with Jimmy Greaves?" and then it hit me.
  15. Yes, I love the casual Everton disdain. Nice debut by Terry too!
  16. He's really talented - thanks for sharing and good luck to him.
  17. Has there ever been a song that sounds as incredible unplugged and quiet as when it absolutely rocks. On one of his last tours when he played albums in their entirety, he played Born to Run (my favourite) in Limerick - when the opening bars of this played, wow.
