Agree with all of that apart from last sentence. He does make them more secure at the back unless thay are playing us! What gets me is the numberof times that teams put out weakened sides and are happy top get beat 2 or 3 nil.

Morning all, Couldn't feckin sleep with all this hanging over us. Had a dream we accepted £104m - that would be nice! Just wanted to say that this is a time for calm heads and conducting ourselves in The Liverpool Way. LFC have played this absolutely spot on in my opinion. The contract is there to be honoured. I would love it if we made him stay for the rest of his contract (play him in the reserves if necessary) but football is a business and unless he sorts his head out then he will be sold. I think a backlash from supporters is detrimental if we want him to stay. I am hoping that he had had his head turned by his agent and Chelsea and that he will come to his senses. If he does, despite what everyone says, we have still got a world class forward on our hands and there are not too many of them around. At the moment I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because everyone has gone in to work or woke up at some time or another and thought "f**k it, I'm off", most of the time we dont act on it for a variety of reasons. Torres isn't a God and therefore like the rest of us he is going to do some silly irrational things occassionally. Lets see if Kenny can talk him round and persuade him that really there is nothing better out there than LFC. As Henry Winter has said, a move to Chelsea and their so called "fans" and he will soon realise it a step down in class. Lke everybody else I feel hurt and betrayed by Torres at the moment especially on a day, when on the face of it, we should be celebrating is a very decent signing. As we all know Gerrard has flirted with a move a couple of times and has stayed and he still plays his heart out for the club and the supporters appreciate and respect everything he has done for the club. There is still a chance for Torres to rectify the situation and we now need him to understand that this is a special place and to be big and admit that he has done wrong, like LFC have done over the past couple of years with H&G. More of a general statement but wouldn't be great if one club (preferably us) has the balls to say to a player "you are not going and you can see out your contract with the ressies". Will never happen but would love it.

Sorry if this old ground, why do we have a transfer window as from what I can see all it does is create problems. What was wrong with being able to sign players up to a given point in the season?

What was bad about that game also, was the the way Brum just rolled over and died. The defenders were just standing off the Utd players and giving them yards to run in to. In fact Brum didn't even bother fom the off. It really pisses me off thet teams go to OT and just think that it is a lost cause. FFS, at least have a go!

Excellent point, the faster we move the ball the more the better players come to the fore; today it was Meireles, Maxi, Torres and Lucas for me. Also thought Poulsen, to be fair was decent in the first half but in the 2nd half he started going back to his old ways giving the ball away every time.

Enough about England, Aussie are terrible losers which is fine in my opinion but they are fucking horrible when they win, which is unforgiveable. I think the next two tests are too close to call but still favour England as they have slightly less to do to retain the ashes. However we got our arse kicked here because we got over confident, great win in the last test and a fantastic start to this test but let them score too many and give them a foothold in the game.

Chaps, Quick techy question. The hard disk has failed on my desktop, no probs as all important data is backed up. I am buying a new hard disk and will install at the weekend and would like to install Windows 7. I can get Windows 7 Upgrade obviosuly a lot cheaper than Windows 7 Full Packaged version. My desktop originally had an OEM version of Windows XP which is a obviosuly a legit license. Question is, can I just buy Windows & upgarde version and do clean install on new hard disk or will it attempt to find existing verisonof windows xp which obviosly will not be there. Cheers A.

Totally agree, some times you watch football and you wonder how do people get to earn a living from it. Take Raul Meireles (sp?), Roy plays him in the middle and he starts looking pretty decent. before everybody starts - that is not a dig at Roy but an exampleof what the average Liverpool can see but for some reason the manager cant. Back to Dirk, I would play Kelly at right back and move Johnson forward. Again something most of us have been banging on about for a while.

He is 30 years old already and as Randy says his effectiveness is reducing as age increases. It seems to me that this season he has a galloping style of run which seems to me an inidicator of him trying to run fast but cant really do it anymore.
