  1. The National Anthem is someone else's - everyone else who is a citizen of the country. I'm sure there are many military veterans find your booing offensive. I'm sure you're reasoning will be comforting on the black eyes or bloody noses that will inevitably happen. By morons, I grant you, but will still happen.
  2. Of course they should be allowed to. It's a free country. I didn't suggest that they shouldn't be. I think its moronic and hypocritical to castigate England fans for doing the same as well as being a generally gobshite thing to do. And sing a different boring tune will you other than your constant bleating that everyone who disagrees with your world view must read the 'Daily Mail'. It makes you sound like a cock. It's rich for a leftie to accuse anyone who isn't a leftie of swallowing propaganda.
  3. Really? As you seem to understand the logic of my statement, explain it then as you understand it. On my original point, it's not just Liverpool fans who the whole country will despise, its people from Liverpool. Scousers will inevitably get knocked about over this. I'm sure over the years there have been discussions on here about how the moronic booing of other countries' anthems makes the world hate the British/English and how that hate would be deserved. Well, you're now wearing that tag. The whole country will be hating scousers and those who booed the anthem or agree with the booing will whinge about how no-one likes scousers and about how scousers are victimised. Well done.
  4. Fine. Then don't moan when what seems like the whole country say that Liverpool fans are gobshites.
  5. Probably the same daft twats who were booing the National Anthem. Liverpool fans can't complain about what seems like *everyone* having a 'warped view' of us when some of us behave in a warped manner. Those booing give those who hate us the perfect excuse to think we're all gobshites then complain when people call us all gobshites.
  6. Kept the country afloat, my arse. I worked in public services for 30 years. I know they're fucked.
  7. Thank you for a reasonable response. For what it's worth... I despise this government. But then, I despise politicians of all colours so I can't be accused of being partisan. They all have and continue to ruin this country. You (and others) and I may differ as to why we think they're ruining the country but we're not on vastly different pages. I have no faith or confidence in any of the public services or in the Civil Service. The education system is broken and the media have been bought. The country is broken and its either through decades of criminal incompetence or deliberate policy. I dislike our choice of national anthem and have always thought other songs or hymns would be more appropriate. I don't see it as any form of 'homage' to the monarchy but as the song which marks out our country. Just as any other national anthem does. That so many people agree with booing it is a symptom of the national self-loathing that has permeated the minds of the activist progressive Left in this country. Those Left hate this country and you see the same thing with the Left in the USA. As we live in a free country, anyone is free to boo who they like. That doesn't make such booing not low or classless because, in a free country, you can be low and classless. The irony is, the socialist utopia that the Left crave would imprison you for booing the National Anthem. This is abundantly evident by how the Left cancel anyone who doesn't agree with them.
  8. 'Brexity gobshite'. You made me laugh, well done, and you can feel all warm inside knowing that I'm laughing at you.
  9. Time for one of my tri-annual posts... Booing the National Anthem is low and classless. It's on the same par as the moronic England fans who boo the anthems of other nations. It's interesting to watch and read the bunker mentality of people when it's their own moronic behaviour which invites the shots against them in the first place and who then claim that everyone is against them. Cue the leftie abuse that will call me a 'Daily Mail reader' or something else just as intelligent...
  10. We do know that we are free to make our own decisions and not have them made for us by unelected bureaucrats who no public voted in or can vote out I think Boris ballsed up the Withdrawal Agreement by setting up a notional border in the Irish Sea. That seemed weak to me although it seems they *may* be making efforts to undo that. Even so, it will take a small number of years for the after-effects of Brexit to settle down. Once they do I have no doubt that trade will be as easy as ever it was because, crucially, easy trade benefits both sides. The EU is a busted flush and will soon be history. It's their own fault because they got power greedy and acted in the best interests of politics and politicians rather than of people.
  11. Made me chuckle..! My twopenneth - if this virus was as deadly to all as, I dunno, ebola, then a lockdown would be justified. Given some scientists think that 70% of the infected never know they have it and that your chances of hospitalisation or worse, dying from it, are very very small, I think placing onerous restrictions on the lives of everyone is the wrong policy. In my view the weak and vulnerable should have been shielded while everyone else got on with their lives but used sensible and proportionate precautions (such as those dirty bastards who don't wash their hands after using the bog learning to wash their hands more frequently). The herd immunity sounded the right way to me. Instead we now have a shattered economy. Haven't read any of this thread and I don't intend to - I just dipped in for the first time for a long time.
  12. Seriously scary stuff right there. Fuck democracy so long as you get to choose who's in power. You angling for a job at the EU? They share your views on 'the right result'.
