  1. Utd's ploys to manipulate games sink to new lows! Any truth to the rumour that a member of their backroom staff was spotted with a spanner near the floodlight controls? Braga were comfortable before the "floodlight failure".
  2. It's become the new "waving an imaginary card" and should be treated as such with a booking or at least a severe warning from the ref. If say, Luis is fouled and goes down easy or not, if the ref doesn't deem it a booking for diving then the defender should get booked for ungentlemanly conduct for claiming that he dived. Technically the same as the card waving gesture. Maybe then that would nip this in the bud.
  3. I can just imagine Ferguson holding his weekly cronies meeting in some shadowy locale. "Last item on the agenda, who's playing Liverpool this week? Don't forget to mention Suarez in your press conference, I'll tie up the loose ends with Riley"
  4. While I do agree somewhat that the official Sony controllers are on the pricey side, I've always found them streets ahead quality wise on 3rd party ones. Gets what you pay for really. Why are they allowed to still sell these if they are blocked?
  5. Ugh! Are we going to have to hear that tedious "champions of Europe, we know what we are" chant all season?
  6. Bit worrying. Not much impact off the bench there. Let's hope plan A wins the game.
  7. I just hope he isn't looking to make a name for himself by actually booking Suarez for simulation.
  8. Would be a whole lot easier to watch and endure if we had've been doing better and winning more games. Just like all fly on the wall documentaries, it's mildly interesting in that it gives a little peek behind the scenes but is in no way truly representative of what really goes on. People are aware of the cameras no matter what they say otherwise. We had one at my work a few years ago and when I watched it I and many of my colleagues were pissing ourselves at how it was edited and came across! It was like watching something completely different and on "TV", which of course it was!
  9. Mr Friend is 4th official to keep an eye on him from the cartel!
  10. To be fair, most board/committee members of football associations are connected somehow to a particular club. However, looking at the make up of the current FA board, Gill's position sticks out like a sore thumb as being slightly.........odd? When it gets to that level, people should not "double job" and hold such high profile jobs at the clubs that they originally came from and still serve on boards like this. Just paving the way for the post Ferguson era. Of course, one would have to assume that he is automatically barred from decision making on incidents involving MUFC. Doesn't stop lobbying and influencing behind closed doors and off the record though.
  11. Totally unwarranted and unjustified in my opinion. Have to say first off, i'm biased. I like Badgers. They are getting bad press here. If its not getting dug out of their sets by shaven headed, pit bull terrier neanderthals then its being targeted for a cull. Classic sledgehammer to crack a nut scenario here. They should be investing time and money in the root cause, ie , eradicating the TB in the first place. No idea how to do this in practice mind, well above my pay grade, but going out and shooting 100k animals! Don't believe those compensation figures either. If its anything like my experience of agricultural type compensation schemes, no doubt backed up from the EU somewhere, there will be little enough checking and verification. A bit of a scam probably.
  12. Hmmmm, bit of an anti-climax really. I appreciate all the dangers involved, but looks like he didn't get the MACH record or freefall time record, considering how much higher he started out from. Still riveting watching though.
  13. Yes, Dave probably writes much the same but then just gets edited down to the first line.
  14. One thing I noticed that nobody else seems to have commented on (apologies if I have missed it somewhere), was the possession % stats from the game. Now we've all become quite used to seeing LFC dominate the possession % stat this season and even last season. According to the BBC, the split was 52% to 48% in Stokes favour! I can only put this down to the timewasting effect at throw-ins, goal kicks etc.
  15. He's Ferguson's cheerleader no doubt. Those comments from the Chelsea game and again those on Sunday couldn't have been scripted better by Ferguson himself. And what is it with his Cap, glasses and tracky touchline persona? Is he trying to create some brand or character?
  16. This. We are at a low ebb at the moment. Best to turn the other cheek and bite lips until we are in a better position. We all know whats going on ,but whinging about the press/media (when we mostly don't give a fuck about do we?) and going to Mike Riley only perpetuates the problem. It's very difficult to swim against the populist media agenda, and they've got it in for us at the moment and have for the last year. If we could go a month without any of Luis' histrionics, they will have moved on to someone else.
  17. Just watched that and spot on! I also felt the "interview" was pre-planned so to speak. The interviewer mentioned the 6 Stoke bookings which was a lead in to Pulis just casually mentioning how he was disappointed no LFC players were booked. Cue a suspicious pause and the interviewer says "care to elaborate?" which send Pulis off on his Ferguson copyrighted ( I bet all his cronies have an aid memoire document circulated) rant about diving.
  18. Quite a subtle cunthouse performance from Mason there. So obvious he was not going to send a Stoke player off by spreading out the yellows.
  19. The first one he is definitely caught on the foot by the defender who is studs up. With modern thin boots this would hurt a lot. The other 2, bit harder to say, but both were outside the box and he had the clear beating of the defenders and plenty of space. Why go down for nothing?
  20. Spot on. As long as you don't make reference to ethnicity, colour etc you can be as abusive as you like. Both "judgements" went to great lengths to say that both Suarez and Terry were not racists but used racially abusive language.
  21. Incredibly frustrating how many goals we are conceding to chances ratio for the opposition. Doesn't matter so much when we put ours away like at Norwich, but we were back to the usual last night. Is it just bad luck or just rank finishing? Still a long way to go in the group though, and this is all learning for the manager and a lot of the players. Really need to take the majority of points from the Anzhi games though.
