  1. I liked the second one too and am looking forward to this. I only hope they solve the respawning enemies they had in Far Cry 2. That really ruined it a bit for me. I was going round all sneaky and commando-like, clearing checkpoints only to have them respawned within minutes!
  2. Hmmmm. I've never used this facility before, probably because I don't have a lot other than game data and saves on my drive. What sort of issues Stouffer? Dare I say it did you back up before rebuilding the database? Does server sync work for trophies issues?
  3. Good post, but the bit I've put in bold above is I believe the crux of the difference in the 2 cases. The admittance of Luis and the , in hindsight, naivety of KD and DC in going to the ref and making statements gave the FA an "in" and an opportunity to look tough on racism and make an example. Really, they should have said nothing and let the FA do all the running, like any prosecution, to prove a charge. Luis and LFC basically implicated themselves. As I say, easy for the FA.
  4. Yes but Luis admitted saying something which with hindsight made it easy for the FA to find him guilty. Clattenburg denied saying anything (rightly so). Lesson to be learned, keep schtum and lawyer up before being interviewed. The rest of football will have learned from this and as usual LFC are the guinea pigs just like the "respect" campaign.
  5. Yes, the hypocricy in the FA "investigation process" is staggering. A lesson learned from the last year, and substantiated by what Kenny said the other week, is to say nothing when questioned/interviewed. Without wanting to open up Luis' case again, the FA were given an open goal when he admitted saying something. Now apparently, refs are going to be recorded so this sort of incident can't happen again. Hopefully, these recordings will be "leaked"! Oh and cue the FA using said recordings to charge players.
  6. Awful article. And he gets paid/awards for this shit? Character assassination in all but name. The very fact that he's bringing this up is because Luis is playing well, keeping a relative lower profile in his "dark arts" and is taking the advice so piously given out by the media in that he is moving on. Pity Bluto can't. Agenda?
  7. Ah right, thanks. Technically correct but not in the spirit certainly.
  8. Depends whether you say Pareee or Parissss. Or Nougaaar or Nugget? Regarding that Adriano goal, difficult to say without knowing what was just before. Was it a free kick, drop ball or was possession expected to be returned to the defending team? Ref obviously happy.

Ah, I'm watching on Sky, so a few episodes behind. Won't be clicking on those spoilers!!!! Agree about John Noble though. Never seen him in anything before this and initially thought he was a cheap Vincent Price impersonator! He has won me over though.
  10. Looking to get the mrs some new earphones or headphones for her ipad. She currently uses in ear buds and was looking at getting the Apple ear pods, but they're around the £25 mark. Any users out there have these ear pods? Are they worth the money or can anyone suggest a decent set of headphones that would be suitable? Thanks.
  11. Looks stunning if that's actual gameplay footage! Was in Tesco yesterday and they had a display for pre-orders. Got quite excited, thinking they had brought the release date forward for Christmas or something. Excitement tempered, when on closer inspection revealed release date as Spring 2013! WTF!

What episode number have you watched up to Red Phoenix?
  13. I take the point about the North Sea Oil years. I guess nobody really appreciated it then and the good years were wasted and now the UK is being held to ransom, so to speak, by the Russians and it's only going to get worse. That's why this country should have been more far seeing and investing in Nuclear power all these years. In my view it really is the only viable long term solution. They should also be pushing solar panels on houses as well.
  14. I don't envy you guys on the mainland. I'm on oil for heating and water (gas not an option due to locality) and only have a choice of 2/3 suppliers for electricity, so it's pretty easy for me to compare. But you lot with a multitude of suppliers and their hundreds of tariffs! Which? magazine recently did an article into prices and they had professional accountants who found it difficult to work out the cheapest. The advice given here earlier is sound. Don't be swayed by the headline unit price. You need to know what your usage has been over the last few years to get a reliable average. If you have your usage figures then there are tools on the web to find you a good deal. This links in to the enrgy price fix thread. It really is a stitch-up/cartel. If it really was a free market, each supplier would have 2 or 3 different rates at most. I'm hoping that this racket will be the new banks misselling scandal.
  15. To be fair, in this day and age of on demand viewing, it's a bit old fashioned of the directors to keep a "big draw for viewers" (which we still are) to the end to keep the ratings up.
  16. Why do you have to kill it? If you can't handle the ups and downs of dog ownership then give it to a local shelter.
  17. Yes, but what has Peter Herbert got to say about this? edit: The thread title got me all excited. Had images of sexy models in Santa outfits! Ah well.
  18. Bit of a bogey team for us Wigan. Even when we were last in our pomp a few years ago, always seem to have struggled against them. I'll go 2-1.
  19. What's wrong with the Main Stand? I'm just glad to get tickets for anywhere in the ground.
  20. I'll freely admit I've only read the headlines on this, but its about time something was done about this. I know that companies are entitled to make profits, but at what stage does it look greedy and profiteering? When it comes to utility companies questions should be asked. They should look at the water companies too and the seemingly excessive profits they post every year for a resource that is essential for life. The banking sector got away with dodgy practices for years from endowments to pensions to PPI and they are being held to account now so hopefully the time will come when the energy sector gets the same treatment. I have no problem with making profits, its what they are in business to do, but the figures being published are silly. If there was that much money to be made genuinely then the government should nationalise them all again and make profit for themselves and the country.

Yeah, stick with it. The Early "monster of the week" stories were like a poor mans X-Files but when the story arc begins to develop it really improves. I take it you guys are watching US pace? I'm only watching it on Sky and the way the yanks do breaks in the run of episodes I think the Sky ones will eventually catch up as they can show them in one run.
  22. Pretty downbeat but honest report there Dave. Regarding the Suarez celebration, after looking at it again I think he initially thought that the goal may have been ruled out hence the poor little face?
  23. Don't think the pitch helped our lads tonight. Awful surface, always seemed to take two touches to get the ball under control and didn't suit the quick passing game the lads are obviously trying to play. On the TV it looked a big pitch too. Young Boys have given us a big favour by beating Udinese.
