  1. I work in the public sector, so those who do will realise it's been going downhill for years. Since the whole Agency/value for money bolloxs was brought in. Year on year it's efficiency savings (ie cut jobs) and the "More for Less" mantra from managers. Job terms and conditions seem to be going backward. Work life balance? Definitely getting worse, just be lucky you have a job eh? Wages? Pay freeze for years plus pension contributions doubled and due to go higher effectively means a pay cut. I though I had 15 years to go to retirement (60). Oh no, no, no, you'll have to work until at least 67/68. To be honest, I'm at an age now were I'm only in it to collect the pension (whatever that will be by the time I retire!). It's a sort of trap, I've done so far that I may as well see it out rather than starting from scratch somewhere else. Ha! Sound like a right moaning bastard! I'm definitely in the work to live camp!
  2. Not wanting to compare Ferguson to an "alleged" child abuser, but perhaps some truth might come about once he has passed away. Despite Major Tom's posturing that why has nothing been done about this if it's so obvious, we have seen recently that it can sometimes take a long time for the truth to be exposed, and people to come forward.
  3. I agree with this and have thought so for years. The man has been around the English game for over 25 years! That's a quarter of a century. No person can be around so long in any walk of life without building up influence and network. I would wager that he has been around before anyone currently in the FA and PL. Thankfully, I believe that he is the last of his kind in the game and that noone else will be able to stay in a position enough to repeat it.
  4. Hahaha. Heard them chanting "you're not singing any more". Love the way the Euro crowd bring a f******l type atmosphere to golf. The yanks just don't seem to know how to take it. All they can do is that turgid USA USA USA! Absolutely brilliant, history creating acheivement. Was critical of the guys yesterday but they came back big style!
  5. Is there a more awful, cringeworthy chant in sport than USA! USA! USA! Utterly depressing watching this. Think the European team have believed their own hype and have simply not performed when it matters.
  6. Great result today! Any reason, other than purely blatant commercial reasons, why we didn't wear red today?
  7. Yeah fair point. Just seemed a lot compared to some of the fines usually handed out. Still a fair wedge to hand over cash like. Hope they insist on it in one go and not instalments. Didn't Cashley Cole try and plead poverty/time to pay once for a driving offence?
  8. In my heart of hearts, I didn't really expect more than 4 games tbh. As has been said, the extra 4 games for Luis were for the alleged perceived multiple utterances. £220k fine not to be sniffed at though, assuming he actually pays for it himself and not Chelsea. What's the FA strike rate now then, 98.8%!
  9. Ah,Ok, fair enough. I thought it was a lot more you were talking about. "Full and final settlement" is wank though legally. You would just need to formally reject this and threaten legal action. The fact that you may have gone to the trouble of filing a claim and getting it listed would normally be enough for them to admit liability and roll over in my experience.
  10. Sue them in the small claims court. Will only cost you about £50, depending on the size of your claim, you'll get this fee back as well. A bit of paperwork to do, but to me sounds like you have a watertight case. They are in breach of contract and you've been seriously inconvenienced.
  11. Jesus Wept. Valencia now reported to have left training yesterday with his right foot in a protective boot. The injury is thought to have been sustained in the penalty incident!
  12. No, you're not. I mentioned this in the match thread.
  13. So true. If he would just collapse to his knees or something like that he would more likely get the decision.
  14. The fucking hypocrisy and back-pedalling by some of the media over Suarez/Terry cases is disgusting. They were all for the result and procedure in Luis' case, but now it is deemed unfair and inadequate! Fucking sickening!
  15. I happened to hear this this morning (was on Keys & Gray) and nearly spat my coffee out! Capt Picard even used the words "Kangaroo Court"!
  16. I'll tell you what, I think there's something in that. We all know Scholes cannae tackle, the wee ginger scamp, but to lunge in 2 footed in the box was a bit reckless. He only actually plays the ball with the inside of his leg looks to me. He definitely prevented sterling at least getting a shot off with his left foot.
  17. Well, well, well. Good to hear, but why has it taken 6 1/2 years for this to come out?
  18. Just leaves the way open for his heroic return following a clearing by the "independent" panel. His ego knows no bounds really. He gets the headlines and sympathy for appearing to be hounded out of England, whilst if he is cleared(still not 100% convinced he won't get off) he can answer Woy's call to return, so looking the big hero. Cunt.
  19. Yes. Can't remember the exact details, but Bennett (one of the top officials at the time) hadn't reffed a game at OT for several seasons following some incident/comments from Ferguson. First game back was the one and only weekend of the "respect" campaign! Remember?
  20. OK, OK technically yes. That was a second tier built on the same footprint. The type of redevelopment I'm assuming they are talking about is MAJOR re-building, ie, knocking down existing structures. Hence reduced capacity. If, as Xerses says this is not FSG's intention and just a minor facelift/lick of paint, then there is no point.
  21. Courtesy of davelfc Valencia's gets worse everytime I see it. He goes to feign a shot but then tries to sidestep Pepe and falls over! Glen must have the strength of the Hulk to push Valencia over from that angle! I was thinking that at the time as well. He had let a lot of meaty challenges go earlier, and i was giving him credit for that.
  22. Makes sense. The Kop and Centenary stands were the most recent so it makes sense that the Main stand and Anfield Road end are most in need of development. At least Anfield would still have character and it's own identity and not be a modern soulless bowl. Only problem is reduced capacity while rebuilding for a few years. But as some have pointed out, talk and designs are cheap (not really actually!). Until the builders move in?
  23. I've never understood this. They've done the hard bit and actually bagged the poo. The bags don't even need to go into special dog poo bins, any litter bin would do.
  24. I would be very surprised if they start any controversial chants on Sunday. They're not that thick/arrogant surely? More likely for something in the return game in January, in the safety of their own stadium and where stewards are less likely to go against home supporters.
  25. I don't think we are the right "profile" , for want of a better word, for billionaire owners to pick up. Look at Chelsea, cheap to buy. Man City, cheap to buy and at a low ebb and with a super modern stadium already in the deal. We would cost any new owner too much and also have to fund a new stadium. I agree with Jairzinho, I cling onto the hope that the current football finance model (Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Anzi , that Chinese team et al) implodes as unsustainable.
