  1. It's not dishonest, it's lacking context. Context I did not provide because I was working on the assumption we all know what happened that season and I had no interest in going over old arguments. Context does not change the fact our support was shit at that time and in no way helped the team and possibly hindered it.
  2. We weren't really discussing the manager that's why I never mentioned him. He probably did make a mistake, in my opinion he did, but nothing is certain. What I do know is "our support was fucking shit" around that time, and who knows what it did for the players morale.
  3. So the other draws and losses didn't damage our chances? Some people moaned and groaned because they shit their pants and thought "oh no another false dawn, let's collectively cry about it" (I guess that's what your alluding to), some were just downright spoilt twats. Either way it was by no definition 'support', and who knows what might have happened if the so-called 12th man would have been more evident at times that season. Perhaps we'd have even beat Fulham if we'd have put personal preference aside in order to support the apprentice?
  4. Even if that was true, and it blatantly isn't as the match in question took place in December, some fucking "support" that is. They were acting like entitled spoilt cunts.
  5. Is this happening or are you agreeing with the sentiment? Can anyone in town confirm?
  6. They should fly the flags half mast in Liverpool today. So many have done so much to keep the fight going, but in this week of all weeks especially, Anne Williams should receive every honour possible.
  7. RIP Anne, you did your son proud. I know she didn't get to see the Justice served that she and all the victims so deserve, but I hope she took much comfort in the Truth getting out.
  8. I don't rate Moyes particularly but Evertonians need only look across the park to see "be careful what you wish for" in action. I know Moyes has spent plenty, more than ousiders seem to think anyway, but without investment what's the best they can hope for? Average league positions with the odd foray into Europe, and perhaps some decent cup runs is about their level, a level which he does have them performing to. Edited to clarify I am not having a go at Rodgers, I'm just referring to our fall from grace since the departure of a certain manager from LFC who many thought was doing such a poor job that just about anyone could do it better.
  9. I disagree with this. Rooney hasn't been at the races for some time and is particularly (relatively speaking) bad this season, he can barely pass the ball. He wouldn't have performed better than Welbeck last night.
  10. Absolutely. The problem is there's not enough suitable housing for people to move into immediately so they will still be penalised for circumstances beyond their control. As others have also said, many people have lived in their houses for many years believing they had a secure home, so they have invested money into keeping it in a good state, decorating it to their own tastes, making the garden nice - should they also lose out by having to move somewhere not of the same standard they have brought it up to?
  11. I watched it last night with a Manc and when I made the point of how shocked they all are because they are not used to bad decisions, the retort was "That's rubbish, look what happened against Porto when Paul Scholes had a perfectly good goal disallowed and we went out because of it". That incident, the first one to mind, was 9 fucking years ago!!
  12. The Mancs reaction to this pretty much proves how alien it is to them to have a 50/50 decision go against them, they are so shocked that a shitty decision happened to them, and in a big match as well. Says so much about the kind of treatment they are used to, it really does.
  13. Unfortunately Luis fell for it again. He should have made a point of grabbing the fuckers hand then told everyone about it afterwards.
  14. I like the glint in his eye in that top photo, clearly knowing what was to come and looking forward to having a laugh with it all while raking it in. Thanks for posting.
  15. Bloody hell where have you been? 2010 just called and wants it's opinion back.
  16. Two of the best LFC pictures ever, his face after that goal and at the final whistle of the cup final.
  17. To praise Rafa Benitez and perhaps wind a few people up in the process. So for someone not only to rise to it, but write fully thought out and lengthy replies seems a bit well, odd I suppose.
  18. Given the OP intentions when starting this thread I am honestly not sure if the above is written tongue in cheek or if it's serious? If the latter it honestly reads as a slightly unhealthy obsession desite it being a few years since the man left the club.
  19. This word alone is corporate bellendary at work, I hate it. How hard is it to put together a full sentence?
  20. This is more a response to some of the replies in this thread rather than the strange poll question. But I'd rather win 1 league championship than 10 league cups and probably 1 European cup to 5 Uefa's. You've got to be in it to win it and if we dont finish top 4 we're not even in the CL, and have a cat in Hells chance of a shot at 1st.
  21. It might depend on how you're currently meeting your coffee needs. Up until Christmas I was spending at least £15 a week on coffee shop coffee (usually Costa). But then I got a Nespresso for Christmas and it's very decent. The pods are relatively expensive (about 30p each) however in my case it's saving me at least a tenner a week. It's not as good as the likes of Costa, but it's serving me well on my morning coffee hit and I still treat myself to shop bought once or twice a week.
  22. The more I see the replay the less it looks intentional. And well in the Mansfield manager not rising to the bait.
