  1. you wouldn't be getting that from Paul, he's in the same place we are, he might actually be in an even darker place given what he was tweeting.
  2. Pinnington was probably our best player for me. Danns was quality in everything he did though. Nice to see Gordon coming back to some form after his lay off.
  3. Don't think I've done anything different on the editing. Anyone else notice this?
  4. That guy looked like my dad only without the glasses. He must be 75 if he's a day.
  5. We did a job on ourselves. We knew exactly what they'd do so it's up to the players to deal with it. There were no surprises, Klopp spoke afterwards about that and what we should have done to exploit it. It can't be that hard as plenty of other teams have done well against them, hence why they're 6th in their league. They played well, credit to them for that, but that result was all about us stinking it up, not because we came up against some super team. And I think their keeper made one relatively difficult save (from Mo). I don't remember any others. Kweev probably made more saves than him. Lots of teams have made it difficult for us but usually we step it up and find a way to turn it around and win. This time we got worse and worse and were lucky to only lose by three.
  6. Under normal circumstances I'd have leapt in to belittle him for that belter but I couldn't be arsed. I also had something I had been planning to mock Stu Monty with too concerning something he said on the last pod, but it didn't feel like the right time to do that either. Fucking dickheads killing my piss taking mojo.
  7. Yeah agree with every word of that mate. The MOTD pundits either need to do some research themselves, or the BBC should pay someone to do it for them, because al they had to do was bring up every similar instance in the last couple of years to see that they always disallow these, even when they're nowhere near as blatant as this one. The only exception was City of course, but even then it was admitted afterwards that it was a mistake and it should have been disallowed. The shock and incredulity from Lineker, Dublin and Wright is ridiculous. Do some fucking homework lads and you'll realise the ref and VAR had no choice.
  8. I agree with most of this, but he's not blameless as if he cuts it back to Szoboszlai it's a tap in. It was a bad decision from him, as well as a bad one from Diaz. Typifies everything we've done against United in three games. Either continually taking the wrong option and fucking up great situations, or on the rare occasion we got it right and created a chance we then fucked up with the finishing. Just like the team, Nunez looked like he was coming right into form for the run in only to then inexplicably take a big step backwards just when it matters most. Mac Allister is the only creative / attacking player to step up and deliver over the past month and even he was piss poor last night.
  9. The money that increase will bring in is roughly what we pay Thiago every 10 weeks. He's leaving, how about reducing tickets by 2% instead? Just because everyone else puts prices up doesn't mean we have to. Maybe be the ones to actually start to show appreciation to the fans? Who knows, maybe it'll catch on.
  10. I'd forgotten all about the TV show. That's going to be great viewing. For Evertonians and Mancs.
  11. If these players allow Klopp to go out like this, with a fucking whimper, then I'm all in on whoever comes in next to just doing whatever he likes and getting rid of whoever wants as I wont care. Don't even want to look at them right now. Something changed after that cup defeat at United, we lost all momentum but they better get it back quick.
  12. I don't think it's that. We don't look tired, not physically anyway. Mentally you could argue that as the decision making has been terrible.
  13. He was on the bench though, was he not? He played 90 minutes on Thursday night, no way was he starting on Sunday as we rarely do that with him, and especially not when he's only just back from injury.
  14. I don't care about any of that because it's not relevant to what happened at all. Usually the gulf in class (in either direction) is negated by the lesser team playing above themselves and the better team having an off day. That explains most of the unexpected results, and our record in the PL era is bad because United have been better than us for around 75% of that time. United are the vastly inferior side now and they showed it all three games this season, where they were begging to be put away. We did everything we were supposed to do in terms of dominating, but we were sloppy as fuck in the final third and three times we failed to beat them. Justifying it by saying "oh well, we never win there" is letting the players off the hook. It has nothing to do with some voodoo shite about Old Trafford, especially as we didn't beat them at Anfield either. The way we played in the last two games especially is not what we've done too often in the 129 years you mentioned. When you come up against a team that plays as badly as United did and who made the game so easy for us, there's no excuse for not beating them. It's utter negligence and Klopp must be fucking livid, even if he'll never say so.
  15. Fun is definitely not the word that comes to my mind when I think about what comes next. Even if we somehow won it, it's going to be torture rather than fun!
  16. That Plettenberg is a complete fraud. That may or may not be true but he hasn't 'been told' shit. Total bluffer.
  17. Didn't watch it but yeah it isn't a point gained, but he's trying to maintain morale I guess. He knows even more then we do about just how shit United are/were so he doesn't really see it as a point gained. Yeah I get that, what I was trying to say is that the decision to play him against Sheffield United was the odd one, because as soon as he did that it meant he wasn't playing on Sunday, regardless of the awful tackle on him. Sunday's line up was as expected because based on the decision for Sheff Utd, he was left with no choice but playing Quansah or Gomez. And in fairness Quansah was our best player there three weeks ago. There are so many bigger factors in why we didn't win, but yeah if I'd have been picking the team it would have been Quansah on Thursday and Konate Sunday.
  18. I actually felt even angrier after writing the report and reliving it again.
  19. There's definitely some merit to that, if you keep two of them hanging back behind the play in support there are a lot of benefit to that. Narrows down the choices for the player with the ball and gives you back up if it needs to be cut back or there's a rebound etc Too many cooks.
  20. It was. Didn't want to do it, not looking forward to writing the report. Might just copy and paste the FA Cup one.
  21. On the plus side, maybe the new fella will be able to beat this dogshit Man United team?
  22. This time next year we'd be convincing ourselves he was coming and then he'd fuck off to Real Madrid.
  23. Also, I've seen a different angle of the second Chelsea pen and I've changed my mind. Soft as fuck, slightly more of a pen than the first one but there's virtually no contact. In the refs defence it looks like contact from where he is, plus you just assume the player who has a free run on goal isn't going to dive, but it turns out he did. Tell you what though, after those two pens given against them in midweek, Anthony Taylor is not giving us one even if Maguire takes a baseball bat to one of our lads.
  24. This thread has completely died a death now, all it's going to be from now on is Frode talking about them being unbeaten and posting graphics to back up his findings.