  13. So your Italian mate runs from one corrupt government into the arms of another. And that makes sense to you? Why didn't he instead do what he could to speak out about domestic corruption? Use his vote accordingly? It sounds like you're suggesting the EU is the lesser of two evils. That's not a good advert for the EU.
  14. Speaking of internet warriors - you're quick to criticise the style of others' writing. How about YOU answering the question I set you after your tirade at me? Prove you are smarter than you sounded? Waiting to hear from you...
  15. You're a star, mate. Do you 'fancy' the exact same challenge I set you last night? When you're brave enough to do that you might have the right to ask others to do the same. You won't though because when you look through your previous posts you'll see plenty of bile and nastiness and will stop right there.
  16. For someone who doesn't give a fuck you tone your posts like someone who very much does give a fuck. Although I can't recall too many of your posts that actually put your own views across. I have however noticed far more of your posts that aggressively insult others' opinions. I didn't defend it - read my post again carefully. I refuted it. It only took me a few words to refute because it was easy to refute. I'll tell you what - you post the worst of my posts then I'll post the worst of yours and we'll see who is the most abusive, vile and obnoxious.
  17. Not having that. You clearly consider yourself far more enlightened than any "stupid" Leave voter. Yet, it seems, you weren't sure yourself only a few months ago if you too were also "stupid". And, let's face it, racist, swivel-eyed, fascist, thick, cunt, etc... I respect the 'you' from a few months ago who, being unsure how he would vote, wanted to look into the arguments from both sides even though the core principles of both sides were bare and obvious. Maybe you meant 'look into' the finer detail I don't know because you SURELY couldn't have meant those core principles that even the most stupid of the stupid was aware of. Fast forward to you now and you are full of contempt. Do you hold any contempt for the 'you' of a few months ago who was contemplating voting for Leave?
  18. Congratulations on being less abusive. You obviously took those breaths - it DOES work!! You didn't simply believe that. You said "TBH, I couldn't give a fuck if the UK left the EU". That is an aggressive indifference to the issue. You're still aggressive but definitely not indifferent. Again I ask, why not? What's changed?
  19. For reasons of commercial sensitivity, sometimes a lack of transparency is necessary. That is a principle throughout the whole world of business. Your "stupid" comment just makes me roll my eyes at you. Yet again. To be fair to you, you've got lots of company. In fact, one of your earliest posts was that you intended to "look a lot more deeply into both arguments" before voting. Unless prior to making that post you were COMPLETELY ignorant of the issues, this means at one point you weren't sure if you yourself was going to be "stupid" or xenephobic or racist or fascist or swivel-eyed and all the other insults thrown at Leave voters. It means you at least considered the idea of taking control of immigration. Racist. Good to kind of have you on board mate, even if you were only thinking about it for a while. And I'm looking at you as well, Jairzinho. You were in favour of Leave if only we didn't have an "awful government". You thought the MAIN argument to stay was because we had a tory government. Doesn't feel that way now from your current posts. I'm trying to resist using the word 'hypocritical'.
  20. Check some of the many hundreds of posts in this thread, count how many times those words are thrown around and you'll see I was proved right. So, why do you now give a fuck when previously you didn't? Please take a deep breath or two before posting - it'll help you compose yourself.
  21. You need to look at many of your own posts about what you would do to and wish for other people. You then need to look up the definition of the word 'irony'. While you're there, look up the words 'bogey' and 'snot' so you can finally realise what that stuff is encrusted over your fingertips.
  22. Women's reproduction rights? Remind me what that one was please young man.
  23. I take your point about the conclusion to a point (if you know what I mean..?!) Beyond that point I would say that the 'deal', 'arrangement', 'assurances' - whatever someone wanted to call it - would have to be massively impactive on the public purse or on government policy for the good side of the announcement to be outweighed by the bad or to even come close to outweighing it. By that I mean on the one hand we have thousands of jobs secured with new ones being created plus new ones for support and supply industries plus millions of pounds worth of new exports in addition to the many many millions of pounds worth of current Nissan exports. On the other hand and taking a possible 'bad' scenario, the government has promised millions of pounds to Nissan - delivered by lawful means one would surely assume - to stay in the UK and those millions were not recouped from UK tariffs (can't think why not but just for the sake of argument) so were simply a cost to the taxpayer. Even if the above were true, why would it be bad? Pretty much everyone on here slates the Tories from the 80s for not supporting industries that later went to the wall. Well, here we have a Tory government taking action to stop an industry from leaving the UK. No matter how much someone hates the Tories, surely that person should be pleased to see government acting to protect and secure British industry and British jobs? I don't get why those who criticise the lack of government action 3 decades ago criticise this government action just because they're not privvy to the fine detail - IF there is any.
