Yeah, a bit like the guy I mentioned above. He sat for 20 years. Has to go to prison now at the age of 76…

Good job on the authorities that actually put their resources towards punishing those thinking “they’d have any chance of ever getting away with it”. Interested to know, do you not think City are cooking their books either? If that’s not deliberately rigging the competition I don’t know what is.

Is it really THAT far fetched that someone is being influenced by the enormous sums of money (and prestige) that is floating around? I’ll take the crank description if it is the opposite view of yours as a badge of honour, thanks!

    To clarify:

    1) I do think City cooking their books. So do the Premier League.

    2) I'm not interested in going back and forth on the minutiae of the conspiracy theories about referring in the UK, but accept there is bias deployed at various times for various reasons. Conflicts of interest are obviously present. Stop the UAE trips, get refs off games of teams from rival cities. It's a Howard Webb problem. That needs sorting out and can easily be done. A grand conspiracy to deny Liverpool a title isn't a thing.

    3) I only came into this thread to push back against that crap spouted towards Jules and the Covid vaccine style "I do my own research. Wake up, sheeple" which is how you sound.

Have at it with whatever you wanna respond to that, if at all. I'm done.

So you don’t think there’s any chance of bias and or corruption in sports?

I’d say that it’s you and Jules that are out of touch on this one. I find it incredibly naive and just flat out galling that it’s just being laughed off as something totally unthinkable.

I don't think there's no chance of corruption, I just refuse to believe they reckon they'd have any chance of ever getting away with it.

Unconscious bias is one thing; deliberately rigging games because of the current "they hate us" rationale from every set of fans and "they're getting openly paid off by city" is another.

It makes people look like cranks.

So Amorim wants what, 350k per week?

No-one knows, especially those bullshit artists on Twitter. Who knows whether Liverpool have even talked money with him? Who knows whether they've even made a play for him?

Took a club on its arse to the title in no time in a one horse league and got them deep into Europe leaving them set up for a final when he left and that was his first job in management.

Swear to god some our fans would put fucking Hodgson back in before even considering him for it.

Was driven out of villa by a gormless fan base helped by a rabid media when others like Arteta had similar runs of bad form with far better teams but got the time to correct them. Emery stunk the place out at arsenal and everyone despised him yet there’s callings for him to come here.

*awkwardly whistles while refusing to make eye contact*

  5. If that little Italian runt becomes our manager, I'm done. Fuck that.

To quote Gunnery Sgt Hartman, it looks like the best part of him ran down the crack of his momma's ass and ended up as the brown stain on the mattress.

Excuse me while I wipe a tear from my eye having listened to the last bit of this episode in which the lads reflected on Klopp's European era. Beautiful sentiments from Chris and the perfect summation from Dave - It's been the most fun he, and many of us, have had watching Liverpool, ever. Shame John B had to ruin it all by banging on about the Nazis ;)

In all seriousness, I was fortunate enough to be at most of the big European games under Klopp, home and away, and it's almost impossible to describe how special they were - Dortmund, City, Roma, Barcelona, Spurs in Madrid and even Kyiv; occasions that will live with me forever and which we should all be grateful for. Fans of practically every other club would kill for just one of those nights; we had loads, and the glorious memories will last long after the increasing pain of this season has passed.

If, like the lads, I had to pick my favourite European goal under Klopp, it would probably be Divock's in Madrid. I was right behind the goal where he smashed the ball past Hugo Lloris and will never forget the feeling of knowing that we had definitely won a sixth European Cup. That I was surrounded by mates and celebrated with each and every one of them only added to the magic. The following morning it was back home via Alicante and I'm pretty sure I didn't stop smiling for the entire journey - and for the rest of that summer.

Thank you Jurgen. It's been one hell of a ride. X

    Beautiful post, mate.

  7.

Klopp is detaching emotionally and it's having a grave effect on what we're seeing on the field.

    I don't necessarily think it's a conscious thing.

We can all do it, you detach emotionally to protect and prepare yourself to cope.

    I think that's what's happening here.

We rely completely on being all-in... 100% focused, 100% engines running.

    It's not there.

You look like a cunt bumping look at me posts 2 minutes after that. Like the kind of cunts that haven't been seen in 4 months will reappear complaining we didn't buy Mbappe in January.

if you weren’t so smug the other night telling people how they should feel it wouldn’t have been on my mind, so it takes one to know one I suppose.

I get Chris's view, really. If it weren't for Klopp leaving we'd probably be looking at this season as being a positive one in terms of a rebuild. Lots of young talent coming through, done well across multiple comps etc. It's only the announcement that turned the expectations to "you have to win things now".

Don't get Chris' Trent comment though, we have been consistently conceding the kind of goals that were routinely blamed on him and he's not even been on the field. Bit harsh to throw shade at him now.

It was harsh to throw shade at him. Silly even. I was I pissed off and lashing out.

That pod needed a Paul or Stu to inject some reality back into it, had to switch it off half way through it was so gloomy. Proper throw the toys out of the pram stuff. That performance had nothing to do with Klopp leaving, what it was a team that was completely flummoxed by a style of play, we simply never got to grips with it. Instead of being composed and figuring it out, we panicked. As shite as we where we could have easily scored 4 goals, Darwin has to score, Mo has to keep himself onside and then we have Harvey's effort and Mo, Darwin and Diogo's other chances. We can score 4 or 5 out there easily.

presume you’ll be walking this back now?

if you watched that and think the malaise is unrelated to Klopp’s departure then you’re kidding yourself.
