Full question below. I've been meaning to ask this for a while, since a bit of a debate with another poster the other week. Would you take new owners with a track record of carefully increasing value in businesses they invest in to buy the club, if it meant them giving Rafa another chance? A chance to restore the squad to what it was and rebuild confidence? Or would you rather Rafa leave first and foremost? Sorry if its been asked in poll form before, but I can't remember one to this effect. And I know it's a rather crude question but I'm only really posting it for peace of mind, I think, it's a question that keeps popping up in various guises but never really gets answered by many.

I have to diasgree. In theory there's no reason why we should ever have to lose "The Liverpool Way", and yet just by not winning (for whatever multitude of reasons over the last 118 years and hopefully another 118 years into the future) you're saying we automatically lose a huge chunk of The Liverpool Way? I'd like to think that however little we're winning we'd still be doing things The Liverpool Way, that meaning how we play our football and how we, those inside the club and us supporters, conduct ourselves. This way, being able to identify with the club, it's creed and culture, is not dependant on success.

Hicks and Gillett Officially Put LFC Up For Sale
Moo replied to Paisley Red's topic in FF - Football Forum
I just feel embarrassed for those talking about Rafa's position or money spent in this of all threads. Says it all really. -
For God's sake I've heard it all now. Benitez was lying when he guaranteed 4th place?!! Hang on hang on, did he know back then that he was going to deliberately sabotage 4th place and therefore actually knowingly lied when he then guaranteed 4th place? Of course, I'm so naive.

Despite being supportive of the manager I'd jump at this if it meant Benitez had to go. But it's not hard to form the opinion that some people would turn it down if it meant Benitez staying.

Of course I can understand that and I understand people feeling how you do. But it's hard not to think there are people who feel more strongly about Benitez than the owners when you look at the criticism and vitriol they each get from some people. I also worry, that by aiming all their arrows at the manager, the message and feeling against the owners is diluted. I think it's far from a case of Rafa getting an easy ride because of our owner situation, as some have suggested, it's actually the owners getting an easy ride cos of Rafa. Why has the Mancs anti-Glazer campaign taken off this last year? Surely it's because they have been doing fine on the pitch so they are all united in the same cause?

Not at all, I can't remember exactly what or how often I was posting then but would be surprised if I got too carried away by on the pitch stuff. One thing I can remember saying is that even if we win the league (oh for those days again) it would be tainted by the spectre of The Twats.

If that's how you see it fine, but I think you're being incredibly harsh in this instance.

Collymore cost a British record transfer fee didn't he? And Scales, (or was it Babb?), broke the British record for a defender. Neither Houllier nor Benitez have been able to do that.

I think there's many people on these boards, despite their reluctance to admit it, who choose not to see the wood for the trees because they actually believe what's happening on the pitch right now is more important than what's going on off it.

I agree, but "let him off"? Come on, we're not talking Moores and Parry levels of really really bad things to say here, or Hicks and Gillette outright lies. Have you never said something you later regretted?

Even if people did believe it, so what? He has a contract and is entitled. You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think any manager would do any different.

Currently Zidane. But Messi has it in him to be better. So I'm not voting.

Nah, several times this has been suggested. Ridiculous line of thinking but quite typical in some cases.
