Lewis Hamilton - where do you stand ?

For me Formula 1 isn't a sport. The end.
  2. May I suggest we collect every single piece of outrageous scaremongering from the Daily Mail and post it here. Let me start with this beaut. Girl, 13, hangs herself after becoming obsessed with Emo 'suicide cult' rock band | the Daily Mail A girl of 13 killed herself after becoming obsessed with a fashion which links death with glamour, an inquest heard. Hannah Bond hanged herself from her bunk bed with a tie after becoming an "Emo". Emo fans wear dark clothes, practise self-harm and listen to "suicide cult" rock bands. Scroll down for more... 'Everything to live for': school student Hannah Bond hanged herself not long after showing her father the cuts on her wrists as part of her 'emo initiation' Two weeks before her death, she started following U.S. band My Chemical Romance. One of their songs contains the lyrics: "Although you're dead and gone, believe me your memory will go on." Hannah, described as a model pupil, had started cutting her wrists but told her father it was part of an initiation into the Emo fashion. Heartbroken: Ray and Heather Bond told the court their daughter had told them emo was 'just a fashion' Coroner Roger Sykes said yesterday that Hannah's death was "not glamorous, just simply a tragic loss of a young life". Hannah's mother Heather told the inquest she had researched the trend since her daughter's death. "There are websites that show pink teddies hanging themselves," she said. "She called Emo a fashion and I thought it was normal." She added: "Hannah was a normal girl. She had loads of friends. She could be a bit moody but I thought it was just because she was a teenager." Hannah's father Ray, a karate teacher, said: "Two weeks before, I saw the cuts. I asked her about them and she said it was an Emo initiation. "She promised me she would never do it again." Hannah gave her name as Living Disaster on her page on social networking website Bebo. The page is decorated with a picture of an Emo girl with bloody wrists after slashing herself. Another picture shows a child's exercise book scrawled with the words: "Dear Diary, today I give up. . ." The inquest in Maidstone, Kent, heard Hannah had been with her boyfriend at a friend's house on the evening of September 22 last year. She had been angry when she was told she was not allowed to sleep over and when she got home in East Peckham she went straight to her room, saying: "I want to kill myself." The inquest was told Hannah had not used drugs or alcohol before her death but Vanessa Everett, her head teacher at Mascalls School, said self-harm had become commonplace among other Emo fans. Recording a verdict of suicide, Mr Sykes said: "The Emo overtones concerning death and associating it with glamour I find very disturbing." •The Emo phenomenon began in the U.S. in the 1980s. It is a largely teenage trend and is characterised by depression, self-injury and suicide. Followers wear tight jeans with studded belts and wristbands. Their hair is dyed black and worn in long fringes to obscure their faces. Emo - from the word emotional - is a reference to the angst-filled lyrics and melancholy themes of the rock music central to the culture. One of the foremost of these "suicide cult" bands is My Chemical Romance, from New Jersey. Their first single, Welcome to the Black Parade, from the album The Black Parade, was released in 2006 and became a huge hit, going to number one in Britain. The concept album follows the story of a character called The Patient, who dies of cancer. The Black Parade is a nickname for the place where Emo fans believe they will go when they die.

Lisa Stansfield? Are you just naming women that you know sang a song at some point?

Haha, this reminded me of this classic:

    Dua Lipa

I used to work at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and every time I see her name, I can't help but feel upset about how she's fucked up their Google Search rankings.

    Miley Cyrus

I think she's brilliant. 100% her own person. Does what she wants, records what she wants, fucks who she wants – men, women and anything in between. And she's got a fantastic voice too. Not sure if this has been posted, but it's a lovely little summer track. EDIT: Should probably add that I find her attractive too.

This was amusing: "If the stars align and we get promoted, would there be an option to buy him? If Brewster ended up at Sheff United, I see not why it should be impossible..." Ah, the endless delusional optimism of footy fans.

    Wrestling thread

AEW is fantastic, but your criticisms are valid. Personally, I'll always tune into whatever Jericho does because I just get a massive kick out him and always have. He's hilarious, fantastically quick witted and everything he does means something. But Moxley? You're bang on about him. He played it up like his creative genius was being stifled in WWE and in AEW he'd have all the freedom he needed to express himself. What I see is practically the same character, using the exactly same moves who throws a few swears into his promos every once in a while. Meh. As for Cody, I'm a huge fan of his. I love the statesman role he plays in AEW. That face of the company babyface that it always felt like really good WCW always had, whether it was his arl fella, Flair or Sting. To me he's really proven that he was overlooked in WWE. And without him there wouldn't be an AEW anyway. But I'm so with you on Omega. I'm massively disappointed with how he's been used so far. I'm not sure whether he's eased off a bit, but he definitely hasn't had the opportunities to have matches on the level of the ones he had with Okada in New Japan, despite having capable opponents. He's been stuck in the tag division with Hangman Page, who also rules, but that's come to an end now. I think those WWE guys should just be the supporting cast, using the name value to bring in casual fans and channel hoppers, but mainly used for getting the new breed of guys over; like Omega, the Bucks, Page, Orange Cassidy, MJF, etc. Anyway, bottom line is its a really enjoyable pro wrestling show that I look forward to and enjoy every week without fail. It's got good announcing (any time I hear Schiavone it takes me right back), great tag team action without fail, logical story telling and reverence for good wrestling and wrestling history. I haven't been able to say the same about WWE in 15 years.
  12. Travis? Fuck me. Can we not with this homogenised 2000s indie shite? These tournaments need agreed upon listings with seedings and brackets.

    Kasabian.

Who's that when he's at home?
  14. Chris

    Kasabian.

Seriously, who the fuck listens to this horrendous, bland, vanilla-ass, post-Oasis, lad-bantz, boys-on-tour, basic, no-actual-discernable-taste, spoon-fed-what-commercial-radio-plays, Carling-swilling, headlining V-festival garbage anyway? The absolute fucking worse. Even the name pisses me off. Kasabian. Fuck off.

How is it becoming so prevalent and powerful though? It's genuinely, genuinely bat shit mental.

    Jodie Comer

Imagine a fan of a TV show thinking they have the right to tell someone who and who they can't date based on the character they played. What, does there have to be some kind of committee who the actress has to run potential matches by to ensure they fit the criteria? Fuck this shit, man. Yet they're the same people who'll scream "love is love" at the top of their voices while claiming to advocate for a society where people can openly love whomever they want without fear of discrimination. This person is clearly mentally ill.

    Best Power Ballads

I've gotta admit, I'm a sucker for an awesome/shit power ballad. Can't get past this one at the moment. It's perfect. The cheesy lyrics, the catchy chorus (and the awesome build up to it), the 80s harmonies and the totally reverbed solo. Fuckin' rules.
