Rewatched a 1996 John Sayles film called Lone Star with Chris Cooper, Frances McDormand,Matthew McConaughey and Kris Kristofferson. When I originally watched it, I thought it was great and bought the DVD, it's still brilliant. Slow burning but great performances all through, especially Kristofferson as an evil sheriff and Cooper.

These guys are really brilliant and becoming a huge act in Ireland, selling out multiple nights in Vicar Street (1000 people). I saw them pre Covid in a small venue and they were incredible, l just got tickets for the whole family to see them in Galway on Dec 22, should be amazing.

Two Southern crime novels finished, first Ozark Dogs by Eli Cranor, a good debut novel about a feud between two families. I love this genre but can never get used to the gun culture. Second, Heaven, My Home by Attica Locke, it's again a good crime story set just after Trump wins the election in 2016 in Texas. Deals with lots of racial issues, the Aryan brotherhood etc.
